The so-so trip..March madness is at WDW *Updated 7/27* Final thoughts

I'm finally all caught up! I had to take a break from the DIS to focus on my Capstone and finishing my BA in Liberal Arts. Great report. Random thoughts in no particular order-- Coral Reef looked delish. I really want that pink Grey Groose Slushie right this second. That was sad about the dead butterfly's in the butterfly house! Have never stayed at AKL but it never seemed my kinda resort and not very "Disneyish" if you know what I mean? I see you are going at Christmas! Super jealous. Going to read that PTR now.
:thumbsup2
That is a good reason to stay away.
Thanks.
The pink slushie is the best.
The dead butterflies surprised me.
Jambo House is Disney like I think. Kidani not so much.

Slow is good...it'll stay away :thumbsup2 And a yummy diet!!! Rock on! Awesome:flower3:
:thumbsup2

After a great safari we naturally had to walk through a forest.

Not off to a good start being they did not want to cooperate.

This was not much better.

Then I looked up and saw these.

Then we came up to the fish.

Then we saw more fish.

Empty.

Nap time.

Learning a little info on gorillas.

Do you see this one all the way in the back? He was playful and was just running all around. It was very funny.

So peaceful.

Then we walked around a little.

Then we came upon a cart that I saw was serving my favorite thing, margaritas. I got the yeti triple blast margarita. You can see what is in it in the pic below. (I borrowed the next pic from Google.)

Here is the pic.

I will say it was good. The entire time we were sitting there this family at another table was letting their child terrorize the birds and they just sat there. It just makes my blood boil and I wanted to scream at them but I controlled myself. I will definitely get another one.

Here is one of the birds.

I think I will stop here for now.

Up next,

A new discovery

Mark and I missed the trails last time...we have to make sure to hit them this time. I hate when parents allow their children to terrorize birds, squirrels (even though I detest the little buggers) or any other animal.

Your margarita looks yummy...but I'm not a big margarita drinker (pina coladas -- yes!).

I love the trails. The gorillas have to be my favorite though. I can spend all day at the zoo here just watching them.

The margarita looks good. I have never had one as I can't get past the worm in the tequila. My luck it would end up in my drink. :scared1:

I love the peaceful walk through the trails. I never could drink a frozen margarita I find them too sweet.

I surely could go for a triple Yeti blast right now! Yum!!!!!

I hate when kids antagonize animals. I remember a little boy chasing the baby ducks at BCV's one spring. Poor babies.

We don't hit them every trip.
So do I. Pay attention to your kid and parent is what I say.
It was delicious. Pina Coladas I can have once a year. I am not a fan of coconut.

I also love the gorillas.
:rotfl2: I think you would see it in there.

Me too.
I will drink it for you. :lmao:

So could I. I leave on Sunday for Aruba so I can have a drink there.
So rude.

I really need to pay attention to people's siggies !!! Late is not the word for me !!!
:rotfl2: I have the same problem.
Welcome.

I'm caught up! Those breakfast potatoes at The Mara don't look so yummy. Maybe they were going for the "they look overcooked and dried out but they are really delicious" look. :confused3 But a Mickey waffle makes it all better! I'm sure we'll be visiting this place in August.

I've never been on the safari.. hopefully next trip I will rectify that. Those crocs fascinate me. I don't suppose they allow the flamingos to have play time with the crocs? Speaking of flamingos, they sure are beautiful birds. Great photos of all the animals - especially the lion.

The triple Yeti blast looks refreshing and tasty! After a couple of those I would likely have the guts to tell the parents of the kids terrorizing the birds what I thought.

I wish you a wonderful trip to Aruba!! :beach:

I love the walking trails. The tigers are my favorite but really love it all.

I also hate it when the parents sit there & don't do anything when there child is annoying!!

Have a wonderful time in Aruba!!! My sister & brother in law are taking all 3 of their kids & all their grandchildren next Feb.

I don;t remember them being dry so they must have been okay. :confused3
You must do a safari, it is so much fun seeing the animals.
:rotfl2: that would be a different experience if a flamingo went by a croc.
Maybe after a few I would have.
Thank you.

Me too. The tigers I love.
 this is me. LOL
Thanks. That is nice of them.

Loved your walk through of the trails! :goodvibes
Thank you.

The gorilla pictures were great, they are usually asleep when I go through there, so it was nice to see them awake! :thumbsup2

I always do the treks and the Trails when I am solo, but sometimes there isn't time when I do my Free Trips or go with the family!!!! Great pix and that drink looked very colorful, I don't drink, but I like the colors !!!

Ooh, that frozen margarita looks so refreshing!

We always skipped the trails when the kids were little; now we wouldn't miss 'em! You always seem to "discover" something new...

Thanks.
Usually I see them sleeping. Some were and some were not. The one was very active in the back.

We try to do them as much as possible.

It was very refreshing.
Very true about seeing something new.

After my drink (Vinny had nothing) we walked and ended up here.

Vinny was jealous I had something so he wanted something. LOL. He decided to try the Jalapeno Pretzel after I suggested it after reading about it in peoples TR’s. Here he is with it.

Can I just say WOW! I took a bite and this was so good. It might appear again later in the trip. I had a bottle of water here. The total for pretzel and water was $ 7.29.

While we were sitting there we saw someone pass us.

After his snack we decided to go onto one of my favorites in AK.

Here are some pics of the tree.

It was a great show. I love the effects in there. Then we decided to leave. Here are the crowds as we left.

We were heading here to check into our new resort.

I am still shocked Vinny liked this place.

We are there.

Check in time. Here is the lobby as we walked in.

It went very fast. I did check in before we arrived and it was done very quickly so then we went off to our room.

Here is the room.

This was waiting for us.

Then we took a nap or swam. I am not quite sure which one. I will say nap.
I think I will stop here.

Up next,

MK for 1 ride

P.S. – I am off to Aruba tomorrow for a week so the next update will be after June 2nd.

Have a great time in Aruba. Are you both going? Still enjoying your TR and look forward to hearing more.

I've heard great things about the Jalapeno Pretzel; unfortunately, I don't like Jalapeno

We have yet to even visit POP...I just can't do values anyore

Have a great trip...can't wait to hear all about it.

I LOVE Pop !! I sthe only place I have stayed !!! My sense of direction is SOOOO bad I get lost in bigger resorts!! AK is a prime example I have to ask direction to find my way out !!!:rotfl2:
