The Smiths are Heading Back...For 10 Days of Disney Magic! (Updated 8/16)

We are not doing the dining plan for the first time, and are going to try snacking more throughout the day and eating 1 big meal, we will see how the numbers work out in the end.

Have you thought about having stuff delivered from Garden Grocer? We were really happy with them and are of course using them again. A Case of water being the most important delivery for August heat. We usually go the week after Labor Day so anticipate the heat will be the same as we are used to. We go back to the room to swim/nap/cool off every afternoon and make good use of evening EMHs. We also schedue dinners ADRs at 7pm to give us extra relaxing time in the afternoon.

What a great list - THANK YOU for sharing it.:cool1: Ironically, I made a 'pretend' list last night while doing my usual 'pretend' DVC trip planning to get an idea of how much groceries from Garden Grocer would cost to actually 'cook' dinner at a DVC versus the dining plan. I have read many threads about this and I probably will use the dining plan when our entire family is there, especially since my DH really enjoys the dining experiences (of course we all do!). We have always packed a suitcase FULL of food to eat in the room, then we have an empty one for our purchases on the way home. But I'm thinking your idea makes more sense with our upcoming August trip and just my son and I traveling alone, less luggage then our usual! Thanks again.:woohoo:

The list is overly heavy on salty snacks but other than that it's ok!!! What I do is keep a favorites list on Garden Grocer and then as I think of something else, I just add it to the favorites. Aisling is NOT a rope-drop person. So we eat breakfast in the room. It's so nice to have a fridge at DVC for that (not to mention a toaster and microwave). I can also have my morning tea. Hot tea, not sweet tea. Southerners look at you like you are nuts if you order hot tea so I like to sneak one in the room before we leave for the parks :rotfl2: I love not having to travel with snacks for the parks. Takes up so much valuable room in the suitcases. Garden Grocer is definitely more pricey than you would pay at home but it's cheaper than luggage fees through the airlines :thumbsup2

Sorry to hear about Ash's toe but I agree that not telling her was a good plan! :thumbsup2 on the new purchases!

Aww poor Ash & her toe! I hope it heals quickly! :goodvibes

Too bad you didn't get a Nook instead of a Kindle, we could share books!

Wow I am coming over for a snack! :thumbsup2
My friend swears by Garden Grocer....and they are perfect for what you are doing!
Sorry about the toe...ouchy!!!:sad2: Hopefully she'll be all healed by then!
I went crazy with crocs for our trip in 2009. I couldnt decide what color/style and I finally just went with pink croc sandals for the girls. Well, they were the best thing ever!!! They wore them every day and even if it didn't match exactly, it really didnt' matter like I thought it would. So there's my 2 cents! ;)

The trip is really getting close! :woohoo:

I debated the Nook Color. But the price difference was the deciding factor. I wanted to get that flash too ;)

It IS getting close! 43 days! I wish there was just one color that would make her happy. She wont even go to camp with mis-matched crocs. Little fashionista!

Shout out to Cathy everyone. She is reselling some of her customs and the money is going to GKTW :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I've never seen someone's GG list - and I must say I enjoyed seeing what's on yours! :thumbsup2

I probably should explain all the salty snacks. 1) we just are salty snack people BUT 2) We give Aisling salty snacks at WDW to make her drink. Kid will NOT drink water without constant nagging. And who wants to nag on vaca??? So salty snacks work fine

How is DD's toe doing???? It usually gets ugly:eek: looking with the bruising.

I love salty snacks:woohoo: - so your list is PERFECT (I used to be more of a sweet tooth, but I'm guessing the hormones at age 39 are heading me toward the salty!!!)

I bought a new Vera Bradley backpack, wallet, and a few other supplies online today, on sale with free shipping for our August trip. :cheer2: I have the mini Vera backpack, but I just felt it was too small last trip. I picked the 'Color me Coral', but it's more pink and I love pink and my DD6 will likely inherit it (or steal it from me). I love the pre-trip shopping!!! I also got DS12pirate: some Teva sandals today, he has had some foot problems, so I figured these are better for him than his usual crocs.

Happy TGIF tomorrow!:)

New Vera(s)...so jealous! Myself and Jennifer48 have a slight Vera obsession (ok I have a bag obsession in general) Where did you order? I wouldn't mind a new wallet for the trip :rolleyes1

So most of you know that we FINALLY made it up to Maine for the first time this summer from FB. Aisling's foot was feeling much better so she activated her season ride pass and made full use of it while Randy and I had an adult only dinner (my mom took Ash downtown).

We did have a ton of fun playing with my new camera on the beach. Here is a sampling

The fun part of the night was when I was leaving the candy shop, a teenaged employee came over an informed me that I was only allowed to take 1 picture in the store. I have been taking pics in this store since I owned a camera so this was really bizarre. I think my camera equipment has grown to the point that it scares people and they think I'm some kind of professional. :rotfl2: Nope...just a crazy person who takes pics like this

I'm SO jealous of your camera! I think I am going to make you my photographer while we are there! Those pics are great! Love the ones of Ash on the beach! I can't believe how close your trip is getting!!!!

I'll take as many pics as you would like. MY family gets fairly annoyed with all the picture taking :rotfl2:

Great pictures! It looks like you guys had a lot of fun. That is so strange that they wouldn't let you take multiple pictures in the store. :confused3

Looks like fun at the amusement park - may I ask what FB stands for, just curious!

I ordered my Vera wallet on the Vera website:
http://www.verabradley.com
and I clicked on the sale fabrics...I actually wanted Color me Coral and it was on sale! So I got the backpack, small cosmetic, coin, wallet, check book cover - a little splurge, but I don't do that often. I have always had nice 'name brand' purses and have been sporting a cheap wallet for so long, so I thought a Vera wallet would be nice. (designer wallets are as much as the purses sometimes!)
