Yes, I was the one that called that sazerac cocktail the most vile thing I have ever tasted. I can't believe you actually drank all of it! It was like a great big cup of icky cough syrup!

When it cost that much I could not just throw it away!!!

I did figure out a little trick for the next time I encountered a drink that was too strong.

Looked like you had a nice afternoon and evening at the World. Except for the Epcot crowds maybe. Too bad you couldn't hit more food stands.

I did get my "last licks" in. I knew it would be more crowded on the weekend but not "lines a mile long and hard to move around" crowded. As empty as it was earlier in the week I was hoping to get in eat and get out.

Redneck ride pictures are not easy! I usually have to take a couple of them before I figure out/remember what camera settings I use for them. I think I set it to Shutter-priority and have it keep the shutter open for 1/60 of a second.

The Tot monitor is so high I have trouble holding the camera without shaking too much. The camera I had, I had to zoom all the way in and that just degraded the image more. Hopefully for my next trip, whenever that is, I have rectified that problem.

I may have to check out that receipe! I had the bread pudding at Ohana and O.M.G.!!!!!!! That was some wickedly good stuff!

I made the Praline Bread Pudding from Food and Wine 2009. Allears has the Ohana recipe too. The base is similar so the only difference is the Banana Foster sauce vs the Bourbon drizzle.

I loved both so now which one to make????

Sun October 25
It is my last day of this wonderful trip. My first trip solo. I can say my first trip with an annual pass. I got to experience so many things.
I sleep in

Apparently the Sassa Razz is still in effect.
I finish the pack up and leave my room for the last time.

When would I be able to return? I really like these refurbed rooms.
I honestly cannot tell you if I used resort check in. I must have and since my flight was not until 1pm I did drop off my luggage at 9:30. It seems like I would have had to drop off the luggage earlier.
I was here at 9:45.

We get to the Airport without incident.

I see an interesting thing. It appears to be 2 people leading another around. The third person is blindfolded. In any hotel I would not really think twice about this but in a busy airport? here they are on the escalator

I make it to my gate

I still have an hour and a half to wait.

No I am not going to Milwaukee.

Almost home

I got to meet MeMom, Jill, Brooklyn and Bella.

I also have another trip to look forward to. I have to friends that I have known for years. Both are also in Aquatics. We were looking at Spring time for that trip.

My friend A is a Special Ed Physical Ed teacher and my friend B is a lecturer at the local university.
We sit down to talk dates. Problem is the 2 girls are not on the same school schedule except for an overlap for the summer and winter breaks.
We meet at a Panera Bread with my laptop and we discussed options. Where, when and how long.

Somehow we settle on NYE. December 30- January 3 It was November when we decide this. We had less than 2 months until we went. I was freaking out a little bit since I always had months to plan. We would not be making ARD’s to save some money and the idea seemed to stress my friends out.

It was prime time so no real discounts. I managed to get a discount for Jan 2nd and 3rd. I book Dec 30th - Jan 3rd at the Coronado. They would be sharing the bed so I figured a Queen would be more comfortable. I think we decided on Dec 30th first and then added the 29th. We did that when I found out the storytellers last day was Dec 30th. When I called back I had to book that night at All star Music.

I clear it at home and my family had no problem with a girl’s trip. We would leave pretty early on the 29th and get in that evening.

This was a big first for me. I was travelling with 2 friends and my very first time during the holiday decorations. In case you are wondering my family had no desire to go. Really, they had no idea what they would be missing except crowds.

I would be travelling with little time to prepare( I was prepared none the less) during a crazy crowded time to hopefully show 2 of my best friends why I love Disney.

Would I be successful? Would this put a strain on our friendship? Would it be a disaster?

That's a nice list of firsts.
We'll be doing the Quick Service Dining Plan for the first time in February. When I get the trip paid off on January 12th (crossing my fingers that I do, that is), it will feel very different not to be preparing my food budget. I'll still throw in my box of Pop-tarts and some fruit cups for quick breakfasts.


I forgot all about the Praline Bread Pudding! That was incredible. That's the one I will make whenever I make it.

I think to get the full " side effect " you need to see how this really happened. So, if no one minds, I will continue to roll along with the next trip.

I need to find my hidden Mickey book to be sure it is official. It is not the standard shape but I called it a hidden Mickey since the tile was a different color than the surrounding tiles.

