The Sunshine, Moonlight, Good Times & Boogie(board) Tour 2007

Introduction

I'm not a big poster on this side of the "pond" but I thought I'd share our recent trip with you all...hope you enjoy!!

We're here again folks....all the same actvities and all the same gags.....

Having been to Florida more often than a tropical depression, one trip report does sound very much like the last, but I figure that at worst it is a lovely record for us and the kids, so at least they can see where all their inheritance went, once they grow up.

First, let me explain the title…

The Sunshine, Moonlight, Good Times and Boogie(board) Tour 2007.

Well, we had lots and lots of sunshine, regular appearances of moonlight, quite a lot of good times, and some damn fine fun on our boogie boards.

I say our boogie boards….time for a BIG thank you to a very kindly soul from these ‘ere boards. At the risk of jumping ahead of myself, whilst at Saratoga Springs, we were notified that a “package” had been left for us with bell services. I thought my drug mule days were behind me, so I was a little confused as to what the package may be.

When I saw that it was two boogie boards and a box of cokes I thought, I’m not putting that lot up my jacksie whilst I go through customs for anyone!!

Turns out Jakki (TinkTattoo) and, her frankly far too nice kids ;) had left us their boogie boards for our trip to Vero.

There is a long history of boogie board shenanigans between the two families, and I know that Jakki was just trying to lure Louise into using one again to claim her £250 “reward” from You’ve Been Framed!!!

I’ll cover this off more when we get to that day…but Jakki, Steve, Aidhon and Naimh, thanks so much. We owe you one!!

So as I was saying, this report could just be a repeat of all the others as we did the usual stuff…. Like….

1. All the WDW parks
2. A few days at the beach
3. Some enormous meals
4. A medical emergency
5. A police incident

You know, all the routine Williams activities in Florida.

So maybe a little late now in this intro, I should introduce the cast of this ‘ere trip then.
Regular readers will be quite frankly sick to the back teeth of this, but I need to write it down in case I forget the names of my wife and children later!!

For those new to these boards and/or my annual waffle…we are…..well let me continue the Jackson 5 theme here to make things a little more interesting….

Craig, Me, mkingdon (should have been mkingdom but couldn’t type then and still can’t noe…now…see)

I would be…erm, now then which Jackson would I be….oh yes, Randy Jackson of course! OK, so he wasn't actually in the Jackson 5, but it is called poetic licence!! :d:

These trips always seem to coincide with my birthdays, so I’ll declare my younger age upon departure, of 36…middle age is when your age matches your waist measurement!! Well it did when we left….on my return I appear to be 56 years old!!

I am the main planner and driving force behind our constant trips into debt…I mean Florida. I think the kids are pretty much brainwashed now, knowing there is no other holiday destination that could ever attract them, and that both their weddings must take place in WDW if they hope to attract any funding from me.

I look something like this, give or take quite a few pounds depending on which day of the holiday it is.

Hmm, there are very few photos of me by myself, so I’ll have to use one from another trip for now till I upload the ones with lots of me in later

and my ain’t that a beauty???

I have been known to suffer the odd misfortune on past trips with things like queues and other members of the touring party’s medical needs….at times I feel that I could fall into a barrel of breasts and come out sucking my thumb…but we press on regardless, sure that this trip everything will go without a hitch…won’t it????

I realised that the dates of the trip could be problematic, as the Florida schools did not go back until our second week, when we were due at Vero anyway, and our last few days covered labor day.

I’d also heard horror stories about large numbers of Brazillians around the parks, and I haven’t seen one of those since Louise’s fateful trip to the salon in 1997, so I'm not sure I'd recognise one anyway.

Anyway, we are booked, packed and almost on our way so it will be what it will be…

Who else came along?

Louise, DW.

Louise is ever so slightly older than me, and if she were a Jackson, then it would have to be Janet…as Louise has lost 2 stone since our last trip…she never used that left leg anyway….

Because of that, we are “absolutely NOT going to eat lots and put weight back on”…so that is that sorted then.

