"The Stormtrooper Killed My Cupcake!" - An August 2016 TR *5/12 x2!*

Day 5, Part 4: "I've gotta give the Imagineers props for the queue."

After I'd returned with Marie's drink we hung out for a little while longer at the pool before making our way back to the room. A process which led me to take even more pictures.

076_zpsfckitcnx.jpg

The manor buildings are so pretty.

077_zps9e6ycdil.jpg

There was this cute gazebo that would probably have been a nice place to relax.

078_zpsrssb9bbm.jpg

And the river, of course, was lovely.

079_zpsanh0umbx.jpg

Our building.

080_zpsux37ljvm.jpg

Those Disney details.

081_zpsgtlf93qc.jpg

Marie trying to dry off.

Once we got back to the room, we rested for a little bit and then cleaned up so that we could head out again.

In our quest to check off as many food establishments as possible we decided that we'd eat dinner at the resort quick service location, so that's where we headed next.

082_zpsaw34fjpt.jpg

I grabbed another picture along the water.

083_zpspucllxkj.jpg

And another.

084_zps8xduszfh.jpg

We said hello to the working horsie.

085_zpsnl0oqlcd.jpg

Then headed inside.

086_zpsxyudhsuw.jpg

Marie got the roast beef melt and some homemade chips.

At first I was just going to eat my leftovers from Wolfgang Puck Express, as I still had some pizza left. However, it did not reheat well. So I gave in and went to go and get some food myself.

087_zpsfwbdlw9y.jpg

I got the kid's sized freshly sliced turkey served with mashed potatoes and corn, plus corn bread as my side and, of course, a tiny water.

We both really enjoyed our meals and as usual, my kid's sized portion provided more than enough food for me.

Once we'd finished, we went out to the South Depot bus stop (also known as the sort of main bus stop) to go ahead and catch a bus back to the park.

088_zpsyhfw2mfv.jpg

It was maybe a ten minute wait for the bus.

089_zpsex6cpbpy.jpg

And not too much longer, we were seeing this sight again.

Of course, we had to hurry as we had FPs to attend to, so we quickly went in.

090_zpsuae6bny7.jpg

And then made our way toward our dreaded destination.

091_zpsrfeacu56.jpg

Fun fact: I am never doing Tower of Terror ever again and when Marie gets to the story of our latest time going on in the January weekend TR, you will understand why.

For now, just know, I am over it forever and no one will ever make me do it again.

I can, however, appreciate the detailing in the queue.

092_zps6jxqgfxu.jpg

093_zpsrtbrxhjv.jpg

094_zpsfsqdngdv.jpg

It is very well done.

We even got selected for a red card, on this, one of my last rides.

095_zpsn5xu9mby.jpg

096_zpshi9vjwcx.jpg

You can see Marie has her hand on my leg, trying to help me stay calm and feel secure because while she loves this ride, I feel like death itself is coming.

Once we were done, we decided to get a few more pictures as we ran across John again. We once again only had sweet things to say to us and we made a note that we'd definitely have to stop in and give a good comment for John.

097_zpsj4gr7ar4.jpg

098_zps2ukbtlge.jpg

He had us do another fun picture too, which I appreciated.

099_zpsgmjpyo28.jpg

After we wished him a good day, we set off to figure out what to do next as we had some time to kill before our next FP.

100_zpsevmqus2f.jpg

Continued in next post

Day 5, Part 5: "The line starts back there."

As it turned out, we really had no clue what we wanted to do. So, we wandered a bit.

101_zpsfnjeywkv.jpg

Saw some storm troopers.

102_zpsxopbrgnr.jpg

Checked out the Great Movie Ride (which had a wait longer than we were willing to stand by for).

During that time, although I have no picture documentation, we also checked waits for Mickey and Minnie, and Toy Story Mania and each were longer than we were willing to standby for too.

So, we did what anyone would/should do when they've got time to kill in Hollywood Studios...

105_zpsuwqolmox.jpg

Ahh yes, One Man's Dream.

106_zpsfq9kdvmf.jpg

107_zpsq5rwxajx.jpg

We wandered around for a while, just enjoying everything.

However, they were showing a preview for a movie at that point, so we decided that we'd skip out on that and start making our way over toward Star Tours to use our fastpass.

We were still about five minutes early for the entering five minutes early, but Trials of the Temple happened to be going on and we stood by to watch for a few minutes.

103_zps5ii9d60m.jpg

But then it was the time our fastpass was opening up, so we made our way inside the queue.

104_zpsrxknznlg.jpg

The line inside was pretty decent, even fastpass way, so we had some time to kill. Marie pulled up MDE to see if there was anything that we could get fastpasses for later. To our surprise, there was a fastpass available for Toy Story Midway Mania just 25 minutes away, so we snatched that up right before boarding our flight.

I was trying to be the rebel spy and I even followed the suggestions to get it. However, it wasn't meant to be.

Besides, fate was kind to us anyway as our trip was Jakku and Naboo, just like the name tags we'd bought earlier in the day.

Of course, by the time that we got off the ride, we knew that we could head over toward Toy Story Mania to use our fastpass.

108_zps6h84mzsr.jpg

Unsurprisingly, Marie won. I didn't take down scores, but she always wins.

Having been beaten, I knew that our next move had to be to go for Fantasmic. After all, it was the time to enter for people with dining package already. True, we could have entered a tad later and still been able to have good seats, but Marie and I are kinda worriers. You know those people who show up an hour before a movie starts? That's us. We like the knowledge that we are secure in getting the best seats.

109_zpsi1ubnecd.jpg

Here's where we sat and it was pretty great.

As it got darker, it even got to the point where IllumiNations started.

110_zpssnhvlvpz.jpg

I snapped a picture.

I also took a few during Fantasmic, but to be honest, not a lot turned out.

111_zps56tf5y8m.jpg

I can hear the music in my head just looking at this picture. Anyone else?

112_zpsizw8vcko.jpg

Now, I had a plan for the evening. I knew I had to see the Star Wars fireworks again. I loved them. The problem is, at that time they still only had that tiny window between when Fantasmic was and when the Star Wars Fireworks started. I can't remember what it was. 30 minutes, I believe? Basically, it meant that I had to skip out the second the characters started coming around because I needed to try and rush over to get a spot for the fireworks.

Marie was not pleased with this development. She felt like I was abandoning her. But I was like, bye Felicia, and jetted anyway.

Don't get between a girl and her fireworks.

113_zpsvwvw9gpi.jpg

I managed to get this view after practically running - but not because that's a serious safety hazard, so I waked with a purpose - all the way from the theater as far up Hollywood Boulevard as I could get.

I had wanted to hit Magic Kingdom after since there was going to be extra magic hours. Marie wasn't too sure about that, so I told her bye again and that I'd see her when I got back to the resort.

The problem was, Hollywood Studios wasn't really closing all that late that night. So me and everyone else had the same idea about hitting up the magic kingdom.

My plan was that I'd just head to the nearest Epcot resort and catch a bus to Magic Kingdom from there. However, I ran into Marie who said she wanted to come and she led me over to the bus stop directly for Magic Kingdom from Hollywood Studios.

The line got long. And I mean, long really fast.

To the point where people were like trying to just get in at random spots. There was no one around telling people where the line started, so I put on my best ride operator voice, broke out my two finger point and directed everyone toward where the back of the line was.

Marie was horrified. She was embarrassed and asked me to stop, but other people around us in our somewhat high place in line (only a few people overflowing out of the chained area) were happy to see me telling people to get to the back of the line.

Total, I'd say there were easily 4 buses full of people and it wasn't surprising. Hello, Hollywood Studios is closing at like 9 PM and Magic Kingdom is gonna be open until 1 AM. Of course all the resort guests are heading over.

114_zps6gpn9cq4.jpg

We managed to get on the first bus, all crammed together. Unfortunately, we got crammed next to some of the most whiny people ever. They were complaining about "how come everyone else is going to Magic Kingdom? I'm not comfortable with this many people around me! I'm super claustrophobic." Here's the thing though, this lady was not acting claustrophobic like someone would be if they actually were - nervous or stunned or panicky, just angry was all she was. Sure, she was uncomfortable, but lady we're all uncomfortable. Suck it up. But no, the whole way she's whining and her husband is whining and her kids are whining.

