The Side effects of the AP-Trip#6 Oct 10 Final thoughts and some TMI

That was a neat article but only 9-10 rides a day? Obviously those people don't DIS.

ASMusic looks like a lot of fun! :thumbsup2

I really enjoyed your goofy pics with the characters! I always enjoy seeing other adults having fun with the characters, makes me feel less shy with them as well! :goodvibes
We did have fun. Over the last year I really got less and less shy while in Disney. I guess that is a good thing. I never really got a funny look or anything while doing it either. Even when I was alone, if I told the CM party of 1, I would get " awesome" which I guess what they are trained to say if they can't think of anything to say. I got that more than once.

One thing I meant to ask about your Blizzard Beach update: I realized that you did not go on Teamboat Springs (or what it is called, the family raft ride). The one time I was at BB I did not go on it either, because I was on my own and thought I would need to be a group. Is that true, or would they put you in a raft with other riders? I am not so sure wether I want to sit in a raft with strangers while wearing a bathing suit, but I would love to know wether this is even an option. You appear to be the most knowledgeable person to ask this! :goodvibes

I did avoid Teamboat Spring because I was alone. Even though, for most of life being in a bathing suit was my uniform of sorts, yes I thought it would be awkward for me to be in a boat with another family I did not know. I would be worried they would be more freaked out by me being intheir raft rather than the other way around.

That being said, I think I did eventually venture down Teamboat springs. However I am not sure if it was during a time where I was alone or not. I may have grabbed ( not literally ) a fellow conventioneer and we headed up there. But I think we got put in a boat with 2 others? I have no pictures so I have no proof. I do remember trying to go on with another person and we got 2 more, I just can't remember when that was. I have been to Blizzard 3 times I think, 2 times for the convention, 1 alone and 1 with my son and the third with family but only my son and maybe husband went to the park that day.

I am not sure if they can send you down alone. With the large raft, you need at least 2 to balance the weight and maybe a minimum of 3 to properly balance it.

My best answer would be:I think they would try for a minimum of 3 or 4 and would combine when needed. I am sure if you got to the front of the line by yourself, they would just pop you in the raft with another family.

That was an interesting article. Thanks for sharing.

We have enjoyed our two stays at All-Star Music. It's especially nice for a holiday trip when the lobby has the tree and decorations.

Hmmmm. I never did get a picture of the tree.:sad2: When we checked in, I said I would get it later and of course when we left, we took the car and never did go back through the lobby. We wanted a picture by Ariel ( girl) too but forget in the morning. I would go back if Pop was not available.

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: I thought the same thing. I also thought, the number of rides only went up by 1???? I don't think in the statistics world that is "significant". :confused3

Let them stand in line. We know better. :ssst:

Thanks for the info on Teamboat Springs! I guess I just need to try and ask the CMs about it. I really would love to try it! I really hope that my next trip to WDW will have warmer weather (it should, late October, early November tends to be quite warm still) so I can really enjoy the water parks. And in October I should be able to still catch the one which will close for refurbishment in November, so I get to go to both in one trip. At the moment I am even thinking about several trips there (I am seriously considering a Premium Annual Pass! :cloud9:).

Pat, I think it's neat how your friends laughed at your giddyness upon arriving at Disney, but are slowly being won over by Illuminations, your crowd-avoidance expertise, the Crush show, and meeting characters. It's great to read about the transformation!

It looked like you were giving Goofy a dental exam in that one picture. :rotfl2:

I figured if you could post yours, I would post mine. :rotfl2::rotfl2:

2012 maybe??:flower3:
We did have fun on the beach and those fireworks were amazing.

 Chances are we'll have a couple more "winners" coming up too!

I would LOVE to go back for NYE during 2012. Looooove it. And my Mom might be living there by then as well. :hyper:

Very interesting article! 9 or 10 rides??? Wow, for a gate price of around $90 that $10 a ride. :scared1: Glad I'm a DISer. ;)

I have had hot weather in Oct and cold weather so hopefully you will be able to frequent the water parks.

