The so-so trip..March madness is at WDW *Updated 7/27* Final thoughts

Ok...jumping on board so I can follow along!!

We ate at Teppan Edo for the first time too our last trip and now it's added to our faves list! I had the steak and shrimp and DH had the steak and chicken (then we shared the chicken and shrimp as that is how we roll). ;)

You're right, the mushrooms were delicious!!!

Your pics are FAB!!! Do you use your Samsung phone to take them or do you use an official camera?

I totally get that whole "yo, this is my space, this is your space thing" I have told adults and kids alike "EXCUSE me" and basically elbowed them out of the way. (only in a nice, mind your own business kind of way) LOL...

We have yet to eat in the QS in Morocco, but we always try to hit Restaurant Marakkesh (it's one of our traditions to try to eat there our first night of a trip).

Can't wait to read (and see!) more! Great job so far!:goodvibes
:welcome:
Definitely a favorite of ours now.
Thanks. Most are with Nikon d3100. The airline pics are with the samsung galaxy s3
:lmao: it is Disney so you must be nice.
You should try the Morocco cs. so good.
Thank you.

Glad you had a great meal at Teppan Edo! We love it there. DH & I tried it in 2011 & then when we had the boys with us last year we did it again.
:thumbsup2 it is so good.

I was in HHI last week so I am still catching up, but I just have to say that I love Teppan Edo. Good food and so entertaining - what's not to like? :confused3

I promise to get caught up properly but just had to stop by to say :wave2:

I saw you were on FB. Lucky.

It is good food and entertainment.

We left dinner and were full. Here we are outside thinking of what to do.

We decided to walk out. Of course I had to take photos along the way.

Here is blurry America.

Where I saw Air Supply last year and hopefully will see a candlelight procession this year. I am hoping for Doogie. LOL

Italy.

Germany

Looking at the countries.

China.

Then we were by the fountain so I guess Mexico did not appeal to me. LOL. Strange. Maybe the pic was bad and I deleted it.

Love palm trees.

I love this photo. It is my desktop wallpaper.

Then we got to the ball.

Another tree.

They had this projected on the wall of the monorail. Sorry it is blurry.

Then we went to the bus stop. As we were standing there waiting I heard noises and I looked over and saw this.

Fireworks from the bus stop.

I know I probably should not have posted them being it was so far away but I thought it was fun to see it there and different.

Then we were on a bus to go home and sleep. However we had to do something that had Vinny very mad. Earlier we called because the side of the bed Vinny was on sloped so we called and asked for a new mattress and they said okay. Great. When we returned that night here is what we found.

Kidani review:
I was not happy and Vinny was furious that they could not make the bed and just left it in a ball like this. He said to call housekeeping to have them do it but I talked him down and we made the bed. This was so disappointing and I know it is DVC and all but really they could not make the bed? This was a major strike against Kidani. The other was the fact hardly any CM said hello or even acknowledged anyone. In Jambo they are so happy and cheerful and here they are not. Then the fact the quick service is nonexistent here did turn into a factor but we knew it going in. We had standard view and I actually did enjoy this seeing the buses going to the parks and families walking to their cars and being so happy. Then the one day we had to go to the pool and we got there and it was PACKED. This pool was so small and it was the main pool for the hotel. We turned around and left there. We did love Sanaa. It is also great seeing the animals as you walk by them but Kidani is a resort we will never visit again even if it was offered free. It was that bad for us. No Disney magic feeling and we both agreed the trip really began when we got to POP. This is also why I love Disney because they have many options for everyone to enjoy. If you don’t like a resort then move on to the next.

So after we made the bed I went out and sat on the balcony and Vinny went to sleep and then I soon followed.

Up next,

Day 3. Lunch with the fish, flowers, dismeet and a movie.

Epcot looks so empty from your photos. I loved Kidani and found Jambo way too crowded but we stayed there in August but I found everyone to be friendly. I do agree about the pool it is way too small for that resort, it was always very crowded when we went. It was probably maintenance who changed out the mattress and not housekeeping but they should have sent someone up to make the bed.

I love that you can see MK fireworks at EPCOT. I missed seeing all of the night views.

I'm looking forward to the Candlelight Processional. Can't wait til the list of readers are announced so I can decide what day to go.

WOW!!!! I can't believe that they just left the bedding like that. I can understand Vinny being upset. I would have been too. That's inexcusable behavior on Disney's part.

Fireworks make me happy, doesn't matter where they are. I would have been so tight if I came back to the bed looking like that! In my head, things like that aren't supposed to happen at Disney, you know?! Sadly, we have had everyday craziness happen to us at Disney. Glad you were able to move past it.

Great updates, Scott!!

I am so glad you posted about Teppan Edo. I made an ADR there for my June trip (as recommended by...mmm...KatMark...or MEK...or MeMom...I dont remember! :confused3). I am looking forward to trying it for the first time. That steak dish looked amazing!!!

Sorry about the rude girl at SE. Last time we were there, a girl actually leaned on my DBF's shoulder and wouldn't stop..I thought he was going to punch her! :furious:

We were just at Kidani in January and loved it. I am so sad to see that you had a bummer of a time there. I agree that we liked the "feel" of Jambo better, but overall we had a good experience. Hopefully you will give it another chance someday and it will be much better!

OMG that bed!! I would have blown a fuse!! we had a maid 2 years ago in POP that only pulled the top duvet cover up and straighten that, when you pulled it down everything underneath was still a mess from the previous night..but that bed!!! omg that takes the grand prize!! I dont know how you kept him off the phone ! I truly hope you did complain about it eventually on check out or something? They are bound to have known you were coming back from the parks tired ...grrr

The fireworks pics from the buses were very different & good!! Told you before....you take pictures no one else thinks about!! :worship:

Sorry you had such a bad time at Kidani. I stayed with the ladies there twice & we loved it. We enjoyed the pool when we were there & if wasn't crowded. Maybe it's the time of year??? :confused3 Of course, we didn't have the bed issue you did. I do agree about the quick service being VERY POOR!!! I have never stayed at Jambo so I can't compare.

So sorry the girl invaded your space. I swear sometimes that I could talk till I'm blue in the face and my own kids don't get it. It's a major issue for me and there are times where they clearly don't get that they've crossed into it. I realize, especially as kids, it all revolves around them but ugh it drives me nuts!

I only say that as her parents may well be trying to beat it into her head and she could simply be a typical self absorbed teen who doesn't see anything around her. Not excusing it but I wouldn't blame it on the parents. Some people don't have space issues of their own and I think that's a huge part of it. Of our 4 kids, 2 get it, one kind of does and one clearly does not. Go figure.

It must have been really bad though if she caused you to curse.

Pretty cool that you could see the fireworks from the bus stop.

I'd be pretty upset about the bed as well, though again in fairness, it sounds like an issue of departments not talking to each other. engineering would have taken and delivered the new mattress and housekeeping responsible for making the bed. If engineering didn't let them know it was there and if it was after/during a staff change, I could see how it could unintentionally happen anywhere.

All caught up now !!

Loved your Epcot pics !!

We have a Teppan Edo ADR fo September. I can't wait, but I am worried the kids won't like it.

I can't believe they didn't make the bed ... for realz ??

We stayed at Jambo this last trip, but we liked the rooms at Kidani better. Sorry you had such a bad experience.

I believe it was.
That is what I figured who changed it but yes they should have.

Is that what show it was. I had no idea.
I can't wait for the list either.
I was surprised about it.

:lmao: I did move on.

I hope you like as much as we did. It was so good.
oh no if someone actually touched me I would gone crazy.
Maybe sometime in the far away future. Maybe by myself I will.

We sent and email to them.
You would think so but I guess they did not care.

:rotfl2: I try. Need to change up the tr's.
It could have been the time of the year, it was crowded at the resort.

Yeah with kids it is all about them until they invade my space. :lmao:
Cursing is putting it mildly. I don't like anyone coming near me if I don't know them and if they do approach and introduce but she was leaning over looking at my email and the pic. Very annoying.
of course it could happen I never argue that but the fact we got back so late and we had to make a bed in a hotel it should not happen. I have stayed at Motel 6's and had better service. :lmao: it all came down management that day and the manager of the department who delivered the bed did not follow through. major fail.

All caught up now !!

There were 4 kids there when we went and they enjoyed it but all kids are different.

Very nice World Showcase pictures! :thumbsup2

I like the fireworks from the bus stop pictures. We don't always see them from 'head on', and I have taken many pictures of them from afar. I can easily picture my crew standing there enjoying them from that angle as we wait to leave. It's nice to be able to see them and already be out of the masses. ::yes::

Sorry to hear about your dislike for Kidani. We are staying there two nights this summer. Brooklynn will love the animals, of course, and they have a lot of fun/crafty activities for kids. We will not be going into parks those days, as that is when we are going to Sea World. We'll be doing other Disney things, though, like Downtown Disney, eating a character meal at a resort, watching Wishes from Poly beach, probably mini-golfing, and maybe checking out Splitsville. Doing all that, we won't really be spending a lot of time in the resort, to be honest, but it will be nice to check another one off our list. :)

Wow Scott nice pictures of WS at night!:thumbsup2

Nice that you could see fireworks from the bus stop & still get on the bus before the masses get there.

Too bad about the bed. That is strange. Sorry to hear you did not like Kidani. I have never stayed there (as my heart belongs to Beach Club) but it is always nice when you have friendly cm's & a big enough pool for everyone.:sad2:

First time we saw them there and it was nice. I enjoy little surprises like that.
I did not see one kid doingg an activity but then I was not looking. Jambo has lots.
That is how I feel about the resorts.

it was very nice. :thumbsup2
I think we are spoiled by Grand Stand at SSR and the pool there being we almost always have it to ourselves.

I can honestly say that I have NEVER seen pictures of the fireworks from the bus stop. That is totally awesome.

Your night shots are great. Seriously - some of them look like they belong on a postcard. What a nice evening in Epcot.

Yum - yeah - I would have been irritated about walking in and finding the bed like that. Yikes! Glad you were able to calm Vinny down.

I think it was cool seeing your pictures of the fireworks from the bus stops! I never knew you got an actually good view from there!

Wait...WHAT??? :faint: Okay, I would have been absolutely LIVID to walk into that room and not see the bed made up. That's ridiculous!!!

Love your pictures & enjoying your report ! Sorry you had a bad experience at Kidani. They should have given you fresh linen and made the bed ! As a DVC owner at AKL that would have been my expectation.

The topiaries are so beautiful!

You had some of the same things that we did at Sanaa. I love that place too!

Still behind, but I won't be able to catch up for a while, getting on a boat now.
