The Side effects of the AP-Trip#6 Oct 10 Final thoughts and some TMI

I love that you took pictures of "the hat family" and "the matching sweater family". :rotfl2:

I love that you took pictures of "the hat family" and "the matching sweater family". :rotfl2:

I could not resist. The hat family just did not seem to be pulling off the hats real well. I am not sure if it was because the kids were older but even dad and mom just did not seem like the hat wearing type. Maybe it was thier conversation. I just know I needed a picture of that.

Now the sweater family looked like they were posing for a Christmas picture. The way they positioned themselves, little one in front, big one in the back and the 2 other sisters on either side.

I guess I was channeling my inner Jordan.:rotfl2:

Disclaimer: Neither of these families were being "naughty" or behaving non-Disney like. They just stood out to me as part of my people watching. I do not have any objections to hats or matching sweaters. :rotfl:

Ok, much to Glenn's chagrin, I must confess, we could easily be the matching sweater family. Geeks, live on!!

I LOVE your "just scenery" photos! Especially the one of the garlands in Italy! So pretty!

Sergio... meh...

Sorry to hear it was weird. Sometimes you just need toget away from everything- family included. A Disney holiday vacation can help you keep the holiday spirit without the family drama. :)

Ah well, WE weren't weird, just almost everyone around us was. My siblings, parents and inlaws seem to be in various stages of their own drama. Which made the whole thing a bit odd for Jeff and I. Kids of course were clueless to the adult drama so it's all good. But it was wierd.

I just read this about the Block Party Bash's last performance and it gave me goosebumps. :goodvibes Enjoy.

Last day of Block party bash

I will get to replies tonight or late if I am not too busy at work. :ssst:

So sad about this, I adore BPP, because it is just that, a bash. A non parade, parade.

Sniff.

GREAT updates! Interesting through that Helga reminds you of your mother....

Matching sweater family made me think of my Aunt Joan. :rotfl:

This Helga was spot on.

She was another good storyteller. She really moved around and made sure all the children were engaged.

It made me smile to read about these ladies and their performances. You know they probably get tired of saying the same stuff over and over, yet they still do a good job, because for the people in the audience it is probably the one time they will hear it. It's nice that every time can be wonderful and memorable. I know it's their job, but I still appreciate the special efforts to make each 'show' special.

i can see glenn and his family as the sweater family.
:rotfl:

ohh i wonder who your favorites story tell was, the only one that we saw was norway so ill say that one
:thumbsup2

Just remember it was probably 65-70 degrees warm. They must have been roasting in those sweaters.
That was probably another reason they caught my attention.

Sergio... meh...

I tried to catch garlands at least in each county since they are all themed to the country a bit.
As for Sergio- you have to "understand the mime" :rotfl2: I love watching the audience reactions to the show more than Sergio blowing the @%$%#$ whistle all the time. But I guess I can tune that out since I hear whistles all day long.

:rotfl:

This coming from the guy who wore a shirt matching his wife's outfit to a luau? :sad2:

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: I think green stripes would look good on you Glenn.
I have no problems with hats, or matching sweaters, shirts or socks for that matter. That day I was in shorts and short sleeves and those matching sweaters had to be hot. Those poor kids looked not so happy.
Any other weather appropriate matching shirts :thumbsup2

Going to a Luau.. matching outfits just make me go AWWWW not ask my dh if he would match with me and he would probably say no.

Good Guess!! ;)

I understand what you mean. We go to my SIL with some of her family and this year their son ( our nephew) brought his girlfriend. Well her parents came to visit so they came too. That was a little off, no drama, just really a room full of strangers. Now my MIL comes with drama as do my parents so that is always just tiring to deal with.

It was a fun show. I am sure the next parade/show/bash/what have you, will be worthy.

It has a lot to do with the German accent and well, the full figure.

She doesn't own dress like that or play with nutcrackers... that I know of.:rotfl2:

That is another thing I absolutely love about Disney. All the performers give their all and I do believe they love their jobs. It shows. I mean if you go into guest services and a parade comes by, a parade they probably hear every day, and they still sing along... that is magic. :lovestruc

All the storytellers and even their handlers were so nice. It was the last day so I am sure there was a bittersweet feeling to it all. I am also sure the first day was as good as the last.

Trying to get all caught up and saw your update about the storytellers. You must have been on the same schedule we were since we caught Helga and then saw Sergio before the next La Befana presentation. I guess I can skip that whole part of my TR now.......:rolleyes1

you have to start the report before you can skip stuff.

Well then you know where I go next. That's OKay by the time you get to that part I will already be on my next trip. :rotfl2: It will all seem new again.

Bit of news today

Verizon is getting the iphone !!:banana::banana:

Now I need to decide if I want that iphone or go with the droid because the price will probably go down on that due to the new kid in town.

Second
I open my email and
I HAVE A PIN CODE that will be good for end of SEPT/OCT :banana::banana:

We enjoyed La Befana and continue to make our way back toward Future World.

As we pass Norway the storytellers Sigrid and Julenissen were in progress.
It was a popular show and we were not able to catch the beginning.
We stopped and watched from a not so good location and only caught the end of this performance. It was a bit confusing because we did not catch the beginning but we were liking what we were watching. Good thing another performance was starting later. We would came back.

We decided to wait for the next show but we can catch the China storyteller while we wait.
We get to China

The Monkey King
EPCOTChinaScroll123009.jpg

He came out and made the long walk from the China pavillion to the stage. He was stopped along the way for photos. He was gracious and posed with a few people. He was yet another storyteller that was very dramatic and held our attention. A great story, however no interaction with the audience.

We then ventured back to catch the whole Norway Christmas storyteller.

EPCOTNorwaySigridJulenissen2ndtie31233009.jpg

I am glad we went back. The performance was cute. Julenissen is a mischief maker and he is messing with Sigrid the whole time. Sigrid brings some kids up and when Julenissen makes his mischief, the kids are giggling and having so much fun. It was great to see. It remains one of my favorite stories.

We then head over to Mexico and listen to Los Tres Reyes.

They guy on the far left had a bit of a creeper look doesn't he?

They were very nice and the Mexico handler was saying his wife was at another county. B got into a longer conversation with the handler. His wife may have been at Germany I think. A great conversation starter is the name tag, the perfect reason to have the hometown on there.

As you can see it was starting to get dark. That can onlymean we are heading here.....

Hurray for your Verizon and pin code news! Chelsea really wants an iPhone -- one of the cell phones is due for an upgrade in February, and she has been nag, nag, nagging me lately. I personally think if anyone gets an iPhone it should be me. LOL!

I love reading about all the storytellers in Epcot! Cute picture with the three kings!

:banana: I just booked 9/27- 10/3 but at All Star Sports :headache: Not my first choice. But you know I will keep trying to switch over to POP. The only advantage is if I do the 5K transportation is from those resorts but I would rather be at POP.

35% pin code - Disney speaks my language. $$$$

My phone is due for an upgrade in Feb too. My DS just had his phone speaker die so I was able to move his service to the phone I used for mobile Magic ( another free phone from my DH line ) and he actually was upset a bit because it was a little different and he has to basically set it up again. I can't blame him I always get off kilter when I get a new phone and have to get used to it. :rolleyes1

Yes you should be the one to get an iphone. I am expecting some better deals on the android phones and I am leaning that way.

I love reading about all the storytellers in Epcot! Cute picture with the three kings!

They are usually there until the Dec 30th. Perfect for a NYE trip. :rolleyes1
