Poll coming.... curious what a wide area of people think. I think he should retire, but that is just one DIS Fantasy Football Champion's opinion..... :lmao: I crack myself up!

He should do whatever he wants to do. He's certainly earned the right to retire on his own terms based on what he's done in his career. If he feels he has one more season in him, and there's a team that wants him, he should play. :)

I went with unsure. I respect him for what he has done, but not sure how much more he has to give.

Now, if they could just quit making Ricky Williams a headline story down here, I'd be happy.

There is really no reason for him to come back. I do wish this decision had been made months ago though.

I watched our 10 o'clock news last nite and they broke 3 times into the news cast to report ESPN.com is quoted as saying Brett will be back to play with the packers 2006/2007.

Yes the guy wants to play and has every right to play-but he doesn't have a winning team to play with and that will be painful to watch. Brett says he doesn't like the spot light on him, but I think the whole season will be about him. Last season was very painful to watch, I don't know what Brett is thinking that things will change. Brett said he will never play for another team, but didn't Steve Young from the 49's switch to Denver Bronco's in 96/97 and win the super bowl against the Packers.

Maybe Brett will only play part of the game, but I don't see that happening either-it's all or nothing for him.

NNNOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! Packers aren't my fav. team. But who doesn't love Brett? I hope he has an awesome season, and Pack win all their games. Except when the play my :cheer2: Skins. :cheer2:

Steve Young never switched teams once he went to the 49'ers. He retired as 49'er. Maybe you're thinking of Joe Montana and his final year with the KC Chiefs (where he didn't win a Super Bowl)?

It was John Elway-I even did a search because I wasn't sure. I just remember the Denver Bronco'sand the world focusing on the quarterback because he was older and won a Superbowl. My mistake, sorry.

There’s not a bigger attention junkie on the planet!

During the packers’ last game last year I told DW that there is no way favre will retire without the pleasure of a “retirement tour”.

As a Chicago Bears fan, we say "Get him out!!!!" :teeth:

So true. When he decides to retire, he will make sure we all know about it a year ahead of time. Theres no way the guy goes out during the off-season. Gotta love the fact that he (or his family) tells everyone he's having a press conference to announce his decision....only to announce he hasnt made up his mind!
:rotfl2:

He really shouldve hung em up about 3 years ago.

Now....having said that....Go Pats!

Actually, that press conference was never to say if a decision was made or not. He holds a press conference every year during his golf tournament. Someone in the media just decided that he was going to announce it at that time.

Yikes! Havne't people been saying he was going to to retire every year lately. I actually thought he already was retired!

He should do what he wants to do.

I believe i heard that last season was his worst ever - I don't think you should go out like that...I hope he has a much improved season and can go out with a bang - And this is coming from a Bears fan! :thumbsup2

He should have retired prior to last season.

Last year was his worst season....until this year. Dude has no o-line help, the rb's are old and hurt, still have no wr's as Javon wants out.

He threw so many unneccesary INT'S last year it was pitiful. He is supposed to be the leader of the team, yet instead of taking a sack or throwing out of bounds he heaved it up into traffic for a pick.

GO BRONCOS!

Heck no he won't go!!!!

I've been thinking about this... Packer fans are the ones who should MOST want him to leave. Really, he has held your team hostage for the last 3 - 4 months. They had to at least consider what they would do if he didn't come back.

Didn't Brett say he wanted to see what the Packers did to build a winner before deciding he would want to come back? So, what exactly DID the Packers DO to build a winner this off season. I don't know that Packers intimately, but really they didn't do ANYTHING.... no free agents signings of note, and they can't even get Javon Walker - their own player - to say he will play for them.

So, after all this "drama", the end result really is that Favre held the Packers hostage for NOTHING. Since the Packers essentially did NOTHING, shouldn't he have retired? :confused3

Yep, If I was a Packers fan, I would drive him to the airport.

well, this packer fan is glad to have him back. he has lead the pack to the finest 15 years the free agent era has ever seen and he deserves another shot at going out a winner. we are going to have to rebuild someday, but one more year of brett will be awesome.

One of Bretts relatives told the media that Brett would have a big announcement tomorrow...thats why the media showed up. So either Brett had him do this for the attention, or the guy did it on his own and really made Brett look foolish.
