The Siren’s Song of Free Dining May 2011-Pics from our March 2010 trip added!

whoops! i really was wrong. We have LTT that night at CP later in the week. I forgot that I switched it when my dad rolled his eyes about meeting the Pooh characters. Yes, I will try to set up a Dis meet that week. What about May 31 by the pool bar in the afternoon?

The 31st would work in the eveningish! We are going to Kennedy Space Center in during the day, then heading back for a relaxing evening by the pool . . .

Well let's see if I was going to Kennedy I could be back by the pool by 2:30. Of course my DH is a rocket scientist who works for NASA and so we would be home by midnight.:headache: How would 6pm work? If you need later let me know. Blackbelt and I have the evening free.

Oh my goodness, my DH has degrees in physics/astronomy and math! Your DH and my DH will have LOTS to talk about. We'll be at the pool by 6pm. Can't wait!

Just found your PTR and can't wait to read morepopcorn::

We will be at WDW at the same time you are but are staying at POP.:thumbsup2

How funny it is that you guys have meet on the DIS and have so much in common. I can't wait to read about your DISmeet in the TR.:thumbsup2

I am in shock we are only 33 days away from our trip . . . And I have a chronic case of addonitis!

As I stated in my first post, my dream resort is AKL. We are a family of animal lovers (3 cats and a puppy), and it is my favorite park. DH and I almost upgraded to AKL, but decided to sign up for the Wild Africa Trek instead. So the three of us are trekking on June 3rd at 8am. Can't wait!

Next, I decided we need to try the Wishes dessert party, since Wishes is my favorite nighttime show. DH likes it, but he can't stand the whole "stake your spot two hours prior to showtime" requirement. So, everyone wins by booking the party: DH gets sweets and little wait, I get Wishes!

I will be sure to review both experiences when we return!

:thumbsup2I love your add-ons! I haven't done either of them......so I am excited to see how you like them.:woohoo:

I found your PTR by searching on "Wild Africa Trek". I'm really curious about this and want to hear how you like it. Unfortunately, no actually - luckily, I'll be in Disney June 3rd so you review will be too late for this trip. But I'm actually, mentally, working on planning a trip Dec 2012 and maybe the Trek will be a good addition for that trip (which only exists in my mind at this point!).
AKL is my favorite too - but this coming trip I'll be at CBR - first time there!

Sometimes, I think the 180 day ADR booking window is evil! You get so excited for your "ADR" day, become obsessed with planning your days/meals/reviewing menus/park hours, constantly second-guess your choices, and then you call (or log-in), hold your breath, pray your perfectly aligned ADR wish list is still available and then . . . it's over. All your reservations are made, and you STILL have 180 days more until your vacation. Sigh.

Luckily, I do have a life outside of my obsession for all things Disney. A few months after making my ADRs, my daughter decides to cut her hair for locks of love. She has been growing her hair out since her 10th birthday (with only trims in between), so this is a big deal. The stylist was able to trim 10 inches of her hair and, because my kiddo's hair is so thick, we received a personal thank you from the regional coordinator for the "quality" of her donation. Here are some pictures:

After she finished her hair cut, DD said she can't wait to grow it out again so she can donate another ponytail. Love this kid!

That is awesome! Your daughter rocks!!!! She does have beautiful hair and to know someone who is very ill will be able to enjoy her donation is absolutely fabulous!

Thanks for sharing!:goodvibes

Thanks so much for commenting! I am sure she will be much cooler at WDW less 10 inches of hair! :rotfl2:

PS--I can't believe how close us end-of-May folks are getting. Only 3 weeks until we are at Disney!

Will it never cease? I've subscribed to the "Wishes/Illuminations Cruise to Share" thread, hoping that a fellow DIS'er would have a cruise to share during our trip. Lo and behold, a fellow DIS'er posted a Wishes cruise to share for our arrival night. So, after our arrival dinner at Narcoossee's, we'll be sharing a premium Wishes cruise. I am so excited, since Wishes is my favorite nightime show . . . and I've never taken a Wishes crusie before, so this will be a first for us! I will be sure to snap lots of pictures.

Remember that game from The Price is Right, Cliff Hangers? If not, check out this YouTube clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-nvL5D5I0c8&feature=youtube_gdata_player. I feel as excited as Melissa, the random Price Is Right contestant featured in the youtube video, yodeling my way to May 27th!

So, we're climbing the May mountain of anticipation and here is the fun things we're doing to get us through the month:

1. Watched Corpse Bride, one of my favorite Tim Burton movies. Does anyone else think of the Haunted Mansion whilst watching Corpse Bride?!?

2. Decorated our Mousekeeping envelopes with Tangled Stickers!

3. Watched Lilo and Stitch. We haven't watched it in years, and it was so funny!

4. Walking our new puppy LOTS as training for our trip. Poor puppy is exhausted, especially after the five mile trek yesterday!

5. Cleaned off a spot on the porch for my Mickey Garden gnome. He WILL be coming home with me this trip. I am bringing a suitcase just for him.

6. Pre-ordered the Lego Pirates of the Caribbean video game. The UPS man should be dropping off my package of swashbuckling goodness on May 10th. Arrrrrghhhh! pirate:

Only 22 more days!

I love doing little countdown things!! I have the next 2 weeks packed just so I can get to May 26th faster...but then I want to put on the brakes and make things move in very slow motion!! :goodvibes

That is so cool that your DD donated her hair! She has such pretty hair (from the pictures) that someone will be very lucky!

What is it about an upcoming WDW trip that turns me into a shopaholic? In my normal life, I buy what I need plus some occasional luxuries (I can't go too crazy because I am always saving my pennies for my next Disney fix). But, tell me I'm going to WDW, and I have to buy things I will only need/use/want for my week-and-a-half trip to Disney nirvana.

Here are my most recent splurges:

  • The eternal quest for the perfect backpack (I have not found one yet) resulted in this Vera Bradley splurge:

  • We love Star Wars, and we are going to SWWs, so I couldn't resist making "non-matching" tanks for DD and me on zazzle (I like Yoda, and DD loves Darth Vader):

I cannot believe we only 14 more days left until we leave. :woohoo:
