The Side effects of the AP-Trip#6 Oct 10 Final thoughts and some TMI

Love all the details you captured around Echo Lake! I always enjoy seeing all the little nods to movies along the way!

I can't believe how crowded Africa was!

I have never seen Beauty and the Beast ever. Since I have boys, they never want to go see it. We are going during Star Wars Weekend in June so when they are doing their thing, I am planning on going to see it. That and Voyage of the Little Mermaid. Never seen that either.

I believe Allears had a blog and there are more that I missed around the lake. Oh well, next trip right? I got that email pin code and I am feeling that pull again. :rolleyes1

I tell you walking over the bridge and seeing the crowd.... is enough to make you turn around and run.

VoLM is a good show too. The special effects and air conditioning make it a hot weather good choice. I like the way Disney tries to present the "stage" shows in different manners. BB show is probably the most traditional stage show. It is enjoyable, not a must do every time for me but great entertainment.

Here is where I must show that I learn from others and I am trainable.;)

Entering Africa I saw this

I had a decision to make. Do I "hop" back out and go somewhere else? Do I move forward and hope for the best?

Taking a look around Harambe I notice

I am welcomed into Harambe so I continue forward.

I spot this in the shop
I think of my iguana loving DD.

Judging by pictures all FP must be gone for the day and the line is a bit long. I know if I wait a bit it will go down by the end of the day.

I head over here to see if the gorillas are active.

I exit the trail around 4pm. Check the safari line and it is around 20 minutes.
I get in line and load into the jeep.

We take off and immediately there is a loud guy behind me. I was sitting right behind the driver and could not hear a thing. It is not like I do not know the story but this guy was loud.
So what does a good diser do?

The offender.

Now where do I head?

Don't head anywhere! I'm enjoying seeing the animals. :cool1:

Those little bead animals are cute, and I look at them all the time, but I have not bought one yet. Have you ever gotten one?

I did not want to leave but it was nearing 5pm so everyone was being herded out.

I have never bought the bead animals, I also look at them whenever I pass through.

I am finally caught up on your TR and must say that I really love it how you have a photographic diary of your trip! :goodvibes

Thanks. This was the first trip I really took pictures as a diary of sorts. I have graduated to pictures and notes to help relive and share the memories.

It is really cold here this weekend so looking at how hot I was is helping a little.

I bought the "bead" tiger last summer since our school is the Tanglewood Tigers. I think the animals in Mexico are so cool too but they are very expensive! Don't think I'll be bringing one of those home...

I do admit I stop and look at all the animals in Mexico every time but one look at the price and I snap a picture of what I like and move on. :rotfl:

I love AK dearly but if I'd seen that horde of people I would have run screaming out of the park!

Love "the offender" picture!

Ah, I love seeing giraffes first thing in the morning!

Too funny that you took a picture of the loud man!

I had to laugh when I saw the gorilla hauling his blanket around!

Nice pictures. So many things I need to cross off my todo list also! We saw BatB last trip for the first time. Love checking out the animals every time we are at AK. The best part - it is different every time! :woohoo: Too funny getting the "loud guys" picture like that. I wonder if he was thinking "I hope she didn't take that picture to diss me on the DIS!!! :rotfl2:

nice park hope, glad you stayed and road the safari, it is always a good trip, even if you want to through the people behind you to the alligators.

:thumbsup2

I know I stopped at least for a second. Long enough to say "Oh" and then " I need a picture for a TR".:rotfl2:

I am at the point now where if I can't get down the trails and it is hot out I am Okay with it since I know the gorillas and tigers are not doing much if it is really hot. I still have a sense of excitement every time I ride the safari because I never know what I might see.

Love "the offender" picture!

Taking the picture in the mirror was a better option than turning around and snapping one of his face. :rotfl2: I know he did not speak English and I cannot remember if he was just loud or heckling the driver but I know he annoyed the driver too. I kept firing off pictures in the mirror until I got a good one. :thumbsup2 i was kind of hoping that creeky bridge would give way. ;)

I had to laugh when I saw the gorilla hauling his blanket around!

This is from a trip in '07 and my all time favorite gorilla picture.

I too am one of those ones who picks up the animals in Mexico and gets a serious case of sticker shock. Ugh!! Why do they have to be so danged exensive?? Seriously, some of them are move expensive than an 8 day PH ticket!

Me, too. I have thought about buying them as 'different' kinds of souvenirs before, but even the smallest ones are pretty pricey. One day, I will cave and come home with the tiniest little turtle or lizard or snail or something, I'm sure.

Maybe I could afford an ant?

What is funny is that I was looking for a picture to post here but I can't find any.:scared1: I really thought I had some. Maybe they never came out and I felt kind of funny taking the picture when they are right there working on the critters.
I need to add that to the "next time " list. Pictures since I don't think they will get any cheaper.
