The shortest trip report ever!

I finally decided to sit down and plan an actual trip to Disney. Usually we go just for the day, occasionally we'll crash in my parents RV, but this time, the trip was mine.

And then I lost my job. And you know, two nights at a value honestly seemed like a waste of money. So, I changed our ressie to just one night and was kind of bummed about it.

And then the smoke came. I have pretty nasty asthma, and them week before our trip I was barely able to leave my house to run out to the grocery store, let alone spend a day outside. So I cancelled our second night in the hotel, and decided to just go for the day. I figured, worst case scenario, if we had to leave due to the smoke, we just wasted the gas.

So here we are ... with the shortest trip report ever.

The cast of characters is myself ... a 23 year old mom to the best baby girl, who's two. And my wonderful castmate, Juliette, who is amazing, and a Disney girl to the core.

I decided on Saturday, the 19th for one main reason, Characters in Bloom. I'd seen pictures, of the "unique" characters that are out that day in Epcot. Let me tell you, we hunted ostrich and hippo and never found them. But, I did not leave feeling bad. As you'll read, we had the best trip ever.

Oh, and if I ever get my computer up and running, I'll have some awesome pictures to add as well!

Saturday May 19th 8am

My goal was to wake up at 6am, to be able to pack everything we needed, make breakfast and get out the door no later than 8:30. For some reason, Princess Juliette as she calls herself, actually slept through the night. LOL. So, since I wasn't planning on needing the alarm clock, I didn't set it ... and I didn't wake up until 8. Ooops.

I should also mention, that we just moved into a house. All of our stuff is in boxes in the garage. Luckily, I'd unpacked the sunscreen and Julie's hat, the stroller had been at my parents, and the camera never leaves my sight. I found the diaper bag we usually bring, and had borrowed the lunch cooler for my mom. The night before I had thrown in some water bottles and juice boxes into the fridge, so that was taken care of. I don't know about you, but my girl can drink if she's got a mind too ... and usually at Disney we go through a lot of water. I packed a few snacks, and a change of clothes ... and was ready to attempt to wake up a sleeping princess.

First rule of going to Disney, especially with a toddler ... go into their room bearing gifts and smiles. Julie's gift, her princess shoes *are you noticing a running theme here?!?!* "Julie, wake up. We're going to go to Disney" "No, me go back to bed." Seriously, is she two or sixteen? I finally managed to strong arm her into her clothes, grabbed our waffles and a cup of milk and we were able to leave. Once she was in the car eating her wabble, things were better.

Our new house is right off the interstate, so it saved us about 10 minutes of driving time .. which isn't too bad. We left the house at about 9:20, which was almost an hour after I'd planned. For some reason, there were a lot of cars out though for 9am ... and I typically don't speed with Julie even the car. Even if we're going to Disney.

We pulled into Epcot at 10:10 ... not too shabby of a time for us. After parking really close, and unloading everything (are we the only ones who are last to leave our cars?!?!) we were on our way.

Is it just me, or does Epcot need to do something about the bag check? It seemed disorganized and really crowded, or that could have been the man who hit me trying to run past me. Sigh. I tried not to loose focus ... I just wanted in.

After getting in, we headed over to guest relations because I lost my annual pass. The lady in front of me had already lost her magic. There were three people at the windows, two in front of her waiting, the guy after her and me. I think we waited about 15 minutes. I'm sorry, I can't get mad at having to wait in line when I lost my pass, but apprently this lady did. She was seriously crushing the magic, but luckily Juliette was reminding me why we were there "Mama, I wanna push the stroller now" "Julie, we're in line, no one's pushing the stroller."

Finally got the pass and headed towards the gate. I should mention that Juliette was pushing the stroller. She does a good job, and I really don't know why we bring the thing, other than to lug our stuff around, to let her nap in it, and to loose it when we park it somewhere. I might try a day during our next trip without it ... who knows.

Next stop: The pirate ship

Hook's ship 10:30am

I think I've been to Epcot with school at least once during the Flower and Garden Festival, but this is the first time I really enjoyed it ... or appreciated it, whichever way you look at it.

As soon as you walk in, there is this HUGE topiary or Hook's ship, with Peter and Hook, and Tink way at the top. There is also a lovely Croccodile at the back, along with a Pirate Stitch.

Remember, Julie's pushing the stroller when she stops and yells "Princess Rella's CASTLE!!!" Sorry honey, wrong park I talk her into actually sitting in the stroller by bribing her with a map and asking her where we're going. She says "To see the PIRATES!" Now she's looking in awe at the ship, so we walk around it, and talk about pirates. After meeting Jack Sparrow at the PPParty, she's now obsessed with pirates. I'm nice and don't bring up the fact that she screamed the entire time we were in the room with him. He was taking his picture with me and leaned over and asked "Now why dear did you bring that brat in here?" LOL, I died laughing, she just really didn't like him.

We walked towards Spaceship Earth, but the line was really long, so we started walking towards the land. I should insert here that I'm bad about lines, and for some rides, just won't stand in them.

I'm going to have to stop short, the princess just woke up .... and I can't type while cradling a sleeping toddler. I'm just not that good!
