The Star Wars, Cinderella, Disney lovin fam's take on DW. **Pictures included**

Little bit of a DH intermission here. Pretty accurate and in order so far. However, when we got back to HS that evening, DS and I went to The Indiana Jones Stunt Show. (Id include a pic or 2 but I dont have 10 posts yet. silly rules) It was the last show of the day and we arrived a few minutes late but DS wanted to see it anyway. We got pretty good seats for being late. The show was pretty entertaining and DS loved it. After the show we went on Star Tours for the 3rd and final time of the day. While DS and I were doing our guy stuff the ladies were having some quality time. Then we met up and went to TSMM for the 2nd time of the day. Then off too Fantasmic. OK done for now thanks for reading.

^ That's right!!! The Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular Show wasn't in our original plans when we came back to Hollywood Studios that night, but our son REALLY wanted to do it. Surprisingly, the CM was still waving people into that show even though it was 5 minutes after the show actually started. I'm really happy DS got to do that b/c he enjoyed it a lot!!
Here are some pics of that show:

My DD and I took the time to walk around HS while the "guys" were doing that show. Then we walked back to Indiana Stunt Show and waited for them. At this point the kids wanted ice cream; so I got DD a Mickey Ice Cream Sandwich.... DS then said he didn't want ice cream... he was more interested in going into the Indiana gift shop where he got some cool looking rifle toy.
Then I THINK??? we went to get seats for Fantasmic. Which I already posted about.

Now....... the next day for us was EASTER SUNDAY. Being that we were staying off property, we tried to plan our days in parks that did NOT have EMH. So Saturday at HS worked perfectly for us, and we were hoping AK would too.

Like we had been planning and talking about for the past 2 months, once inside Animal Kingdom, DH took DS to the right, into Dinoland to ride Dinosaur. DD and I took our 4 park tickets and headed to EE to get FP's for the boys. DD and I would not do Expedition Everest! On the "Trail" to EE, we spotted where "Finding nemo the musical" is. I looked at the times guide and that was starting at 11AM, which was perfect. We were already in that area so we would do that after EE.

Once we got the FP's, DD and I went back to Dinoland. That whole area is themed just like a carnival. They had game stands set up, where you spend a ton of money to win some "lovely" stuffed animals. ;)
Luckily, after looking at my receipts later that day, we only spent $20 on games. Could have been much worse!
DD and I played some games--- then met up with Daddy and DS. Then the 3 of them went on Triceratops Spins. Mommy doesn't really do rides that spin or are too fast. Although later in the TR you will see which "Mountain" ride I did end up going on and enjoyed!!
Then DS and DH went on the primevil whirl?? dinosaur ride-- then we got out of that area and walked over to where EE is.
I saw a lady and her son with coffees and asked where she got them. She pointed me in the direction and I realized I had been wanting to come here ever since I saw some frozen chai tea that looked soo good in someone's TR~

I was disappointed when I saw the machine for the frozen chai-- I don't really know what I was expecting but it wasn't that. It looked like just some pre-made full of sugar frozen slush but it didn't look appealing to me at that point, so I ended up getting coffee along w/ DH. It was pricey though- 2 coffees totaled $8! For the next few days we quickly realized we were not wasting that much $ on coffee and brought our own.
Anyways..... so DS and DH went on EE and DS wasn't a fan of it. Maybe next year when he is a little older?
So the other 2 FP's we had for EE we gave away. Thinking back, we did that a lot this trip with giving our FP's to random people. It was a nice way for us to spread some Disney Magic to others. pixiedust:

We then went to watch Finding Nemo musical--- this was our 1st time seeing it. So many people compare this to Lion King but they are really so different, and each beautiful and wonderful in their own right. Overall, I do prefer the Lion King musical but I really enjoyed Finding Nemo too!
Then we were hungry and headed over to Flame Tree BBQ. It is a very popular CS and I can see why! The beans were sooo good, as were the chicken and ribs. I didn't get anything here but I tried my family's food! I walked over to Restaurantasaurus so I could get a veggie sandwich. It was just okay.

DH says the onion rings were VERY good! Also, for anyone who has a Tables In Wonderland Card, this is one of the few CS places that accepts it. So we got 20% off!
Here is a little friend that was looking for some food.

After eating we split up. DH and DS took a leisurely stroll through the park. FP's the safari for us and got some cool binoculars for the kids in Africa. DD and I found some Character Meets since she really enjoys them.