I found my hidden mickey book ( it was hidden in my "Disney drawer"). It is officially not in there but the book does not specifically address the single rider line so it may have been published before they added that section?

It really sucked me in during that visit. I can look at pictures now and instantly relax. I may need to just stare at pictures today. It has not been the easiest day.

Blizzard Beach is fun! I got that camera when our other one went missing. Short version ( I promise) My husband thought TSA may have lifted during one of his trips but alas, after I replaced it witht he waterproof one, it came tumbling out of a travel bag.

This was Dec 2009. I stopped up at the Poly briefly to say hi but I did not want to ditch my friends. From MEmoms pictures on that trip you can see my sweatshirt hanging ( sort of ) on a lounge chair up near the water.

YAY for Free dining. YAY for first time too! Even with 2 CS and 2 snacks it is plenty of food! I have a list of snack credit "worthy" snacks and CS places I use when on the dining plan. I will share if you need it.

Praline Bread pudding is the bomb!!! I may make it after Christmas. I have not decided yet.

You only missed 2 because I was rushing them a bit to get to holiday photos before the holidays. I only made it 3 days early but hey I made it.

I did knock off a bunch on that trip. Even though I only I had a short list of things that i still needed to do I think I found some I did not know about.

The Girls only New Years Eve blowout

We are all set to head out Dec 29th. Weather forecast is all over the place, some warm days, some rain and some cold. Good thing we are driving so we can throw extra warm items in and not have to worry about airline weight limits.

We are taking my car so I head out early to pick them up. We get all situated and we are doing great until we hit 95 in SC. We hit traffic and seem to be stop and go until we hit the state line. No accidents, no construction to speak of, just slow. I was so happy to see this sign.

Being around College Bowl game time, we hit traffic in Orlando due to the game. We finally pull into All star Music which would keep us for the night. I was giddy by this point. I was seeing all the wonderful decorations “live” for the first time. As I approached All star Music I squealed. A and B looked at me and laughed. My disclaimer is that some of these pictures are A’s pictures. I will try to identify them as we go but really, if they are a good picture it is probably hers.

We got all checked in, got 2 first time buttons for the girls. We drove around to the Jazz section and unloaded what we needed for the night. We would be moving the next day so we just packed a bag with what we would need for the first night. We find this in our room.

Food court is bustling . We encounter a mother and son and strike up a conversation with the son. It was their last night. It was great start to see the excitement in this child. It helped kick of f the trip right.
We are heading here

It was evening EMH. Illuminations was at 9:30pm and we were walking in at 9pm.

This was the beginning of the pixie dust. Things kind of fell into place on this trip. So lucky that we got there despite some really horrible traffic, ate and got to EPCOT with minutes to spare for the show.

I quickly try to find a spot and we settle on a spot between Mexico and Norway. I have told them little about Illuminations other than it was a show with fireworks. HEHEHEH
The show starts ( A’s picture)

I look back ( they are both taller than me so I stand in front of them most times) and they are both standing there with their mouths wide open. I admit I get misty. We watch and enjoy the special Holiday tag at the end. They are both awed and amazed. I think this is when the question” Does this happen every night?” is asked. I try to get the words out without being a dork and getting choked up. "Yes, this show runs every night." I reply. The magic is realized.

After the finale, I tell them to wait where they are and after some of the crowd clears we will head to Norway, in the opposite direction of the crowd. We visit the Vikings and the trolls of Norway. When we exit the crowds have subsided. My friends think I am amazing.

I know you will find this hard to believe but I have only 1 more picture of what we did that night (besides Photopass) and it is not even my picture.
From memory I know we hit Malestrom and Mexico. We headed back to Future World. I know I checked Mobile Magic and I was able to find out that Crush had the last show at 11:40pm. This is how I remember that my Mobile magic App worked during EMH. For this trip the App was a lifesaver. I had no problems whatsoever with it.

In any case, we head to Nemo about 11:30pm and A takes this

I bring them into Crush again with little background. The show is great and funny as usual. The girls think I am awesome again because we don’t wait long due to the dumb luck of great timing.
We are beginning to head out and pass the character connection. B asks ” What’s that?” I tell them it is to meet characters. Due to the late hour, the line is not too long. B and A decide that we want to meet characters. Great !! We hop in line.