So finally, I turned to Marie and in French (cause it's extra frustrating for people when they don't know exactly what you're saying) I just start ranting. Basically, it was me going off about how of course everyone is going to Magic Kingdom when it's open so late and Hollywood Studios closes so early and how no one should be surprised and if they don't like being so close to people just take a cab or something because they are going to pack the buses when there are so many people waiting.

The whiny family could sense that we were talking about them, they could catch the names of parks and extra magic hours and the like, but they couldn't exactly know what we said. I gave me joy.

Not as much joy as I had when we finally got to Magic Kingdom and I could get off the bus, but that's a tad different.

After the crammed ride over, our first order of business was to go and get a snack.

And where is the best place to get ice cream?

On Main Street! So, we went and got into line. At that point we also found out that Main Street Electrical Parade was going to be retired from the Magic Kingdom while I was scrolling through Facebook.

The couple in front of us heard and was saddened by the news. We chatted with them for a few more minutes before they realized their son - the reason they were stopping to get ice cream - was asleep and headed out of line.

Marie and I got an ice cream sandwich with mint chocolate chip ice cream and then headed to the Tomorrowland Terrace so that we could go and eat it.

115_zpssfq5c8ow.jpg

When we'd finished eating, we headed to use the FP we made while sitting there.

It was for Winnie the Pooh, but it started raining, so we hurried along without taking any pictures.

I mean, is there anything more Disney than IaSW? Everyone knows it.

Yeah. COP.
COP is more Disney than IaSW.

And doesn't make you cringe!

The manor buildings are so pretty.

::yes:: I liked staying there and didn't once regret not staying in bayou instead.

There was this cute gazebo that would probably have been a nice place to relax.

Good photo op spot.

Marie trying to dry off.

"Trying"?

Marie got the roast beef melt and some homemade chips.

I'm hungry... want.

At first I was just going to eat my leftovers from Wolfgang Puck Express, as I still had some pizza left. However, it did not reheat well.

Best way to heat pizza?
Frying pan.

Microwave? Just... no.

I got the kid's sized freshly sliced turkey served with mashed potatoes and corn, plus corn bread as my side

Thanks for the description! I was looking at it trying to figure out what it was!

Once we'd finished, we went out to the South Depot bus stop (also known as the sort of main bus stop) to go ahead and catch a bus back to the park.

I don't think we ever used that one. We always used the one behind our building.(East Depot.)

Um.... I don't remember ever seeing this!

Fun fact: I am never doing Tower of Terror ever again and when Marie gets to the story of our latest time going on in the January weekend TR, you will understand why.

Uh, oh.... I'm behind on that one. Maybe it's already posted.

Soon...

For now, just know, I am over it forever and no one will ever make me do it again.

I can, however, appreciate the detailing in the queue.

::yes:: I love the theming in there. One of the best.

You can see Marie has her hand on my leg, trying to help me stay calm and feel secure because while she loves this ride, I feel like death itself is coming.

Awwww... poor Amber.

Cute shot of you guys.
But... does Marie have her toes bandaged? Did she hurt herself?

As it turned out, we really had no clue what we wanted to do. So, we wandered a bit.

That's one of the best parts of Disney. You can just wander around. Ton's to see and look at.

Ahh yes, One Man's Dream.

Been in there... But never seen the movie.

To our surprise, there was a fastpass available for Toy Story Midway Mania just 25 minutes away,

Major score!!

Besides, fate was kind to us anyway as our trip was Jakku and Naboo, just like the name tags we'd bought earlier in the day.

::yes:: Definitely meant to be.

Unsurprisingly, Marie won. I didn't take down scores, but she always wins.

Some day, Amber... some day.
(Do you both know all the tricks to higher scores?)

Like that shot.

Marie was not pleased with this development. She felt like I was abandoning her. But I was like, bye Felicia, and jetted anyway.

 Ah, true love.

Usurped by fireworks.

Don't get between a girl and her fireworks.

Apparently not!

I had wanted to hit Magic Kingdom after since there was going to be extra magic hours. Marie wasn't too sure about that, so I told her bye again and that I'd see her when I got back to the resort.