We then were going to meet some of the UP Characters but the line was a little long, so we went to meet up with the boys and do the safari.
The kids were excited to use their binoculars on the safari ride.

Since we were not doing the Safari until noonish time and it was hot, we were worried we wouldn't see as many animals. While that was a little true (The amount of animals out weren't as many as when we went last year in the morning), this year it was better because there were baby Elephants playing in the water and it was the cutest thing!!!!
After we did the safari we went to see the Lion King musical. It was wonderful as always. When we were done with that, we saw this:

The Gang fishing!!! Our family, thanks to DH loves to fish! Well, mommy doesn't, but she enjoys going along and watching her family fish. :)

Up next........... the latter part of our day after leaving AK around 3:30 was going to Downtown Disney, and preparing for an early start to Epcot on Monday!!!

I'm getting caught up so comments go back a ways...
That is pretty spectacular that you go to see TSMM TWICE! I haven't been on that ride at all for several trips since we don't make it early enought to get FP. (and that was nice that you gave away your EE fast passes that you didn't use.)

Isn't it crazy about the crowds at Fantasmic?? And to think anyone would try to get into the next show by coming in the exit.... yeah, people, go stand in line...:rolleyes1

So funny about your walking/driving debate to DTD for EoS. I hate being wrong! At least it was only a 5 minute walk.

I'm a FT BBQ fan. :lovestruc Those onion rings look good - I'll have to try those sometime.

I look forward to reading more. Your photos are really fabulous!

Love your report so far! That must have been so nice to be walking distance from downtown Disney.
I will be going to Fantasmic for the first time this year--good to know what to know as far as crowd size (10,000 people--yikes!)

Hey there! Sorry I forgot to post when you sent that message:) Great trip report so far! Love the pics!

I haven't checked any out yet but I just might need to. I'm on the fence of trying not to spoil the fun of experiencing something for the first time and making sure I won't be waisting our time on something. Seriously considering just waiting until the next visit (which will be a few years) when we plan to bring DD for her first visit. (Yes I am already looking ahead to our next trip and we haven't even taken the first yet! :lmao:)

We get to be there a whole blissful week! We'll be celebrating our 6th wedding anniversary while we are there. That's the main reason for the trip. We do plan on experienceing a little of the food and wine. Well, at least the food part. DH and I aren't big wine drinkers.
That's awesome to celebrate your anniversary in the most magical place!!! I'm not a big drinker either and have never been to food and wine there but they did have something similar on our trip to Epcot where they had the diff. food stands all over world showcase. Anyhow, I think waiting to see Fantasmic with your DD when you go will be a good idea. I hear you on planning your next trip before your first. lol I was in Disney and already thinking about how we could get back there!! I have a trip in the works for this end of August/early Sept.

What a fun way to spend your Easter?
Yeah it was very relaxed compared to a typical Easter!! We really enjoyed being on vacation for a holiday. We hadn't done that before. Although, I was in Easter many years ago sans kids and hubby, visiting my cousins in LA but that's the only other time I was away for any holiday. Normally I help my mom cook and it's always stressful... all that food preparation and then food's gone in a blink of an eye..

I'm getting caught up so comments go back a ways...

Yeah it was nice we were able to ride TSMM twice. What time of year do you go? I was hoping that when we go during "low season" in September I wouldn't have to rush to get FP so early in the morning. But I'm not sure if that is just an every day crazy busy ride no matter what kind of crowd level it is??

Isn't it crazy about the crowds at Fantasmic?? And to think anyone would try to get into the next show by coming in the exit.... yeah, people, go stand in line...:rolleyes1
Yeah I was surprised to see how popular Fantasmic was. I also had different expectations of that show... not sure what I was expecting but it wasn't that... LOL Although I can't say I didn't enjoy the show.. I just happen to like the wishes show at MK and Illuminations at Epcot a little more. And yes the line cutters, I couldn't believe they were trying to walk up through the exit, not to mention they were walking into herds of us people leaving the show. Very annoying!

So funny about your walking/driving debate to DTD for EoS. I hate being wrong! At least it was only a 5 minute walk.
LOL Yeah I don't like being wrong either. But I do admit when DH is right. ;)

I'm a FT BBQ fan. :lovestruc Those onion rings look good - I'll have to try those sometime.
That was my first visit to FT BBQ and I loved it there. My DH did say though that while the ribs were okay, he had better ones at Yak n Yeti. But that was a sit down dinner so it's hard to really compare CS to TS. Also the BBQ sauce was so good, I was dipping my pretzels in it! I think you will like the onion rings. I didn't try them but DH loved them.

