The so-so trip..March madness is at WDW *Updated 7/27* Final thoughts

I love the Safari. It's the best part of Animal kingdom in my opinion, but I do hate the long line it can have! My girls love it too! :goodvibes Looks like you had some good luck with the animals being out and about!

The safari is one of my favorite things to do, and you got some great shots. I love the girafee playing peek-a-boo with you. :goodvibes

Yay!!! I'm all caught up. I got really behind for a while, but I loved reading through and catching up on your trip. Love the safari pictures!!

Great presentation of "the animals" on safari. Seriously, you got some really great pictures. The animals must have been close to the safari truck. Like you, I want to do the Trek someday. Now, if they'd just lower the prices so I could.

I just edited my leopard (or are they cheetahs?) pictures. They were in the exact sam position.

Of course, true to form, I did not get a decent picture of the lions. Boo!

Nice shots!

I love your pictures and your narrative from the safari :lmao:

I've never been in that line where it went outside the covered area, wow, that was a long wait!

It is a great attraction.
I will do fastpass again if I get in and the line is long again.
:thumbsup2

Thanks for reading along and glad you're caught up.

Looks like you had a good safari, even got to see the lions. :thumbsup2
it was a very good safari.

Thank you.
Some of the animals were close. The rhino was the closest I think.
They have a discount for $50 off going now. I have to lose weight before I can do it.

I think cheetahs. Not sure. :rotfl2: they are just lazy I guess but I will not test out the theory near them.
I find the lions so hard to photograph.
Thanks.

I always love seeing Kilimanjaro 'animals'. :thumbsup2

We'll call this one a mandrill. Like Rafiki. :)
:thumbsup2 good way to say the name of them.
:thumbsup2

I love the pic of the Giraffe peeking around the tree
Thanks. That is one of my favorites.

I've never been in that line where it went outside the covered area, wow, that was a long wait!
:rotfl2: it was very descriptive.
I had no idea it went outside the covered area. :confused3
it was long.

Thanks for the safari-you got some great pics!
Thank you

Really great pics! :thumbsup2
Thank you

After our long safari we decided to leave.

We were having dinner with Aubrey and Lincoln in Epcot so we decided to the Beach Club bus.

Now mind you on facebook I saw Aubrey check in that they were eating lunch. Vinny said I doubt they will be hungry but hey they are kids. We were off.
We got off at Boardwalk.

I stopped here but could not decide on what kind I wanted so I got none. LOL

I said to Vinny let’s walk over to Epcot but he wanted to take a boat.

Thank you.

I guess we were still on the dock. LOL. I thought we were on the boat already.

Now our boat was there.

Gorgeous.

We then made it to our destination and we sat down as we were early.

I text Aubrey and she said they were on the bus. We sat and people watched.

Vinny went up and talked to the hostess and they held it for us but he eventually went up and told them it was just us. They could not hold it any longer. I know he was upset over it being we don’t get to her see much but we went in and had our delicious dinner.

In case you were not sure where we were.

The menu: We both had the price fixe menu and shared the escargot.
Drink –
Kir Royale = Scott & Red Wine – Vinny

Apps –
Scott & Vinny (we split it)– Cassolette d'escargots de Bourgogne au beurre persille - casserole of escargots (snails) from Burgundy baked in parsley and garlic butter

We both had soup.
Scott - Bisque de Homard - Lobster bisque

Vinny - Soupe a l'oignon gratinee - the classic onion soup topped with Gruyere cheese

Entrees:
Scott - Gratin de macaroni - Baked macaroni with cream and gruyere cheese

Vinny - Plat de cotes de boeuf au Cabarnet avec pates - Beef short ribs braised in Cabernet with pasta, pearl onions and mushrooms

Dessert:
Scott - Profiteroles au chocolat - Puff choux with vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce

The total for the drinks and the escargot came to $37.32 with tax and tip and discount. The rest was on the dining plan.

Review –
Just wonderful. We love this place. I cannot ever remember having a bad meal here. It feels a little cramped to me but it is fine the food makes up for it.

Up next,

Epcot at night

Your meal looks delicious! WOW! But I have to say my favorite part looks like the dessert (that's probably because I just finished eating dinner and haven't had dessert :rotfl:)

Just that boat trip was fantastic and then to get that awesome dinner - wow - so lucky

If I ever get around to eating here, this very well may be what I get. Looks delicious!
:thumbsup2
You should try the place. It is so good. Vinny enjoyed everything he had.

I love those escargot is amazing so delicious.
:thumbsup2 I agree. Yum!

Yummy! I want that Gratin de Macaroni NOW
Me too.

After our great meal we decided to walk the long way around. Here we go walking. First up is Morocco.

Then of course was Japan.

America.

Then we came to Italy.

It was busy here.

Test Track. Still prefer the original.

Then we came to the area for “Cars”.

They had it really nicely decorated.

My favorite, Tow Mater.

Lightning McQueen

I will stop here and continue in the next posting.

Up next,

More of Cars and the end of the night.

P.S. only 4 more updates to go and we are done. This is the longest it has taken me to write a trip report. Then I will concentrate on the pre tr.