Poor Marie. She's getting ditched left, right and center.

There was no one around telling people where the line started, so I put on my best ride operator voice, broke out my two finger point and directed everyone toward where the back of the line was.

You're kidding!! Good for you!

Unfortunately, we got crammed next to some of the most whiny people ever.

Ugh.

They were complaining about "how come everyone else is going to Magic Kingdom? I'm not comfortable with this many people around me! I'm super claustrophobic."

1. Shut up.
2. Take a cab then.

So finally, I turned to Marie and in French (cause it's extra frustrating for people when they don't know exactly what you're saying) I just start ranting. Reminds me of one of the last times I rode a bus back home. Two old ladies were sitting side by side, speaking French, criticizing everyone else on the bus. It was quite entertaining.

We chatted with them for a few more minutes before they realized their son - the reason they were stopping to get ice cream - was asleep and headed out of line.
Not good when you're standing in line and realize you have no reason to stand in line.

mmmm.... looks sooooo good.
And so huge!

Yeah. COP.
COP is more Disney than IaSW.

And doesn't make you cringe!
But people know IaSW better.

::yes:: I liked staying there and didn't once regret not staying in bayou instead.
I do like the bayou too though.

Good photo op spot.
It would be great.

"Trying"?
Yeah, she wasn't putting a lot of effort into it though.

I'm hungry... want.
She says it was really good.

Best way to heat pizza?
Frying pan.

Microwave? Just... no.
Really? That's something I didn't know and now will have to try.

Thanks for the description! I was looking at it trying to figure out what it was!
Any time :P

I don't think we ever used that one. We always used the one behind our building.(East Depot.)
I think that's the only time we used it, though we could have.

Um.... I don't remember ever seeing this!
It's where guest relations is situated, so we've been there before too.

Uh, oh.... I'm behind on that one. Maybe it's already posted.

Soon...
That story isn't up yet, so don't worry :P

::yes:: I love the theming in there. One of the best.
It definitely is.

Awwww... poor Amber.
Worry not, I did survive.

Cute shot of you guys.
But... does Marie have her toes bandaged? Did she hurt herself?
She does have her toes bandaged, they were having problems at that point.

That's one of the best parts of Disney. You can just wander around. Ton's to see and look at.
Very true.

Been in there... But never seen the movie.
The movie isn't always there, but it is great when you can catch it.

Major score!!
For sure!

::yes:: Definitely meant to be.
Yes it was.

Some day, Amber... some day.
(Do you both know all the tricks to higher scores?)
I don't think either of us know the tricks for TSMM.

Like that shot.
Thank you!

Ah, true love.

Usurped by fireworks.
Gotta do what you've got to do.

Poor Marie. She's getting ditched left, right and center.
She was fine.

You're kidding!! Good for you!
I can't stand chaos.

Reminds me of one of the last times I rode a bus back home. Two old ladies were sitting side by side, speaking French, criticizing everyone else on the bus. It was quite entertaining.
French, the language of criticism.

Not good when you're standing in line and realize you have no reason to stand in line.
They were pretty chill about it.

mmmm.... looks sooooo good.
And so huge!
It was super good and super huge.

But people know IaSW better.

But shouldn't.

:rolleyes1

She says it was really good.

Then... want more.

Really? That's something I didn't know and now will have to try.

::yes::

Worry not, I did survive.

<phew!>

She does have her toes bandaged, they were having problems at that point.

Problems? Her toes were having emotional or financial problems? Poor toes!

I don't think either of us know the tricks for TSMM.

Learn 'em. Then...

I can't stand chaos.

Now that is an interesting statement!

French, the language of criticism.

:lmao:

Seems like you enjoyed the setting of your resort - and your meals look pretty good! (fully agree that the kids meal portion is often enough food)

So you are saying you are not a big fan of Tower of Terror, am I getting that correct? ;)

Obviously a lot of the Disney CMS are great but I have found the photopass photographers can be some of the best!

We were able to get an "extra" FP for Toy Story Midway Mania as well our last trip - I think adding that 3rd track has really helped!