I look forward to reading more. Your photos are really fabulous!
Thanks so much. I'm going to post more today. :)

Love your report so far! That must have been so nice to be walking distance from downtown Disney.
I will be going to Fantasmic for the first time this year--good to know what to know as far as crowd size (10,000 people--yikes!)
Thanks!! Yeah I love the Wyndham's location. Soo close to DTD. Are you writing at TR after your trip?? Let me know how you like Fantasmic and if it's as crowded. We were there for spring break/Easter week so maybe that is why it was crazy packed in that Fantasmic show. Hoping for you that is not the case.. It was hard leaving there- was like a traffic jam!

Hey there! Sorry I forgot to post when you sent that message:) Great trip report so far! Love the pics!
Hi Rachel!! Thanks for stopping in here! I have read your TR's and absolutely love them! I'm a rookie at this but am trying. :)

So my memory of this trip is starting to fade. We were trying to figure out some details....After just now having a 20 minute recap with DH, he reminded me that I had all the detailed notes/times of our itinerary on my "Notes" section of my Iphone. Yay for that!!! :thumbsup2

Okay, onto the latter part of Easter Sunday. We hopped on our bus at 3:30 and headed back to the hotel. On the bus back "home", we talked to 2 nice families! One couple who were staying at our hotel were saying they went to the Paradiso club in DTD but the food wasn't great, but the tequila was pretty good. I don't drink much if at all so we knew we won't be going there. The husband was saying their DD was vacationing in Cancun for the alcohol, in which the wife nudged him and said something to the effect of "Honey, you know she went for scuba diving. You make it sound like she just went there to drink" :rotfl: This is funny to me b/c I can see how he meant it so innocently yet it did come off like his DD was a drinker- which I'm sure she is not and the wife/mom was being protective of her, I would have been the same way... haha!
So we get back to the hotel and the kids are in our room playing with the things they got from the Easter Bunny. Dinner time rolls around and we had a reservation to eat Easter Dinner at Bongo's (Cuban food, love it!!!) at DTD and no one was hungry but me!!!! At this point DH was coming down with a cold or flu and we didn't realize it yet. Not being hungry should have been a sure sign since he does love food...so I just made myself a PB&J sandwich. Mind you, at this point my Easter dinner consisted of a pre schooler's favorite lunch. :woohoo: I coaxed the fam to leave the hotel room and walk over to DTD. (Remember, it really is a 3 minute walk from our hotel!) So we do that, and end up at Earl of Sandwich for the 2nd day in a row. I got the kids a meatball sub (Cannonballs it's called?) to split and DH and I weren't too hungry so after the kids were done eating, we each got a small dessert from EoS. DH and I got the yogurt parfaits, they were very good!! DD also got one and DS chose chocolate pudding. While we were sitting outdoors eating, I observed sooo many families there too at EoS eating fast food on Easter. I had never done that before and it felt great to leave the stress of holiday cooking behind and just enjoy being on vacation and going with the flow.
We did a little shopping, window shopping and browsing:

Didn't end up buying either but I love Belle and Ariel, my favs!

A really sweet CM was walking by and I saw her w/ buttons. I asked her if she had a Happy Bday one for my son since his bday was coming up. She did! She also gave my daughter one, a pin that said she was celebrating her brother's bday. She also blew bubbles w/ her.. how cute!

Also, each year as a tradition I started- I get DD a new charm for her Disney necklace. This year we got 2, 1 charm of the Castle to symbolize eating at CRT and the 2nd was Ariel. She picked her out. I thought I took a pic of the charm area but can't find it now.
This was the trip she discovered Duffy!! Mickey's favorite teddy bear he takes with him during his travels. :) The kids each wanted to pick out a Vinylmation. DS of course chose something Star Wars related, and she chose Duffy. So once getting him, that was the start of her love for this new little bear. We end up meeting him the next day!!!

After our DTD shopping was complete, we walked back to our hotel and went to sleep early. We wanted to be up and ready for rope drop at Epcot on Monday!!!
Originally our plans for Monday were to have a "no park" rest day, and go on Wednesday to Epcot. However, as to be expected, the weather forecast changed quickly and Monday was going to be beautiful whereas Wed. was calling for rain. We'd rather stay in Wed and be in the park on a nice day! (Those plans changed too as you will see!)

