So, only you all would understand this, and I had to share!!
A quick bit of back story: In the spring of 2006, my "little" brother got engaged, and DH & I were both asked to be in the wedding. My now SIL is a tiny, tiny, very thin person, and most of her friends are, so DH & I went on a diet so we wouldn't be the "really heavy" people in the wedding pictures.
I lost about 30 pounds doing WW and exercising. DH lost about 35 just because he ate whatever I was eating and exercised with me. We walked about 4-6 miles a day, either on the treadmill, with a Walk Away the Pounds tape, or outside in the park.
Fast forward to now: Unfortunately, I have let my exercising lapse. That is to say, I don't do it now. I should, I really, really should, but anyway, I don't. My mom has recently retired from teaching, and in June, she started walking every morning with some neighbors. She built up to about 3.6 miles a day, and she wanted to walk the Race for the Cure yesterday. DH & I and one of her neighbors did it with her.
It's important to know that I have been hounding DH trying to get him to take me to WDW for Thanksgiving (I know we just went, but hey. . .it was worth a shot!). So, right before the race starts, I say, "Soooo, if I were to finish the 3 miles in 35 minutes, would you take me to WDW for Thanksgiving?" He says, "If you could do that, I'll do whatever it takes for us to go." Now, I'm a woman on a mission. The race starts, and DH & I RUN (yes, that's RUN. . .for someone who's not walked other than what is necessary in about 8 months) up the first hill and around the corner. We make the first mile in 9 minutes. I'm going to WDW!!! Then, it starts to hit me. I thought, "Ok, I need to not do this now." My feet were thinking of mutinying and leaving my body. We walked. And then I walked slower. And slower. DH kept saying, "Ok, let's attack this next hill." I was about to attack HIM.
Long story short, which is impossible now. . .I finished in 45 minutes. No WDW, but I was still pretty happy. Until I woke up this morning, and every muscle in my body ACHES. I am walking like a little old man, even tonight!!
See the things I will put my body through in an attempt to go to WDW?!? Only y'all would understand!!

) I will feel more like getting out and getting some exercise.
. if I even think of saying "let's go to Florida" my dh says, "we are not going to disney world!" A nice long hot bath and some advil sounds like just what you need!
We've taken our own water in the past, but decided not to add the extra weight to the stroller since there's always been lots of water available before. We've never run the race, though. We do the 5K walk with at least two kids in tow. Our race for the cure also has a "sleep in for the cure". (Is there no sleeping smilie?) You pay the fee and get your t-shirt in the mail. Try that next year, no dehydration, no sore muscles.
Good for you and hubby for loosing weight and doing the Race for the Cure!
GO BROOKE GO!!!