If i do go I would probably be there end of Sept to Oct 2 or 3rd. If we overlapped I would be your Teamboat springs buddy. :thumbsup2 :goodvibes

I would point out things I had never done before and before long they declared that they liked when we all did things I have never done before. Since seeing all of the Christmas decorations in person were new to me, I had quite a few of those moments. We also had incredible luck many times. I made sure to point that out in case they come back and get a run of bad luck to even things out.

AS for Goofy, I think after not sleeping well the night before( too excited) and driving all day, I was a little punchy.

MeMom and crew may go 2011. Hmmmmm wheels turning. I believe I can get a late Sept /early Oct trip and may even do a 5K. Have not even gotten beyond thinking about NYE.

That article made our local paper today. I agree 9 or 10 out of 40? Now the geek that I am I counted. I came up with 30. I pulled out a map-under attractions I come up with 37. Throw in Wishes, MSEParade, Move it Shake it and Dream come true parade we have 41.

Count rides i.e. thing that actually move and I have 20. I am thinking when they polled people how many "rides" they answered counting within that 20.

At least I hope. If not, then I understand why people think all they do is stand in line. They do ... while we ride, ride, ride. :goodvibes :cool1:

Bit of news

At work, our pool maintenance operator took his family to Disney over Christmas. Of course I had to put my 2 cents in and sit him down and make sure he got the most out of his trip. :rotfl2:

I tried to helpful without dictating and planning their trip. :lmao::lmao:

He was going to wait until they got there to get park hours. :scared1: I printed them out for him. :)

They came back and I bumped into him and his daughter yesterday.

They did have a good time. He deemed it value for his money.
Unfortunately, he was staying Port Orleans and was practically a witness to the bus accident that killed a man.

His daughter had so many favorite things, she got to meet Cinderella with a private session her first day! The only thing she did not like was Space Mountain. I guess I did not think to tell him about the seating being a row instead of side by side. Also Crush is still doing the bikini top bit. They remembered that part from Crush.

I am glad there is another satified customer. :cheer2:

I last left you as we were driving down Buena Vista Drive to CSR.

Check in was easy and quick. Our room was not ready. :sad2: But we were given a room #.
If you remember trip #1, I was first placed in Casitas #5 and then requested a change due to the conference and wanting to be a bit closer to the convention center.
Well, guess what? We were given a room in

I wonder if karma would give me the same room I rejected just months ago. At least I knew the parking lot was right behind the building. We left my car and hopped on the bus.

Epcot was our destination to see the storytellers.
We arrived about 11 am but still had to eat breakfast. I steer them to Sunshine Seasons and we chow down on a great breakfast.
A took this one

After breakfast we start in Canada and work our way around.

After watching the show, we realized we could zip over to France and catch Pere Noel.

We enjoyed hearing how Christmas is celebrated in France. We continued to look around France and even took in the movie. This was a first for me. The movie was enjoyed by all even though I thought we could sit and it just had the lean bars. If I am not mistaken it is only Canada you can sit?

1 storyteller down, many more to go. Next up - A Spunky Santa.

I totally understand how great it is to do things together for the first time! And those films at the WS would be new for me as well! I really hope to see them on my next trip! :thumbsup2

I had some odds and ends in each park that I never experienced.
The movie in France the UK showcase players were a first.

Once they made me admit to things I had not done yet, the hunt was on to make sure those things got done. I  my friends for that.

I was lucky enough (or tenacious enough) to take in all 4 on my last trip. Each is above and beyond wonderful, and you can sit in the US and France- not Canada or China- oh yeah you CAN sit in Norway for their advertising spiel, but I'd not recommend it. :goodvibes:lmao:

Great close up shots on things!1 :thumbsup2

I knew you could sit in a couple and you had to stand in a couple. I just could not remember which was which.

I actually caught the Norway one recently. It was short and not great but i am glad I had the time to spend.

With my new camera I am hoping to get better close ups.:thumbsup2