So the morning comes quick enough and we are ready to start our day at EPCOT!!

Once we get into Epcot we split up. DD and I saw Daisy Duck and she wanted to meet her.

We weren't doing autograph books this year but when the Easter Bunny brought the kids Disney Journals, DD brought her journal w/ a crayon (Was a thick Disney themed crayon) and had some characters sign her pages.

While we were doing this, DH and DS went to ride Test Track and also get FP for it. After the Daisy meet, us girls went to get FP for Sourin'. When we were down there getting those passes, I saw Sunshine Seasons. I texted Dh and we would meet there for breakfast in a bit.
DD and I then went to ride The Seas with Nemo. We loved it!
After that ride, we walked thru:

And a mini aquarium type room.
I LOVE SeaHorses and knew this fact, but thought it would be funny to take a pic of this:

Met up with the guys and we all rode Nemo, then took the pic inside Bruce's mouth.
Then went to eat breakfast. I got the oatmeal, and the rest got breakfast platters. Nice combo of scrambled eggs, sausage and pancakes. They enjoyed it.
DD and DH then rode Sourin while DS and I went to the playground that he passed by earlier and was begging to go to.
Saw this on the way:

After the Sourin' ride DD and DH met up with us.. the kids played some more than we had to gently guide them out of there... the kids admired this:

We were heading to World Showcase now where I was very excited to try the food booths set up!!
First stop was getting some slushies at:

Then we ate lunch at La Cantina.. DH wasn't feeling well so he didn't eat much. I got 1 order of nachos and 1 order of chicken tacos. The kids nibbled on the nachos but I ended up eating A LOT here as to not waste the food. In hindsight, I wish we would have gotten only 1 thing here and that way I could have sampled more from the food booths. Being here for the Flower & Garden festival while they were incorporating some elements of Food & Wine was really exciting to me! So after eating at La Cantina, we really wanted to go on that "Duck Ride" in Mexico, so we did and it was so cute. Loved it and want to do that again in Epcot. We also did a Kidcot thing here and the kids colored Phinneas and Pherb and Duffy.
So we venture out of Mexico and on the way to the other countries we did stop at the Pineapple Promenade for a Dole whip (DD loved and DS thought it was gross, lol). DH got the Violet Frozen Lemonade and I tried it and it was very good!!!
Saw these:

We also ran into DUFFY meet/greet!!! DD discovered him in DTD when she bought the vynlmation so she wanted to meet him. Even DS was eager. We got in line and there was a story in the que area that I read to the kids.

Waiting in the Duffy line and took a quick pic of our pretty view:

We then headed to Morocco and at this point I all along had plans to eat at Tangerine CS as I did last yr and enjoyed it, but I was still full. Instead, I made the kids take a pic with the beautiful fountain, and then browsed the souvenir shops in Morroco. Didn't buy anything but enjoyed looking. At this point Dh was feeling worse. We only got to the food booth in Japan where I HAD TO try the fruishi and then he was done. Wanting to head back.
This picture is the after math of the kids tasting it and deciding they thought it was yucky. Mommy on the other hand, liked the flavors. For the price of $4.50 I would not get it again though.

Daddy at this point had it. We had to turn around from Japan and head back towards FutureWorld. On the way, we did stop at the "Secret Garden" in the UK that I've heard about. It was pretty, and the kids wanted to get some water from the water fountain.
At that point even though DH was feeling awful, he remembered we still had to get our character meet as a family. We went to do that, and also he said, "We have to do Clubcool". I was so glad he reminded me of that. The kids don't get soda except for parties and special occasions. DS was excited to try all the diff. sodas. And it was free. Very nice!

We then headed on "home" so daddy could rest and we could get ready for our special day in MK tomorrow. DS was turning 7 tomorrow and we would be celebrating at Magic Kingdom! :yay:

Love (y)our report so far & its making me want to go back so bad. I feel terrible that we didn't get to enjoy Epcot as much as we really wanted. But I did have a fever  and I could barely speak this day. Sooo... LETS GO BACK ASAP!

P.S. love you.

So sorry to hear that DH got sick while you were on vacation! It's no fun to feel yucky while at Disney! But I guess thats better then feeling yucky at home!