Here is Louise (sat down to avoid falling over due to the lack of a left leg)

Emily my DD

Emily is now 12, and is something called an EMO. Her nickname at school is Little Elmo….what is an EMO?…I have no idea but google it and there will be plenty there for you to read. In fact I did it for you EMO Definition

As a Jackson, well that is a toughy…she is the older more sensible sibling so I guess Jackie Jackson?? He was the tall one with the serious afro who always looked really naffed off that Michael got all the attention and plastic surgery. Emily also thinks Rebecca is our favourite and always gets her own way "cos she's the youngest".

I believe that is a standard setting on all older siblings?

Emily also has just two noise settings.

1. In company other than close family and best friends….mute
2. In familiar company, off the scale nut case, ten minute tolerance level type noise.

Here she is.

Rebecca, my DD

Rebecca is 10 now, and she first went to WDW when she was two. I think we worked out this was her seventh trip. Yes dear, I know it is time to go somewhere else on holiday.

Rebecca is Michael Jackson for sure….what she lacks in afro she makes up in attitude. She also loves Michael Jackson. There will of course come a time when we will explain to her the things that might change her mind, but for now she likes his music and him it seems…so all I can say to that us Shamon and Hee Hee, as I don my glitter glove, and avoid the law courts.

Rebecca looks like this.

Yes, there is Ryan too. I never knew the monster I was creating when I first introduced him to the public all those years ago. His fan club is now a full time concern, and we cannot get round a theme park without being mobbed by Ryanettes these days.

Still, he is coming with us again this year, as he is quite useful. He is a little older these days, and so we don’t drag him round the parks every day now. Also, with age, his mind has turned to that which all males of a certain age are drawn….the opposite rucksex…

Meet Rosie….

floridaaug07003.jpg

Ryan and Rosie have been inseparable since we liberated Rosie from a Nike Outlet sale in 2006. They live in the cupboard over our bedroom wardrobe, where they have all the privacy they need. All too soon we will be hearing the undoing of tiny zippers.

So we had to take Rosie along this year as well.

So I have my notes at the ready, my jetlag in full effect, and I'm ready if you are.....

Before we start please be aware that there is to be no eating, drinking, smoking or the use of flash photography, and please keep your arms and legs inside the trip report at all times.

Please move all the way to the end of your row or I will be forced to hunt you down and exercise my painful retribution.

Sorry...just a personal rant there...on with the show...in a bit when I've slept and got back in something like the right timezone....

Day One is Here

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: This is how much I'm laughing already and I've not even got past the boogie boards bit yet.

I'm going to enjoy these reports and any Vero photo's that might follow popcorn::

Splendid matey. Hurrah, gimme more.

Hmm, having image issues it seems..dunno why...I'll have a play see what I can do...

Brilliant and very very funny,:lmao: :lmao: really looking forward to reading your trip reports, and as a mother of an Emo girl myself, I know where your coming from, but I did have to look it up myself a few months back. Hurry with more please:thumbsup2

Craig - as always brilliant!

If anyone hasn't read Craigs previous reports check out the link in his signature :thumbsup2

What a fantastic start - I can see I am going to enjoy reading your trippie.

Must make sure not to read it in my lunch hour or the girls in the office will think I am mad - laughing out loud:rotfl:

Roll on the next day

Tammy

I loved reading all your previous trip reports and it looks like this is going to be another belter. Looking forward to reading more. :thumbsup2

What an excellent report, I absolutely loved it and demand more! You are now my favourite trippie.:)

Looking forward to reading the rest, very funny intro!

Laur's princess:

Glad I found this one as I had read day 1 first and was really puzzled why you left out the photos of the other "two" in your group - Ryan and Rosie!

Susan

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: Great Stuff! I havn't laughed so much for ages! Dude you crack me up!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Your trippies have been recommended to me, so here I am (albeit as a moderator of the board I do, of course, religiously read them all ;) ). I have to confess that I don't have a clue what an EMO is. I was sorely tempted to follow the link, but I figured that as I've reached the grand of age of 46 living in blissful ignorance, it's probably best left that way.
