The Silly and Mischievous Adventures of Four Crazy Canucks - FINAL THOUGHTS 2/1

Well as many of you have guessed the one place that I refused to step into was the bat house. Bats majorly freak me out, they turn me into a screaming crying hysterical mess. I encounter them a lot due to working at a university made up of old buildings and I never fail to freak out. I am well-known for my blood curdling screams. Now I am sure that if I had gone into the bat house I would have been fine as the bats are separated from you but I still had absolutely no desire to go in there and look at them, yuck! So while Alek, Erich and Mom went in to view the bats I waited outside of the building. Alek and Erich of course did not fail to make fun of me for it.

Here's one of their pictures :scared:

I was glad when they exited and we could go back to viewing the adorable tigers. Much nicer to look at than the repulsive bats. :scared:

It had pretty much stopped rainy while we were on this trail which made me very happy. :woohoo:

I love how well themed AK is, even the water fountains!

Overall I really enjoyed the Maharajah Jungle Trek (aside from the bats) and I will make sure to do it again on my next trip. :thumbsup2

We had to walk past the Yak and Yeti as we exited the trail and I thought this bathroom mural was very pretty.

Since it wasn't raining and may I dare say it, even a bit sunny, we decided that logically we should ride the Kali River Rapids. :rotfl: First we stopped to visit with this adorable fellow.

Kali was pretty fun, I kept my poncho on so of course Alek and Erich made fun of me once again. If it was going to be hot and sunny for the rest of the day I would not have worn it but the last thing I wanted was to get my clothes all wet only for it to start raining again and then have to put a poncho on over wet clothes, no thanks! :snooty:

As fun as Kali was I was really looking forward to what was next!

Not to make light of your fear, but I thought it was funny that you were afraid of the bats but found the tigers adorable....I would be much more afraid of being chased by a tiger than a bat! ;) That picture your brothers took of the bat is pretty spooky though :scared:

No worries, I am fully aware that my fear is irrational. Bats just really freak me out. I didn't even know I was afraid of them until one night a few years ago one came flying at me down a hallway. I reacted instantaneously, I screamed bloody murder and was on the floor screaming and crying hiding behind my partner. He had no freaking clue what had happened, he thought somebody was coming at us with a gun or something. :lmao: I never lived that day down. :sad2: I still react that way each and every time I encounter them, just can't help myself. :confused3

Tigers on the other hand are adorable and while I know they could tear me to shreds I can't help wanting to give them a big hug. :rotfl:

Lessa, aren't you one of the ones who loves those vampire books???? :rotfl2:

Super photos, as usual, Lessa! :goodvibes

I like bats but even I could've done w/o the closeup! :rotfl2:

Jean

Erich and I thought the bats were adorable they were fuzzy and bathing each other like my bothers and sisters cats do and to prove lessa didn't come in there was definitly nothing from stopping the bats from coming in *why the pictures are so clear with no rope or glass to mess them up* Why lessa was so scared of the fuzzy bats licking each other is beyond me :confused3

*laughs again at lessa going on the get wet ride and not wanting to get wet* :rotfl:

I once had a bat attack me (okay...not attack...but skim my head) at a cave where you get to watch the bat migration every evening. I screamed so loud I made people around me scream. :faint: I may hate bats too...

Thanks on the photos, yeah bats are creepy, especially when they are huge like the ones at AK. :scared:

Were you the BUTT of the Bros jokes Lessa !!:rotfl2:

 You are such a wit Rosie. :lmao: Yes I am often the butt of my brothers jokes.

I think I know what might be nextpopcorn::

Well now I am really glad I didn't go in there with you guys! :scared1: I thought for sure there was glass between you and the bats. :scared1: :scared: :scared1: :scared:

Oh my gosh, I would have fainted from fear. :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Once at our church a bat got into the basement (No not the BELFRY!!) :rotfl2: I ran into the bathrroom :scared1: and left the teens to capture it which they did with a garbage can !! Then we couldn't figure out hoew to get it out from under the can without releasing it !!:lmao:

:rotfl: I was thinking the same thing!!
Great pics!!!

I have had to be rescued from bats while hiding in a bathroom many a time. ::yes::

:rotfl: I was thinking the same thing!!

 Yes but the chances of a bat encounter are much more likely than a tiger attack. ;) Thus the bats are to be feared more. ;)

Good choice not going in with the bats, there's no glass and they smell a bit!!!!

The bars are too close together for them to fly through and they don't have ankles so they can't walk. That's why they hang. ;) And they eat bugs! Guess where I learned that? :rolleyes1

Eww. I'm not a fan of bats either. There was one flying around at my prom. The waiters batted down the poor thing with their round trays. The strange thing was that one of my friends showed up later dressed as Count Dracula (no, it wasn't a costume party prom). It was very peculiar! Anyway, I hate those things! I don't have a phobia of bats, but I do of another animal, so I'm very sympathetic.

The pictures are awesome!
If you want to wear your poncho, that's ok. As long as is dosen't smell like poo!