I get why they time the fireworks and Fantasmic! at DHS (to make you come for 2 nights to really see all of both) but it is a bit annoying - glad you made it to see them again though

mmmm, that ice cream sandwich looks really good! Amazing how ice cream tastes so much better when you are eating it inside the Magic Kingdom

This is one of the best trip report updates ever! The bye Felicia cracked me up. And I loved your rant on the bus. We need a new update!

So, I love that you used your operator voice on the line. I probably would have been embarrassed at the time too, but would have told everyone about it later.

Also, I do love when I can rant about people and they don't understand. (Though I do the opposite with my students at the beginning of the year before they figure out I understand what they're saying when they try to go off in Spanish or Portuguese).

Fun fact: I am never doing Tower of Terror ever again and when Marie gets to the story of our latest time going on in the January weekend TR, you will understand why.

I don't even know this story yet but join the club - I'll make buttons.

I feel like death itself is coming.

Same.

You know those people who show up an hour before a movie starts? That's us

guilty as charged lol

But shouldn't.

:rolleyes1
I take it you'll lead the campaign to educate the masses?

Then... want more.
You'll have to make it a goal for next time.

Problems? Her toes were having emotional or financial problems? Poor toes!
They were having emotional problems, poor things. Though, actually, they were being really numb or something.

Learn 'em. Then...
I'll do so, but not tell Marie..

Seems like you enjoyed the setting of your resort - and your meals look pretty good! (fully agree that the kids meal portion is often enough food)
It was really nice. Not French Quarter great, but still lots of fun.

So you are saying you are not a big fan of Tower of Terror, am I getting that correct? ;)
Correct!

Obviously a lot of the Disney CMS are great but I have found the photopass photographers can be some of the best!
I can definitely agree to that.

Oh yeah, it's definitely helped and extra FPs are great.

I get why they time the fireworks and Fantasmic! at DHS (to make you come for 2 nights to really see all of both) but it is a bit annoying - glad you made it to see them again though
Ugh, but I just wanna get it all done in one day. Curse you, Disney!

mmmm, that ice cream sandwich looks really good! Amazing how ice cream tastes so much better when you are eating it inside the Magic Kingdom
Everything tastes better inside the Magic Kingdom!

This is one of the best trip report updates ever! The bye Felicia cracked me up. And I loved your rant on the bus. We need a new update!
Thank you! And I'm putting up an update tonight. The end of the school year is coming up, so I've got a few tests left that might keep me from updating as regularly but hopefully that'll change soon. I am going to try and get as much done before our next trip as possible though.

So, I love that you used your operator voice on the line. I probably would have been embarrassed at the time too, but would have told everyone about it later.
Hey, someone needed to do it. I wasn't gonna let people cut and start a fight or whatever.

Also, I do love when I can rant about people and they don't understand. (Though I do the opposite with my students at the beginning of the year before they figure out I understand what they're saying when they try to go off in Spanish or Portuguese).
Perfect! We did that once, we were in Miami and playing laser tag against this group and they started plotting in French thinking we didn't speak it and then bam! Marie was like "Oh, so upstairs to the right? That's a great place!" The look on their faces was great.

I don't even know this story yet but join the club - I'll make buttons.
Club buttons! Tower of Terror never! I'm honored to be in such good company.

guilty as charged lol
You wanna get the good seats though! You need to get those perfect seats and not miss any pre-show and have time for concessions. Like, how am I supposed to arrive 20 minutes before a movie starts?

Problems? Her toes were having emotional or financial problems? Poor toes!

They were having emotional problems, poor things. Though, actually, they were being really numb or something.

My toes have the emotional issues, and the rest of me has the financial problems :P

Nah, it's the toe I broke a few years back and I guess it wasn't enjoying... something. It felt numb and prickly at times so I was almost wondering if I'd... sprained it or something? Can you even sprain a toe? Anyway, it was a precaution. Also because having it brush against my shoe whilst feeling number was really unsettling and the bandage made a barrier.

Day 5, Part 6: "The best time for Winnie the Pooh is all the time!"

When we'd finished our delicious treat we set off to use the last FP of the day that we just managed to snag.

Unfortunately, it started to rain along the way so I didn't get any pictures because we were hurrying and we didn't want to get the camera wet.

