The Sum of all Thrills

Somehow I had no idea this exists! Has anyone done The Sum of all Thrills and would you recommend it?

My DD's have been doing this ride for a few years. It's a 'virtual' ride (just like the one in Disney Quest if you have ever done the build your own coaster ride there). I wouldn't recommend for people with motion sickness (I've ridden once, but that was it). You watch a short video, then you build your own coaster (different levels of 'scare' factors such as loops, etc). You get it saved to a card and then it gets loaded in your own ride. You can ride alone or with someone. My DD's love this ride and they try to do it pre-11:00am (after Soarin' and Test Track).
I've used the link mathmovesu.com with my grade 5 class a couple of times for fun math periods. Check out the site on Sum Of All Thrills by Raytheon
I'd try it once, as long as you are not prone to motion sickness.

I thought it was pretty lame, but I was with my daughter who was too short to allow upside down moves.

My kids and I love this ride!!!! We also love the virtual space mountain in DD at Quest. You can build your ride to your own tolerance levels, like Big Thunder or you can make it more extreme like RNrC.

as a teen, one item on my wish list was to design my own rollercoaster and be able to ride it. boy was i excited when i learned that Disney offered a ""ride" like that! i did it a few years back (i think i was the only adult doing it lol) and thought it was fun. they only give you like 2 minutes to design your coaster and make it "ride-able" using the laws of physics. i wish i had more time!! when it was my turn in the simulator arm seat, it was fun. strange to be upside down visually "seeing" your ride but feeling no G-forces pushing your body into your seat lol. (roller coaster enthusiasts know what i mean!)

I've done it, and I think it's a lot of fun. But I wouldn't wait in a long line for it! Also, my husband was very reluctant to do it, because he could see the ride from outside and to him it looked like there was a lot of spinning and upside down movements. I had to convince him that it wouldn't be that bad, because you can set the ride to your own tolerance (ie, if you don't like going upside down, you don't have to go upside down!).

Our final verdict - me, I could play with it for hours, but having to stand through the intro movie each time would very quickly get very annoying. I just want to program rides and try them out! My husband, not as bad as he feared, but not something he'll do more than once in a trip (and only if I insist).

If you've ever done the rollercoaster Sim a Disneyquest you'll get the idea. This is low quality graphics but it feels more like a real coaster than the DisneyQuest one. You design whatever you want and then hand you card in to ride. Your really being thrown around by a Robotic Arm.

Two people per robot arm. We've ridden every trip. Usually you can get in with a short wait. I would not wait more than 45 min for it.

I have totally missed this as well. I saw it recently mentioned on a post as one of the most underrated rides. I think my 6 year old will really enjoy this. He loves anything interactive where he can be part of the process of creating something.

He actually keeps asking me if we are going to go on the ride where you create your own world. I was stumped at first and then realized he's talking about Spaceship Earth, lol.

This ride is easy to miss. I don't understand why they don't list wait times for it or offer FP+?

This ride is a lot of fun. Can be kind of educational for a child and can also be a real hoot for an adult.

SOAT has to be considered a "demonstration", rather than an "attraction", as Universal holds the rights to the Kuka arm technology for theme park attractions. Almost certainly, wait times and FP would violate those rights.

Another thing to consider is that it has a VERY low capacity. Calling more attention to it would make the demand far exceed the supply.

I feel this is an unsung jewel in future world. I wouldn't wait a super long time for it, but I'd certainly make the effort to see if you could do it.

My kids and husband absolutely love this ride! But don't attempt it if you're claustrophobic.

If the wait is 15 minutes or less do it. If longer skip it.

We did this for the first time the other day. Well to be accurate we all 3 (DH, DD and myself) all designed the ride but only DH rode it. He had blast and wants to do it again next trip. We had fun designing the ride with him (you get 4 minutes to do the design but it flies by!)
