I just found out I maybe visiting universal during a day horror nights is going on at night. I do want to ask, firstly what are the crowds like that day? But more importantly as someone who hates gory horror, how is the atmosphere during the day with the decorations still staying up? I’m not expecting a chainsaw wielder to chase me during the day obviously but I’m just curious if there are gory props left out during the day? Also what happens around park close, I know there’s two hours that separate horror nights and a regular day since it is a separate ticket but how is it getting out around that time? I’m used to Disney having the ticket for very merry Christmas or not so scary.

Please don’t judge because I’m not into this type of stuff, I just don’t want to be chastised over it. Thank you!

I would never do HHN either, but US during the day is fine. Nothing gory, there are a few larger structures out but you won't see anything upsetting. I don't recall any issues getting out of the park, but it was so hot that September that we may have left the parks earlier. The crowd at IOA may be larger with those who are not at HHN.

You`ll leave the park by 5pm.

Whole park is cleared for the event opening later around 6-6.30pm. Crowds aren't bad during the day until folks start entering for the holding areas, but it`s manageable. You won`t have trouble leaving.

The structures left out during the day are in no way scary or gory. Anything like that doesn't get left out or if it is it`s well covered up.

IOA is open later on those days, many make their way over if they`re not staying for HHN.

No one judges you over here if you don't like HHN, not sure why you think you would be, horror isn't everyone`s cup of tea...…..

I’ve never been to HHN. This October will be my first but wanted to just say that no one on the Darkside of Disboards world ever judge you. This is where the nice people hang out.

Thank you all so much! Like I said I’m used to how Disney does things so I wanted to double check how the procedure is for staying in the park during these hard tickets events. I actually have been stalking to see the decorations out during the day and while it’s not scary or creepy in my eyes I do think the pumpkins are a little disgusting. Not scary, but just walking by enough for me to go “ew.” I guess I was expecting worse for explaining my feelings so thanks for being so open and understanding everyone!

Just for some perspectives we would go when our son was 5-6 and had no problems being in the park during the day with him (and he is our one that doesn’t like scary or gory at all). We really didn’t notice the decorations and the ones we did see were not inappropriate for little ones..just as sort of a baseline.

FYI, since you aren't a fan of pumpkins, there was an area they had them set up in trees during the day...it was a walk-through area, I'm pretty sure you can avoid it if you need to...it was somewhere between the character party zone (where the parade vehicles come out) and the Simpson's stuff, I think. Sorry, I've slept since then, so I can 't remember specifically, just wanted you to be prepared!

This is what the path with the pumpkins are. Most are not that scary, just ugly faces on some. None I would say would scare most.

This was end of August when all was being set up.

I have been during HHN time, and they do a very good job of covering anything scary, and even the alcohol places open during HHN are not open during regular park hours.

If you go to the parks on the weekend, crowds so grow in the afternoon

Peeps that don’t work on Saturday or Sunday usually will come to the parks in the afternoon to do the rides

The park is closed at 5 and reopens for hhn officially at 6:30

(Usually will start letting peeps in 6:20)

Those that were in the park at closing time and have the hhn ticket, are allowed to stay in one of the holding pens

Maybe you have lower park crowds if you avoid the weekend
