The Siren’s Song of Free Dining May 2011-Pics from our March 2010 trip added!

Love the haircut and love the purchases. We are also making dreaded trip purchases. I need to shop badly but just hate doing it. Only 10 days left for us! Time to get excited! Made my lime green mickey for my camera bag! Holler at me if you see me!

We are so ready to skip town! Pet sitter confirmed, enough sunscreen to keep me white as a storm-trooper packed, cleaning the house as we speak. To occupy my time, I've been making crazy lists. Here is a sampling of my "must-dos" list for this upcoming trip:

  • Art of Animation at DHS (my DD is a budding artist, so I am shocked we haven't done this!)
  • CoP (I have done this, love it, but DD and DH haven't seen it)
  • People Mover
  • New Star Tours (so excited)
  • New queues for Winnie the Pooh and HM
  • Indiana Jones Stunt show (haven't seen this since 2006)
  • Snap a picture of DD in the Lobby of ToT (we have a picture from each trip here)
  • See Remy at Chefs (keeping our fingers crossed that he's working)
  • Watch the movies in France and China
  • Sum of All Thrills

To get the family excited about our upcoming trip, we watched a slideshow of pictures from our March 2010 spring break trip. We had so much fun reliving our last trip I thought I would share!

DD with Eeyore (she was growing out her bangs, and boy-how does she remind me of Violet from The Incredibles)

No more smoking breaks for DH! Although I bet he won't put down the Crackberry . . .

Yep, I believe being a shopaholic is part of the territory for planning for Disney. DD has 4 swimsuits and so many clothes we will probably have to leave some of them home. Yesterday I bought her and DS another pair of shoes for the trip. I keep telling myself that we need to pack light for this trip. :rotfl2:

It sounds like you are getting pretty excited! Almost as excited as I am....:lmao:

I really  your purchases, to do list and all your previous pics. I am so ready, I can hardly stand it anymore!!!!
:goodvibes

After nine months of planning, I cannot believe I can say we leave next week! I still have lots to do before we go. Here is what I'm hoping to accomplish before we leave:

  1. Work out 6 more times so I can splurge a bit on food and wine!
  2. Go to Celcius Tannery for a Versa Spa (spray tan) session before next Friday--I don't want folks to have to cover their eyes because I currently glow in the sunlight!
  3. Mani/pedi over lunch on May 25th (hoping I can slip away from work)
  4. Cajole my 13 year old to clean her floor of the clothes I need to wash before the trip
  5. Go to see the Pirates movie on Saturday afternoon
  6. Watch a few Clone Wars episodes to get us more exicited for SWW (as if we need anything else to incite us into a fevered pitch of excitement!!!)

A House-Full of Sickies
My DH just emailed me to let me know he stopped by Urgent Care because he's had a cold for awhile now, and it was confirmed as a sinus infection, so he's on antibiotics. I'm so glad he stopped by the Minute Clinic, because flying with a sinus issue would have been so painful!

Our puppy is on his last day of antibiotics. We think he ate a dead bird (there were incriminiating feathers on his oh-so-innocent face) and had contracted a bacterial infection in his intestines. He was so sick, he lost 2 lbs in 2 days, but he is doing much better now. We take him back to the vet on Saturday to re-test for bacteria.

I am crossing my fingers that DD and I stay healthy!!!

Yet Another Dining Reservation, You Exclaim?
We weren't planning on eating at a Table Service restaurant on our SWW day (June 4th), but I decided to make a ressie at 50's PT in case we are tired/hungry/in desperate need of AC. I have a feeling we might be wiped out by 4:15pm, which is when we are eating. Hopefully, a nice meal will re-energize us, because we are really hoping to stay to watch Hyperspace Hoopla.

So, I had my first pre-Disney trip nightmare last night. Usually, the nightmares are pretty standard stuff (get on the plane for Orlando, end up in Toledo/Pittsburg/Akron; miss the plane; forget my luggage; etc), but this one was a bit different.

The nightmare!:scared1:
We show up at the scheduled time for our Wild Africa Trek, no transportation problems (I've been worrying about this, since I've heard the parking lot at AK doesn't open until an hour prior to park opening, and we need to be at the turnstyles 1.5 hours prior to opening, but that's another story). As we walk toward the turnstyles, I notice this gigantic gaggle of folks (50+). I think, wow, that's a lot of people. There must be something else going on in the park. Nope, they are all there for the same Trek. For some reason, reservations overbooked this tour, and we were stuck with a group of 50!! I think, okay, the more the merrier, and we proceed to Tusker House to eat breakfast (which is so not part of the tour, so I have no idea why I dreamed this). When then proceeded to eat for two hours of the tour--the tour lasts three hours. I was so angry at this point, and I remember asking my husband over and over why I paid $600 to eat breakfast! Then, our group is gathering together to go on the tour, and I stop by the bathroom. Because the tour is so big, the tour guides don't realize I'm in the bathroom and they leave me! I start to cry, and then I wake up.

Geesh. I hope the next 7 nights aren't as angst-filled!

I shouldn't laugh at your nightmare but I did. It's so funny how in dreams things can be so wrong - like the 50 people and breakfast - and you just accept it and go on. Thanks for sharing!

Hope DH and the pup get better ASAP!

Isn't it great that we can say we will be there next week!! :yay: I had to laugh at your nightmare but also it comforted me in knowing I am not alone in having these type of scary dreams!!!

I just found your PTR and am joining in if you don't mind another. Now back to read.
