The Superfamily February 2009!! We're taking on the world!! MAJOR UPDATE 1/7

OKay guys, so we had decided we would leave around 1 am so we could get down to Orlando around the time Universal Studios opened. That wasn't the case. We ended up leaving around 2:30 am. I had to wait on Chad to fix him some coffee. I am the type that wants to wake up and head out the door!!:lmao: So, after we got on the road and made a pit stop at Wal-Mart, we were finally on our way!!! We stopped for breakfast and finally made it to Orlando around 9:45. We went straight to Universal Studios and City Walk!! We both were really excited since we had not been to Universal since 2002. The parking lot was crazy!!!!!
It was already getting hot outside and the crowds just in the parking lot were getting wild. There is nothing better than hearing all kinds of swear words come out of the mouths of kids under the age of 17 which totally annoyed me already! So, we fight the crowds walking towards Universal. I snapped this on the way

As we got to the front gate, with all the hoards of people behind us going the same place we were, this is what we see

Sorry folks, there was no way in an elephants trunk I was going in that park today! What you can't see are the crowds of people behind those people and the lines to get in. Call me spoiled, call me crazy, call me a weirdo but No way jose was I stepping in that park! I am spoiled by going in October and November and not dealing with crowds whatsoever!! There were groups of kids with matching shirts behind us that had school names on them. I counted 12 different groups. So, as much as it sucked, we just decided to go walk around and look at everything until it was time to eat lunch. I took this picture which turned out really good
134635608306_0_ALB.jpg

Once it hit 11, we decided to try the new Nascar grill cafe. They had changed it from the last time we were there in 2002. It ended up being really good. Sorry no pics! But, I will tell you what we got. I got the turkey swiss wrap with had turkey, swiss cheese, lettuce, applewood smoked bacon, and a zesty ranch sauce. I also had a hurricane which was really good! You could pick your own level of how toxic you wanted it. It ranged from category 1 to 5. I of course, chose 5! :lmao: Chad got a bacon cheeseburger and a beer. He said it was good! After we ate, we decided to check into our hotel I did not take any pics of it at all!! This my friends, is why I stay on park property! We stayed at the Quality Inn in Altamonte Springs to be closer to my sis-in-law so I could help her with the wedding stuff. I thought it was alright when we walked in, but once I looked around. Blech!!! The walls were kind of nasty and when I walked in the bathroom. That was the kicker. I found "something" on one of the towels. I immediately called the front desk and asked for more towels, which I had to go get myself. Then I found more "stuff" in the tub under the shower matt!! :lmao: Oh help me baby Jesus!!!:faint: It's true, you get what you pay for so I didn't gripe about it. We met up with the fam. Chad's oldest sister was staying right beside us with our two nieces and one of their friends. That night we had all planned on going out to eat to meet our soon to be brother-in-laws family. We ate at a vietnamese restaurant which was really, really good! I had pineapple fried rice which was awesome!! It had pineapple chunks, shrimp, and chicken in it! Yum!! Chad ate something called a flower connection that had shrimp, chicken, pork, and scallops in a sauce with veggies. Of course he tried the different curries with rice which he realy liked. So, after dinner we head to......CITY WALK!!! I was looking forward to going back and getting me a hurricane from Pat O'Briens.

Okay, so we get to City Walk and the first thing I wanted to do was get a hurricane! But, the guys had other things in mind....

This is my soon-to-be BIL, my BIL (DH younger brother) and the DH. They just had to visit the Cigar store! I usually can't stand the smell of cigars, but DH's smelled really good. It was rum flavored!

Of course, we had to get the side view

I finally, finally, finally got my hurricane!! I really wanted to try the 3 gallon one. Yes, you read right. They serve a 3 gallon hurricane. Man, the things I could do with that! i could literally swim in it as I drank it! :rotfl2:
Of course, I let my MIl (DH's, stepmom) try it. It was a winner!
Here she is with my niece

We decided to head over to Margaritaville where my DH oldest sister bought herself a margarita! Here she is with my niece and my niece's friend.

After we walked around and finished our beverages, we decided to go catch a wave! Here is DH's younger sis and her soon to be hubby!

By this time, we were ready to call it a night! So, me, DH, sis #1, and nieces and friend all went back to the hotel, while sis #2 went back to her house with MIL.

Up next, waking up with a headache and wedding dress drama!! Will the bridesmaid dresses be there or will they just not show up! Wait and see!

That stinks about the crowds at Universal! I guess summer has finally hit the Orlando area.

Shudder, shudder about the hotel room! I agree with you -- that's why I stay on Disney property!

Looks like you had a lot of fun at City Walk! I could handle a hurricane right now!

I know, we were looking forward to going back there. But, we are going to visit Universal when we go in October! I could handle another one right now myself!!:lmao:

I want the 3 gallon Hurricane! The surf pictures are funny!

