The Star Wars Navi problem

I think the Navi River Journey is to blame for low SWGE attendance.

I know when I first heard that SWGE was going to have 2 attractions and the secondary attraction was the first to open, I thought, "ok, like Pandora. The secondary attraction is going to suck. No way I am going before the headliner is open."

P.s. - I still went anyway.

That thought sure has crossed my mind. NRJ was boring. I won't ride it again until its a walk-on. I figured since Disney's pattern is to make new lands with only two rides and have one of them be a snooze fest, then why bother until the whole thing is up and running. I'll plan to see it in all its splendor when DW and I take our son down there to start his DCP term.

Maybe a separate conversation, but I'm guessing the price hikes are starting to have an impact at the tapstyles too.

Minority opinion here I am sure, but I like Navi River! Agree it is no where near up to FOP. I also enjoyed Smuggler's Run, but not as much as FOP. I thought Smuggler's ride was only slightly better than Star Tours to tell the truth, mainly because it was interactive and the queue with Hondo. So I can certainly see die hard Star Wars fans waiting until they were both open. For us, experiencing Galaxy's Edge with all the shops and Oga's etc, in a less crowded time was great.

I'm the weirdo who likes NRJ better than FoP. I LOATHE fop. It makes me so nauseous that it is not in the least bit enjoyable (plus the awful actor in the pre show is just the worst). The smells in the ride just add to the puke factor.

I really liked Smugglers Run. I think its a better ride than FoP by a mile (as is Galaxy's Edge over Pandora). I can't wait for Rise of the Resistance. It opens the day after we arrive in December.

I thought NRJ was better the second time through.

NRJ is great but too short due to budget cuts. A little more length(and maybe some story elements) and it would have been a perfect dark ride. I still enjoy it but only with a FP or walk-on stand-by. In fact I think the lengthy waits is what leads to this rides bad rep. People wait 90+ minutes and the ride is over in a blink.

And to stay on thread topic: yes Smuggler's Run is the Navi of SGE. Its a perfect analogy to say "What if Pandora opened with only Navi?". This is exactly what happened at SGE.

The length of Navi is my only real complaint about it. Otherwise what is there is enjoyable to see. It's just waaaaay to short.

I actually love Navi River Journey. Was it FOP? No, but it was relaxing! Or it would have been in the older couple in front of us would have stopped taking flash photos in the ride -_-

I have read this "NRJ" is too short comment many different times, and it seems that everyone who dislikes how short NRJ is also happens to love FoP, so this past summer, I timed them both, and it turns out that NRJ is longer than FoP. I personally enjoy both rides, however, I agree with the OP's point, which is why visit half a land, and especially if the half that is open is NOT the E ticket.

You must have timed it from takeoff in FOP? Disney Jedi mind tricks. The pre flight show extends perceived time.

Yes, indeed, I did NOT time the preshow(s) / loading time, fluff. I timed it from the point where everything goes dark, and the lights start flashing until the point where the screen goes black, and it is shorter than NRJ, and not just by a couple of seconds. The NRJ ride I timed had no backups, it was a smooth ride through, so no extra time was introduced due to boats backing up near the end of the ride.
