The so-so trip..March madness is at WDW *Updated 7/27* Final thoughts

omg.....too funny about Vinny & the bird!! :rotfl2: But.....no pics??? That would have been good!
It happened way too fast. 2 birds flew in front of us and one in back and maybe he tried to cut over to join the others and his wing hit Vinny in the head. It was very funny.
I wish I did.

Poor Vinny!!! People who hate cats are always the ones the cats rub up against:rotfl2: Carol shares Vinnies fear/hatred of birds !!! When we were at Universal, we went to see the Animal Show and..... birds swooped down and she insisted I planned it !!:confused3:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:
:rotfl2: that is so true.
:rotfl2: Vinny said I planned it to happen at the bird show in AK. granted I knew they do fly low but I had no idea where. :)

I had never seen The Animal Show to know about the Birds, but I still got blamed !!!!:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Thank god for the safety as I walk.

I think this area is so gorgeous.

So brave we are to walk where tigers roam! This area is so wonderfully themed. It's an example of why other parks pale in comparison to Disney Parks.... for me, at least.

We enjoy and appreciate the trails, too, and don't understand those who think AK is a half day or skip it park. But, I guess we should be happy for that, because it means they are out of our way for us to enjoy it in a less crowded way. :thumbsup2

You guys really had a late night at MK. I don't blame you getting a late start the next day.
That is so funny about the bird attacking Vinny!
I love the tigers.

Wow, you three really did shut the Magic Kingdom down! I'm quite envious!

Great pictures so far at the Animal Kingdom. I could wander those trails forever but John gets bored so he usually waits outside on a bench and people watches. Maybe he and Vinny could share a bench while you and I wandered through the aviary. :rotfl:

:rotfl2: yes we are. I completely agree.
Every park to us is a half day but then we go back again later in the trip. But I know what you mean. I find too many things to see to not want to go back.

Yes we did.
:lmao:
They are beautiful but never want to meet one up close and personal without a barrier. :rotfl:

we did and I loved it. Vinny won't do things like that.
:lmao: that sounds like a very nice plan.

Poor Vinny. I fell off my ECV in the Frankenstein's boot there last October. I was so busy taking a picture that I never noticed the birds plotting their attack. Kristle thought it was funny as did several other people there. Me not so much.

I'm with Vinny.... I HATE birds. Not my idea of fun to hang out in an aviary. As fascinating as those bats are to look at, the moment they would start flying I would freak out. The only time I went in there to see them I noticed that they had freaky little hands. At least you have some great photos!

Those tigers could have looked a bit more excited to see you! :)

I'm really late to the game here on your TR but I'm loving it and subbing in!
:welcome: it is never too late. Well I guess after they close and lock the thread? :confused3 :rotfl2:
Thanks for joining.

:rotfl2: I mean I am so sorry. :lmao: I would have been with kristle thinking it was funny.

I thought they don't fly.
I completely agree. I spend all this time and money to see them and they just lie around. So rude! :rotfl2:

Okay so we go over and see the line is long for the safari but it says 35 minutes so let’s go. It is now 1:42pm.

The good thing about a long line is you get to see things you missed before. I am usually walking past all of these.

Little did I know the line went outside. See the guy in the green with the hat to the left well he is facing the way the line went there then you go around and then you all the way down to the end that you can see.

45 minutes later we are back in the building.

I passed the time with taking pics of the items around us.

I never knew there a canoe there.

You lookin’ at me?

He could have walked this line faster. LOL

I think we might be getting closer.

I can see a truck.

Remember these rules when you ride.

Then we finally got on the truck. The time now is 2:48pm.

I was not too happy but was happy we finally made it. I think I am going to stop here because I have a lot of safari pics. Well not a lot but more than I can post here.

Up next,

The ride starts

I have never had to wait long for Safari, of course in October we will have GAC cards , but in December not so lucky!!!Those cards are sooo grat for our trips with the Disabled , we are able to really give them a great vacation thanks to GAC!!!

Seriously - Vinny hates birds and one attacked him? So NOT funny, but I'm laughing anyway. :rotfl2:

I love that trail. It's gorgeous back there.

Yikes - long wait for Safari. I can honestly say I have always been in the FP line everytime I have ridden it. Looking forward to your animals pics.

Wow...that is a long wait for the safari. We normally do Fast Pass, but we have gone through the standby line on occasion and don't think we have ever waited that long. :scared1:

It is fun to go through the standby line on occasion to see all the stuff you miss. They do such an amazing job with the themes in each area.

we never have either till then. The most we waited was 20 minutes. Those cards are really good when used in the right way unlike what was in the news.

it was the longest I have seen.
I agree. They do an amazing job with the theme.

Scott what was in the news about GAC cards?? I know I have sen people with a wheelchair and NO ONE who needs it:sad2:

I'm usually moving so fast through the queue that I don't see all of that stuff. I need to learn to stop and appreciate the details and just let people pass me sometimes!

The people who hired the others in wheelchairs so they can get to the front of the line. Now Disney is looking at their policy for GAC. I just hope it doesn't hurt the ones who truly need it.

Just don't stop that long. :rotfl2: it took quite a while to get through but it was nice to see everything.

I am bad at saying what the animals are so I now present you, animals.

I see you in there.

I saw a group on the Wild Africa Trek. I would love to do that one day.

Crocs and not the ones on my feet.

I love when you get to the savannah part.

Just sitting around.

Then we saw giraffes.

Loved seeing one of them drinking.

Peek a boo

It is funny to see an ordinary car out there.

A group having lunch.

If you look straight back you will see a monkey or a baboon or whatever it is.

Then we came to the elephants.

Yum, I mean ostrich.

Con't...

Then we came to a rhino.

He was just walking along.

He came close to us.

Very quick video of rhino.

Gorgeous. I was so mad I did not have my zoom lens.

The Misses was up but he was not.

Useless land right now.

Then our tour was over. The entire thing from the first sign to the last pic was exactly 90 minutes. WOW!

Up next,

Off to dinner
