The Splash Mountain Fire leads me to really question...

if any of the iphone wait time apps really are reliable. Yes, I know, none of them are truly in synch with WDW. But here are my thoughts.

Pete talked about the fire and how they closed down all of frontierland during the fire on the show this week. I also saw the facebook report pop up from the dis when it was all happening.

So for kicks and giggles within minutes of the facebook alert coming out, I checked the couple of wait times apps that I have just to see if any of them said that the rides in FL were closed. Not one of them did. In fact the ride wait times varied by a significant amount, between 15 and 45 mins for SplashM. That's a big difference.

So are any of them really reliable to try to use? Or are they all just pulling numbers out of the bums? Is there one that you tend to notice is pretty accurate?

The one the crowd calender makes is pretty Accurate.
But people in the parks put the time in so when that shut down no one would have probably put that in.

Yeah, I agree that Lines is the most accurate that I have used... Well worth the $10 per year... It has their scientific prediction, and is supplemented by user input as well.

Also i love how lines is not an app. It is a mobile site so you can use it on any phone that has web.

Lines does have app versions that are likely easier to use, but any web-enabled phone has access to the same info.

They are all based on statistical information to make predictions, tweaked by user input. I don't know if they have a way to enter "ride closed" info. I know the UT "Lite" app on Android does not.

I use "WDW Wait Times" and have always found it to be accurate.