I was laughing so hard at those pictures when they were surfing, that I could hardly take them!

drinks look good.
:thumbsup2

Oh, and they were!;)

Okay, the morning of the wedding I awoke to a headache! Yuck! We had all planned to go eat at Bubba Gump’s this morning. But…….there was a little bit of a bridesmaids dress drama! So, it ended up being me, DH, DH’s brother, and DH’s dad. We had a great time! I had to take a pic of DH at this when we were here the day before…

We went back to the hotel to get ready for the wedding. I actually took a nap then went and hung out with sis #1 and the nieces next door while DH got ready.

I actually got to the wedding site early to put out the bridal favors and help get the two nieces ready. I was fixing their hair for them. So, without further ado, here are the pictures from the wedding. There aren’t many from the actual wedding itself, because the photographer didn’t want any made. My SIL is going to email me the pics from the photographer once she gets them on her disc.

Well, here they are!

Two nieces

Well, that sucks that you got a late start! I know what you mean about crowds. I seem to have lost a lot of patience, too!

I love Jimmy Buffet! One of the halfway "normal" entertainers that I like. I saw him once and had so much fun. Of course, that probably had something to do with the contact buzz.

Note to self...never stay at the Quality Inn at Altamonte Springs. Is the "stuff" what I think it was?

Oh, no - Not a headache and drama!! I hope they're there!

What kind of drama? You really left us hangin! I assume the dresses made it there all in one piece? Did your headache end up going away?

I was a little upset that we didn't get to go in, but we are in October!:cool1:

I love him too!! His concerts are so much fun!!!

Well, it was how can I say this, I found one on a towel and several underneath the bathmat!!!! I was freaking out!!!

Yes, a headache and some major drama!!!

What kind of drama? You really left us hangin! I assume the dresses made it there all in one piece? Did your headache end up going away?

:rotfl2: I will tell you all about it!!

Totally left us hanging! Torture!! What happened next??? popcorn::

:rotfl: Here comes the drama in the next post. Then I will post wedding reception pics!!;)

I'm gonna try to explain this as good as I can because it is kind of confusing! This is the codes for each person involved:
BS will be my husbands older sister, BTB will be the younger sister aka bride to be.

Okay, about the dress drama. OS left the bridesmaid dresses at home and had her boyfriend fedex them. She took them to a bridal store to have them steamed Friday morning. She told them she would pick them up at 7 am Saturday. Well, she told BTB that she left them at the hotel because of the rain, when in actuality they were at the bridal store. She said she didn't want to hear her gripe! Already I was like, great!!! This is gonna be nice. So, as we were on the way to CityWalk, BTB got it out of our niece that the dresses were at the store and that she had yet to see her own dress. Now the bridesmaids were our nieces. So, BTB freaked out saying that OS lied to her the entire time and probably never bought them at all. This upset our niece. So, MIL tried to make them calm down and let them know that everything would be alright. So, the next morning, BTB came over to the hotel to go with OS to pick up the dresses. WEll, OS already picked them up and showed them to her. BTB said it was the wrong color. I am next door with my ear to the wall going nuts!!! BTB storms off and OS comes to our door freaking out that she said it was the wrong color and now she had to go with BTB to buy all new dresses. All I could think was, I am glad its not me!!! So, they go to buy new dresses. Come to find out, BTB called the bridal store and snooped around and told them that her sis was in there and had bought two dresses that morning and wanted to know how much they cost. BTB said she just sensed that OS never had bought any dresses. The lady said she remembered her and told her how much they cost. BS never had bought any dresses!!! SHE BOUGHT THEM THE DAY OF THE WEDDING!!!!!!!!!! I could not believe it!!!!!! So, she lied about the whole thing the entire time because she had forgotten. But, it ended up turning out alright. They are still not talking to each other, but I think they will both get over it soon enough.
Now, isn't that just wild!!!
Now, a little background. When my husbands parents got divorced, he married hubbys step-mom and adopted the OS, which was the stepmoms daughter. They had my husbands half sister and brother together. I know I am confusing everyone, I myself and confused. Hubby is an only child between his parents but he has the half brother and half sisters from his dad which are the ones in this report.>

Ok trying to follow- The bridesmaids of your little sister are your big sister's daughters? She was suppose to purchase their dresses and bring them down, but lied, not once, but twice about them, and really just purchased them the day before?

Did I follow that right?

Wow! That is a lot of wedding drama!!! Bet you were glad to be able to just go to breakfast and stay out of it (I know I would have been)!

Is the picture of your nieces the final dresses worn for the ceremony? They (both your nieces and the dresses) are gorgeous!

Actually, the big sister is my husbands older sister. It goes her, then Chad, then his younger sister, then his younger brother. Its a confusing story really. The older one is adopted by Chad's dad. Then Chad lived in Ga with his mom. Then his dad got remarried and he had the younger sister and brother. Sorry, I know my post was confusing!
But, the older sister is the one that lied and it was her two daughters who were the bridesmaids.
Yes, she lied about the whole thing!!! Just craziness!!!
