The so-so trip..March madness is at WDW *Updated 7/27* Final thoughts

that stinks about the bag, do you think the mickey tag was stuck on something and tore it?

Sorry to hear that there were flight delays and even sorrier to see that your bag was torn. I bet that somebody wanted the Mickey luggage tag off of it and ripped the whole thing off. :(
It is starting to become normal for delays. :(
I am not sure if someone took it or if a machine ripped it off. :confused3

Delayed planes mmm.... When we went to Universal this Spring our flight outs Buffalo was delayed about 2 or 3 hours !! Of course had we checked before leaving home we would not have had the LONG wait !! But it did provide a good TR title !!!!As Judy hit the bar at 9:30 a:rotfl2:She usually has trouble with her ears on flights , but this time NOTHING :rotfl2:So she may have found a cure for AIR ears :rotfl2:

I agree about the 2 TS fo Le Cellier . I love the cheese soup and your idea with the sides !! Mmmm may have to try that
It is 5 o'clock somewhere. :lmao:
:thumbsup2 when we go that is what I am doing from now on. It worked very nicely.

Can't believe the trip report is almost over. How did it go buy so quickly? At least you have a new trip in the pipeline so we won't have to wait long for another TR :thumbsup2
Thank you. 129 days till we arrive at Disney.

Omg… the laundry room episode… hahahaha… :rotfl2:

Le Cellier looks yummy! We haven't been there yet. I can't eat pork, but the Cheddar Soup just looks so good. Can you have the bacon held, or is it all in the soup as well as on top? :confused3

What a MESS with the flight issues! :worried: That's just a headache after leaving Disney. No matter how it was, it was still vacation and you don't need to have such a struggle to get home!
:lmao: I still laugh thinking about it.
I am sure you can ask for it but it might also be in the soup already. I would call the restaurant directly and ask them. When I make it the bacon is also in it.
I am starting to get used to delays. NYC airports are the worst.

Le Cellier looks good but I agree not worth 2 dining credits. I hate flight delays, JFK seems to have a lot of them.
:thumbsup2 It is good with TIW and have sides and soup.
They definitely do. :headache:

right back at ya. :thumbsup2
Thanks for reading along.

We have found that since LeCellier wen to a Signature restaurant (2 TS credits), it has gone downhill. We would go for the soup and bread only (much prefer Yachtsman for our steaks).

I hate flight delays and I hate when they don't give you an explanation of why.

Too funny about Vinny not hearing his name and his flight changed.

That's awful what happened to your luggage. They are so careless with the bags (my brand new one that Andy got me for Mother's Day already has a huge scratch in it!).

Will anxiously await the wrap-up.
Have yet to try Yachtsman but one day we will,
That is very annoying. I know it was rain delay but the other airports and flights to NYC were going except for my plane.
That made me laugh. he said he never thought he would hear it that way.
They don't care it is not their property. It could have been a machine.

I need to make sure I get some of the soup during the Food & Wine Festival! I don't know that I want to use 2 credits on dining there! :sad2:
Definitely get the soup. If you have TIW i recommend eating there but otherwise no I would not.

that stinks about the bag, do you think the mickey tag was stuck on something and tore it?
I think that is possibility. I have taken 2 other times and nothing happened but this time something did. Either way it is gone though I have gotten a new one and a new bag.

Sad your trip report is over!

I love the grounds in Canada too. Those flowers are beautiful!!! I have heard bad things about those fries as well. They are not true poutine. I really miss it as one credit. Especially the lunch :( Definitely not worth 2 credits.

That stinks about your luggage. Flight workers are just so careless.

I just bought brand new luggage for our trip that is a dark dark pink and I didn't think it could get dirty. Sure enough I got it back from my flight and it is dirty all over the top and there is a rip in in already! And it is supposed to be a lifetime guarantee. So annoyed because it was an expensive bag!

I love Le Cellier's pretzel bread too. I could make a meal of that! I'm not a fan of the over-priced entrees now that they need to justify Signature status even for lunch. I do what you noted and use my TiW card and get some soup, pretzel bread, and maybe another appetizer!

Wow! That was quite a flight delay and how funny that you and Vinny arrived around the same time in NY. Your bag looks like a pair of pants ripped at the back pocket and boxers are showing. The things I see.... I need help!

Looking forward to your wrap up and final thoughts!

I think the grounds outside of the restaurant are so gorgeous.

I agree.

I love this pic.

Beautiful!

Vinny checked us in and then were soon called in. They brought out the bread. These pretzels are so good.

Pretzel bread dipped in cheddar cheese soup - memorably good! ::yes::

Disney birds are so much more exciting than real world birds....or squirrels or rabbits. I don't find myself taking lots of bird/squirrel/rabbit pictures at home, but when I am in Disney World, it's a different story. I think I'm envious that they get to live there. ;)

Thanks. But I will be in Disney in 128 days.
The grounds there is gorgeous. I want to live in the little house. The fries I literally had 3 and that was it. Disgusting. It should be 1 credit for lunch.
It doesn't pay to get nice luggage. :sad2:

Glad you are gonna try Judy's cure for Air Ears !!!:rotfl2::rotfl2:
:thumbsup2
I always drink on the plane regardless of the time. Bloody Mary's all around.

It is the only way to eat there now I feel.
It was really weird we got there at the same time practically.
:rotfl2: What a way to describe the bag. That made me laugh.
:thumbsup2

I agree.
:thumbsup2

Beautiful!
Thanks

I agree. I always said I want to come back as a bird at Disney but then I was informed they do not live long so I decided to be a turtle that just swims around.

  • It was a very nice trip and a very laid back and relaxing trip. Unfortunately we did not care for Kidani at all and will never stay there again but will try for Jambo again one time.
  • POP is a great resort when you are not looking to break the bank. I did find it quiet and just love the cm’s there as they do have fun.
  • We did both DDP and TIW and loved it. We could have an appetizer if we wanted and still get a meal and dessert with the plan but now I think we will stick only with TIW.
  • Transferring from resort to resort. This is so easy and we now love doing split stays being Disney makes it so simple for it to happen.
  • Crowds. There were quite a bit of them. I did email Disney and told them that it should be posted on their website or an email should go out and tell people about cheerleaders and such being there. December I know we are there for POP Werner but I am prepared for it. I hope.
  • Overall it was a great trip. We never made it past IASW in Fantasyland so we did not see my favorite POTC or HM or the new potty. LOL

I do have a Pre TR going if anyone is interested. I would love to see you there.
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=3096958

We leave the day after Thanksgiving and it cannot come soon enough.
December’s trip should be interesting for one reason. I am now going through the process of having Gastric Sleeve done. I am being tested and hoping I can have it done soon. It will definitely impact my dining part of my trip but luckily I heard alcohol is not a problem. Thank god. **Update** I passed all the tests now I am waiting for the date.

Thank you again for reading and see you in December with a trip report of 14 days in Florida.

Wonderful report Scott...loved it all. We arrive the day after Thanksgiving too and we are counting the days. Hope to see you there...maybe I will actually start a PTR.

Sad you trip report is over; sorry you did not like Kidani, but I don't think I would like Pop. We can't wait to get to Kidani in 2 weeks.

Dining will definitely be different after your surgery :thumbsup2

Thank you. I hope we see you too there.

Thanks for a great TR
Thanks for reading.

Great TR Scott !!! Looking forward to more and to seeing you in December !!!!
Thank you. See you then.

POP is nice if you know where to stay. I really cannot believe Vinny likes it. Some people might not know this but he is a upper west side snob. :lmao: that is what I used to call him when I first met him but he love sit there but we do love DVC more.
Have a magical trip.
I am definitely thinking that so no ddp for me. I think.

So sorry that your TR has come to an end! DH and I went to Le Cellier back in 2010 before it went to 2 credits, we paid OOP though (sort of, we had a gift card from the promotion they were doing at the time that we used for TS meals). I love their bread :thumbsup2 . I preferred the sourdough bread in the soup though, I liked the pretzel bread plain (although I wanted to ask for mustard to dip it in, LOL)

Love the pics of that garden in Canada. I think it is such a pretty area.

Crazy that you ended up at the airport together after both your flights were delayed. Sorry about your ripped bag.

:rotfl2: about the mustard. I have thought that.
it is really pretty there.
it was odd that we did that. Thanks. I have a new one and hoping it lasts a while.

Great wrap-up, Scott.

I'm sorry you didn't like Kidani; we loved it and hope to stay there next year with the newlyweds.

The groups are a major headache. You will be fine with Pop Warner as long as they are not at your resort like they were ours (we very rarely saw them in the parks).

I am hoping we will meet up in December.

Proud to say, I am around and not an absentee moderator.
I stuck with your TR from Beginning to End.

Good luck with your Gastric Sleeve surgery. Please talk to people that have had it done. I just think people who have had it done are the most honest about some of the side effects and the great results they had.

I was looking into going after Thanksgiving, but I played the devils advocate and agreed to jury duty either November or December. And rumor has it, this may be the last year for the Osbourn Lights. I'll be so sad if I don't get to see them.

Thank you. Now I can start reading others again and get back to my pre tr.
It just didn't feel Disney to us but glad others like it. I do if we go next year stay at Beach Club or Jambo.
We are aofa and SSR.
I hope so too.

:banana: Thank you for sticking around.
I have been as I posted on Facebook and friends have pm'd me telling they had it done.
Eww, jury duty.
That would be a great loss if they lost the lights.

Thanks for another wonderful trip report Scott. Can't wait to read all about your Christmas trip.

Good luck and prayers for your upcoming surgery.
