The Silly and Mischievous Adventures of Four Crazy Canucks - FINAL THOUGHTS 2/1

Hi Lessa...I am finally catching up on all of my threads. This has been the week from heck!:headache:

Hmm, well there is this one coming up and then I think some of them were talking about next Fall. I won't be going to that one though so I'm not sure.

There is talk about a long weekend over COlumbus day Weekend 2009. Aren't you going on your cruise in 09?

Forgot to ask this in my main update: At a buffet like Tusker House, are your beverages(juice, milk, etc) included in the price of the buffet or are you paying for them separately? We don't usually eat at buffets and last year we were on the dining plan so I didn't really pay attention. I just wanted to know for budgeting purposes.

Juice, Coffee, tea, Soda are included!:thumbsup2 [Pretty much anything non-alcoholic]

We saw it last year and didn't care for it all that much and considering how much time it takes to see it we decided it was not a priority this time around.

I am not in any big rush to see it. I can't see Jimmy sitting that long for a show:confused3

Now don't go making me jealous that you've got a nice busy job keeping you away. ;)

Yep, the cruise is scheduled for May 09 although I am now debating on if we should go or not if I am going to be paying $6000 in tuition for the next few years. I guess it will all depend on if I get into the Nursing program and I won't find that out for a while. It will also depend on how good I am at saving my money over the coming months and you know me that could be quite the challenge. :rotfl:

Good to know, that makes it an even better "deal".

I am not in any big rush to see it. I can't see Jimmy sitting that long for a show:confused3

It is not even just the length of the show (it is pretty long) but the amount of time you have to stand in line beforehand in order to get in and see it. Not worth it in my opinion unless you REALLY love the show.

Tusker House was great! Their juice is sooooo awesome!!!!

That is what I have heard. I already have this idea built up in my head of what it will taste like. I had this amazing juice once when I was in Italy, I have no idea what it was called but it was soooo good. Anyways for some reason that is what I am imagining the jungle juice will be like, I hope I won't be disappointed. :rotfl:

I think AK will be our favorite park on this next trip. Never been but we love animals and the whole look of the place.

Question: In your opinion, oh great and knowledgeable one, is it better to go straight to the safari then get FP for EE? I was thinking of doing it the other way around. We are planning to be at the park until 4:00PM.

Alek and I really love both these rides so we can't wait to ride them again. I'll just have to remember to not wear a skirt on TOT this year. :lmao:

I had a sundress on this year while riding ToT. oops. lol Nice cool breeze, however! :rotfl:

We saw it last year and didn't care for it all that much and considering how much time it takes to see it we decided it was not a priority this time around.
I agree about Nemo. I'm glad we saw it this year, but it is not a repeat for next year. DD & DH weren't very impressed.

The Plan: Day Three

Our second full day in the parks, we are all looking forward to this day as we LOVE Animal Kingdom. Erich is especially looking forward to this day as we have an early morning breakfast ADR at Tusker House for Donald's Safari Breakfast. That boy loves him some breakfast food and combine that with some fun character interaction and he is in heaven. This is the one ADR we are for sure going to keep for the trip; the rest are up in the air and will all depend on if we feel like a big meal and if we feel like spending the money. ;) Since this is such a short trip we are not being too picky about eating counter service most of the time.
We love AK too! I think it's a toss up between that and Epcot. :goodvibes
We will use Mom and Erich's tickets to get fast passes as well so that we can ride twice. I guess that is the one positive thing about having ride chickens in the family, more fastpasses for me and Alek!
We do the same thing with Maddie and Evan's FP's! Bwahahahaha!!! :stir:

We plan on spending the whole day in the park, this won't be difficult since it closes at 6pm. We feel like we missed a lot last year due to the weather and general tiredness when we visited so we hope to make up for that this time around. Here are some must-do's for the day:

Expedition Everest
Kilimanjaro Safari
Festival of the Lion King
Dinosaur
The animal trails which we completely missed last time
Character Meet and Greets
Sounds like a great plan, Lessa. :thumbsup2 I feel like we rarely stopped and really got to see AK our last 2 visits. I really want to take my time and enjoy every inch of that park.

Gotta love your mom, Les! I bet you 3 keep her :lmao: constantly!

Too bad our AK days are different! Would have loved to stalk you crazy canucks!

OOH Tusker House. yummmmmmm I cannot wait to eat here again.

enjoy.

All caught up Lessa, loved the childhood photos, what a cutie :goodvibes

Your brothers are just so hilarious, I loved the car photo :rotfl2:

Not long to go now :yay:

I don't think it matters really which one you get fastpasses for first as they are both so popular. Last year we didn't get fastpasses for EE until we had already been in the park for an hour and we were totally fine getting them, no trouble at all and that was on the 4th of July. This year it is just working out for us that the safari is right next to Tusker House so I am hoping that we will get right on KS at rope drop and then be able to hustle over to EE to grab the fastpasses right after and then just relax the rest of the day without worrying about lines. :goodvibes

Hi , do Crazy Canucks watch the Olympics?

::yes:: We certainly do although I did not catch the opening ceremony as I was soundly asleep preparing for my yucky 4am 12 hour shift.

I had a sundress on this year while riding ToT. oops. lol Nice cool breeze, however! :rotfl:

:lmao: That is pretty much what happened to me. I was wearing a white skirt and then up it went as soon as we dropped. I was paranoid that the ride camera had captured that magical moment. :rotfl:

I agree about Nemo. I'm glad we saw it this year, but it is not a repeat for next year. DD & DH weren't very impressed.

Our feelings exactly, many people love it though and hey it takes a lot of people away from the rest of the ride lines so bonus! :thumbsup2

We love AK too! I think it's a toss up between that and Epcot. :goodvibes

:lmao: For me it is AK and MK although I do enjoy Epcot. :cutie:

That is how we felt about last year, like we didn't really stop much and take the park in. Hopefully we will get the chance to this year. :cutie:

Gotta love your mom, Les! I bet you 3 keep her :lmao: constantly!

:lmao: Mom can be pretty crazy herself sometimes, she usually keeps it all in the house though, she is not a public crazy, just a private one. ;)

Too bad our AK days are different! Would have loved to stalk you crazy canucks!

:lmao: My mom keeps asking me how she is going to know who we are supposed to be stalking. I told her I would leave it to Alek and Erich to get us noticed and not to worry about it. :lmao:

OOH Tusker House. yummmmmmm I cannot wait to eat here again.

enjoy.

I remember your fabulous review of it Scott, so just know if the jungle juice is no good I am blaming you for raising expectations! ;)

Hey Jo!

I thought the car photo was pretty funny too so when I got it from my dad a few days ago I added it to the report, the rest didn't get to see it though as I added it after posting the original update.

For those of you who didn't see the photo here it is

The reason that mom and I will be driving the rental car and not Alek. :rotfl:

Somehow I don't think she is going to be able to miss the Fockers:rotfl:

Day Four: The Plan

This is our Magic Kingdom day! We love this park but then again who doesn't? :cutie:

We have an early morning date to fight over puffy French Toast with a Focker buddy, puggymom, at the Crystal Palace. She has a reservation the same time as us and we have been pre-warned to not get between her and the puffy French Toast or things may get ugly. :lmao: Could make for some interesting trip report material no? Two grown women battling over the last piece of French Toast, could get messy. :rotfl: It is not a for sure thing that we will be going to this meal, it is one of the ADR's we will decide upon once we are there. We may decide to just "sleep in" and save the money. We ate here last year and loved it and it is nice getting into the park before opening. I recommend it to anybody who is unsure if they should book it or not. :thumbsup2

Not sure yet how we are going to get to the Magic Kingdom. We have two options 1) Drive the car to the TTC and then take the monorail or boat over or we can catch the bus from the hotel. Both options have their pros and cons. With the bus option we may face major wait times catching the bus to the park and back again, also if we do decide to take the bus we would be relying on it to get us to the park in time for our ADR. If we take the car then you have the hassle of having to park and then take the monorail or boat over but we would be sure to make our reservation on time. It would also give us a chance to ride on the monorail which we haven't done since 1997. Again this is probably one of those decisions that we will make the day of or the night before.

We plan on spending the whole day in the park, not sure if we will have a pool break or not this day since it is a bit of a hassle to get back to the hotel from this park. If we need a break we can always hop on the monorail and go check out one of the monorail resorts.

On our must-do list for the day:
Buzz Lightyear (Alek and Erich are obsessed with this ride)
Space Mountain
Splash Mountain
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
Mom wants to take the train around the park :confused3
Mickey's Philharmagic
Haunted Mansion (was closed for refurb last year)
Dream Along With Mickey (We LOVE this show)
Wishes

Everything else we fit in is icing on the cake. :cutie:

There are only two attractions that I refuse to repeat this year. The first is Stitch's Great Adventure, it was boring and the smell of the burp made me sick to my stomach. If the others choose to go on this attraction I will just take pictures while I wait for them. The second attraction I will not be wasting my time on again is The Country Bears Jamboree. This show was really dull and you couldn't understand half the things the bears were saying and singing. This show is in need of a major refurb or just needs to go completely.

A big disappointment for us this year is that Spectromagic has been canceled during out entire stay due to the Liberty Square bridge being refurbished. We were so disappointed when we found this out as Spectromagic is such a magical parade. They will be running the Dreams Come True Parade twice this day to make up for it. We will probably opt to catch the second show in the evening since it will be cooler and we won't have to sit in the blazing afternoon sun.

We will of course have to get a Dole Whip to snack on at some point during the day, these are sooo yummy, you really must try one if you have not had one yet.

Here are some pictures from our visits to the Magic Kingdom last year:

Yikes! We've had pretty good ride mojo in the past so I'm praying it sticks around for this trip as well.