However, we rode Winnie the Pooh! It was warm and lovely as ever.

Once we got out it was still drizzling, so we decided that we'd go ahead and do a show that would allow us to sit down for a little bit longer since the park was technically still open to the general public, everything was still open.

And, we managed to snag a last FP for the evening that we'd have use of not for another 15 or so minutes, which only gave another reason to find a way to kill some time.

Thus...
116_zpsturm8xuc.jpg

We laughed ourselves silly on the Laugh Floor.

117_zpsfia5khi9.jpg

Actually, we ended up waiting almost 20 minutes to get in, proving that it was a popular show.

Once we got out we headed out of the show, we went to go to use our last FP of the evening.

118_zpsb2pydedb.jpg

Obviously, from the wait time you can see that it was necessary.

119_zpsdwkh6dgg.jpg

I was over it, but Marie wasn't.

Yet, I still won.

At that point, we decided to split up.

120_zps1trhjjzx.jpg

Marie was one of the last people who got onto the Peoplemover for the evening.

121_zpsztgxzdxu.jpg

I headed into Space Mountain.

It was about a twenty minute wait once I got inside the line, so Marie had more time.

122_zpscts3wene.jpg

She did take a picture to show that she was around.

Afterward though, she headed back over to Buzz to try and up her game and learn the secrets of doing well.

123_zpsgykltyac.jpg

But being alone made her sad.

124_zps2hajuqyp.jpg

And being alone on Space made me sleepy.

Once I got out, we decided to ride Buzz together.

125_zpsttgn1r4w.jpg

And despite Marie's extra practice, I still won.

Someday, love. Someday.

We decided to do a little bit of shopping at that point. Or rather, I knew that I had to go and buy a dress that I was eyeing.

Once it was bought, we moved onward and we decided to do something that we hadn't done in ages.

126_zpsihbjeiee.jpg

127_zpstoetavfi.jpg

Only one side was operating, so we ended up waiting for about ten minutes before we were allowed on.

It's really fun to drive those cars, though I doubt we'll be rushing to go back anytime soon.

At that point, Marie and I split up once again.

128_zpsaok0qef1.jpg

She made her way to the Mad Tea Party.

129_zpsn6ojkv5t.jpg

And I made my way over to...
130_zpsaq2pyivn.jpg

Winnie the Pooh, of course!

Once I'd seen my favorite bear and Marie had twirled around, we met back up.

And we decided that we were due to meet a mermaid.

131_zpsescmeqpj.jpg

There was almost no wait, so we headed in really quickly.

132_zpslrxdulsq.jpg

Ariel asked us about our pins and we showed them off proudly.

133_zpskftstaua.jpg

Then smiled for a picture before swimming off.

At that point it was almost take for park closing, so we made our way to the front of the park.

134_zpson39vdng.jpg

We went out to the buses and by the time we got on one it was 2 AM, the official park closing.

Between the ride back to the resort and the walk back to the room, we got in around 2:30 and went straight to work.

Now, since I've been neglecting the whole competition for a while and since today is May the 4th, I will give some chances for bonus points.

One point is available for each correct answer to the following questions:
What is Amber's favorite Star Wars movie?
What is Marie's favorite Star Wars movie?
Who is Marie's favorite Star Wars character?
Who is Amber's favorite Star Wars character?
Who is Amber and Marie's favorite Star Wars droid?

Good luck and may the force be with you!

I hold the title of Galactic Hero on Buzz in our relationship, so I feel like Marie and Nathan could commiserate together on this one.

Your Ariel pictures are so cute :lovestruc

EXACTLY!!! If you don't like sitting for that long find yourself something to do! (of course, I'm always that kid that brings a book with her to the movies just to be safe lol).

I completely understand how Marie feels lol. I did AMAZING last time I rode Buzz, but it was seriously luck (I have the picture for my TR to prove it lol).

Looks like a fun evening - but thank goodness you got that Buzz fastpass!

Your ride photos are very cute and I like that you both look sad to be separate

- I hope that is a type and you meant you went straight to bed, not to work!

I take it you'll lead the campaign to educate the masses?

I already am.

They were having emotional problems, poor things. Though, actually, they were being really numb or something.

Emotionally numb. I understand. MK is pretty overwhelming.

I'll do so, but not tell Marie..

;)

My toes have the emotional issues, and the rest of me has the financial problems :P

Ah okay. Makes sense.
And... I would think you could sprain a toe?

I may have heard that you enjoy that particular ride.

Once we got out it was still drizzling, so we decided that we'd go ahead and do a show that would allow us to sit down for a little bit longer

Really? Most people stand when they do a show. Even dance.

We laughed ourselves silly on the Laugh Floor.

Good, huh? :)

I was so sure it was going to be for Pooh!

Did you even pass one person?

119_zpsdwkh6dgg.jpg

I was over it, but Marie wasn't.

Yet, I still won.

:sad2: Well, you do have your hand on the gun at least.

At that point, we decided to split up.

Shame. You guys seemed so happy, too.

I headed into Space Mountain.

This surprised me. After reading about your aversion to TOT, I got the impression that you weren't a thrill rider.

123_zpsgykltyac.jpg

But being alone made her sad.

Awwwwwww...

124_zps2hajuqyp.jpg

And being alone on Space made me sleepy.

Well, it was late.

You're kidding me. No. Way.

It's really fun to drive those cars, though I doubt we'll be rushing to go back anytime soon.

I ride it all the time!
I first rode it in either 1978 or 1987.... and never went back.

At that point, Marie and I split up once again.

Again??? But you just got back together!

It was the Speedway ride, wasn't it.

::yes::

Made it all the way to the end! I'm impressed. Looooong day. But sounds like a fun one!

They can bond and we can bond. Is Nathan better at Toy Story Mania or are you just the game winner?

Your Ariel pictures are so cute :lovestruc
Thank you!

That's so smart! Marie and I just talk and then we scroll through Facebook and such.

I completely understand how Marie feels lol. I did AMAZING last time I rode Buzz, but it was seriously luck (I have the picture for my TR to prove it lol).
I look forward to seeing how well you did. We just all need to read up on the secrets!

I know, we really needed it.

Your ride photos are very cute and I like that you both look sad to be separate
Well, we try. So thank you.

We went straight to work on getting to bed.

I already am.
Good on you. I'm proud.

Emotionally numb. I understand. MK is pretty overwhelming.

Really? Most people stand when they do a show. Even dance.
If you do something different, people remember.

Good, huh? :)
We love the Laugh Floor.

I was so sure it was going to be for Pooh!
Well we had already had one right before the Laugh Floor, so that would be a bit excessive for Marie.

Did you even pass one person?
Maybe one person.

:sad2: Well, you do have your hand on the gun at least.
That's the trick.

Shame. You guys seemed so happy, too.
We were.

I only have a problem with ToT. The rest are fine. I love Space.

pictures?
I'll wear it in our upcoming trip :P

You're kidding me. No. Way.
We aim to surprise.

I ride it all the time!
I first rode it in either 1978 or 1987.... and never went back.
I rode something similar at the Amusement park back in Michigan a few times.

Again??? But you just got back together!

It was the Speedway ride, wasn't it
It tore us apart.

Of course.
Gotta do it.

Made it all the way to the end! I'm impressed. Looooong day. But sounds like a fun one!
It was long but fun for sure.

Scrubbing the bathroom... making the bed... vacuuming...
Work helps one sleep.

5. BB8
Well there is one right here :P

They can bond and we can bond. Is Nathan better at Toy Story Mania or are you just the game winner?

Nathan is absolutely better at TSMM, and it drives me crazy. :) I was beating him till the last screen because I had the advantage of having played before, but then he made a huge comeback! He has more upper body strength than me, and better reflexes from all that time he spent playing video games in his formative years.

I can be beating Marie until halfway through and then my arm gets tired! Stupid upper body strength. I need to start lifting to get it better.

Day 6, Part 1: "Could it be? Is it he?"

Although our plan for the day had originally been to sleep in, we weren't able ot do so thanks to the appointment we'd made to go do the DVC tour. We'd been offered a $50 gift card in park when talking and had set it up, only to find a letter in our room with a $100 gift card offer to do the tour. So, we definitely went ahead and did so.

Thus, at about 8 AM we were getting up and heading out so that we could make our way to the front entrance where we'd meet our driver.

001_zpsvgoh4ui9.jpg

He was waiting for us when we got there.

After the short ride over to Saratoga, we were led inside where we were told that we could help ourselves to a few snacks and drinks.

002_zpsm0uxeflu.jpg

They have very cute wall decorations there.

We did a tour of a Saratoga unit, as Saratoga is probably where Marie and I would own if we were going to buy in. We talked about it, debating the pros and cons, but ultimately decided that at the time it just wasn't right for us.

Then, we were led to the check out where we were going to get our gift card. We presented the letter, which promised a $100 gift card instead of a $50 one, got the gift card and then met up with a new driver.

We asked to be dropped over at the French Quarter because we knew that we wanted to get some of those delicious beignets they serve over that way.

003_zps8fee3mrt.jpg

004_zpskk8l1lja.jpg

We admired the beautiful lobby, which made us miss being at our Disney home. Or, one of our Disney homes. We still love you, All Star Sports.

At this point, the food court was under renovation, but they had converted the Scat Cat Lounge into a quick service area of sorts with a grab and go section and a very limited menu.

005_zps6evtd5ke.jpg

Greeting outside the entrance, was none other than Santos! Santos was a worker for our September 2014 trip who had made a quite magical memory for me when he gave me a free misshapen cookie when I went to buy our first ever set of beignets. It wasn't just the cookie that made it magical though, but the fact that a few minutes later he came over to tell me that a lady had seen me get the cookie, and since cookies weren't officially supposed to be served for another 15 minutes he lied and said that I was his boss and therefore needed to get the cookie. This was highly comical, of course, because I get carded buying lottery still today and that was 3 years ago.

I told Santos that I remembered him and we chatted for a good 30 minutes, with us listening as he did some comedy bits and as he mentioned that he'd probably be leaving Disney in the fall. So, wherever you are Santos, thanks for all the laughs.

Once we had finally said goodbye, and gave him a cast member thank you card we had made, we headed inside to get those beignets.

006_zpsn6cvtrqf.jpg

They were just as delicious as we had remembered.

With our bellies happy, we set forth to our next adventure.

007_zpsvkajzhqa.jpg

Which, admittedly, involved sighing over the beauty of the French Quarter.

008_zpsumzks9sc.jpg

Saying hi to our favorite talented musicians.

009_zpsphseeqxo.jpg

Steering clear of this creepy guy.

And checking out the new splash zone area.

010_zpsb6mwei9p.jpg

011_zpspys9wqsy.jpg

I also had to say hi to Scales, the best slide.
012_zpspglcf1o0.jpg

Keep doing you, Scales.

Now, we weren't just wandering for the sake of it. We actually had a plan for the day and were heading back to catch the boat over to Disney Springs.

013_zpsurghk2qn.jpg

014_zpser1xofgo.jpg

We watched these people be the last ones let on the boat and knew we would have to wait for the next one.

015_zpsjewinfwl.jpg

C'est la vie.

At least we got to enjoy the niceness of our surroundings.

016_zps1hpw2cic.jpg

As it turned out, it was only really 10 minutes later that another boat came and we were allowed to board.

017_zpswike5rmp.jpg

018_zpskdvwbo98.jpg

A scenic ride took us past our maybe someday DVC home (if we ever decide to buy in).

And deposited us into Disney Springs.

019_zpsuzahmtci.jpg

020_zpsrgux5zrk.jpg

Our first stop was into Marie's favorite store, the Christmas Store.

021_zpsshvg20o5.jpg

Then we decided to do something that we had never done before and go over to Goofy's Candy Company. I know, it's crazy that we hadn't been before, but sometimes you just end up doing crazy things like that.

022_zpsij60bxsq.jpg

We admired all the candies.

023_zpsksqkitwx.jpg

And the baked treats.

Before deciding that we were each going to customize our own rice krispie treat.

024_zpsaldqr6fz.jpg

We had fun chatting with the cast member who made them, and then tucked them aside for later. After all, it hadn't been long since the beignets.

025_zpspjwo55ih.jpg

Then we headed outside to go on with our day.
