The Shmoopy DINKs’ 4th Annual Xmas Trip – Segways, V&As, and Castle B-fast!

I don't know what I was thinking...:lmao: I read your trip report of your '07 trip. My DH and I also got tickets to MVMCP on Dec 9th. This will be my third trip in 18 months and his first. (I'm hoping to bring him to the darkside.):rolleyes1
I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one that plans "down to the minute" and uses spreadsheets:rotfl:

I can't wait!!! :woohoo: When I did the demo in Innoventions last year, the CM actually asked me if I had done this before, because it came so naturally. I loved it. I wish we could get one for every day use, but one, they are WAY too expensive and two, we would probably stand out just a bit. I'm sure we'll enjoy it. Are there times to take pictures? Do they let you put personal items somewhere before we leave, since when we go, the park won't even be open yet and I don't know if they will have access to lockers yet?

Njdisneyfreak, the Segways have a small storage compartment on them so you can stow your stuff there. If you have more items than can be stowed, they might be able to help you at Guest Relations, but it wouldn't hurt to call ahead and check! And they stop a few times for pictures -- the one that Bill posted above was taken at the longest designated picture stop in Italy. The CMs were very happy to take pix for everyone, and you get Spaceship Earth right there in the background. I think you'll love the tour! :thumbsup2

What about taking goofy pictures with Goofy???

Love it! So, the retirement is on schedule, and now we're waiting to make sure one more person has the vaca time, then I finally get to start planning!! I love living vicariously through your PTR!

So, what is your Pop Warner strategy??? I've heard baaad things.

Yay, TotalSnowWhite! Let the planning begin! Our Pop Warner strategy is the same as our Brazilian Tour Group strategy -- avoid when possible; otherwise ignore. Most of the kids are well-behaved; it's just the ones who aren't that stand out the most. :sad2:

Welcome, addictedtothemouse! I wish you the best of luck in converting your DH. Bill was a total Disney skeptic when I first mentioned it -- he was not interested at all! And once we got there, it took a few hours for him to stop grousing about crowds and buses and everything, but by the end of our first day, I could see that I had a convert on my hands. Extra planning always makes things go smoother, so I'm sure your down-to-the-minute scheduling will pay off. And since you're going in December, like us, maybe we'll even run into you in the parks! :santa:

We just moved into a new apartment today, so I don't know if I'll be able to finish the post I had planned, but I'm working on it. Thanks so much for reading along!

Now, I'm even more excited about going. I was thinking of the bag I'll be carrying and I may bring my Mickey Santa hat to put on afterwards, so I'm glad to know they have bags. I noticed them in pictures, but I wasn't sure if they had something in them already for the tour. That's great that we will get the chance to take those wonderful pics. What about video recording? Should we even attempt to video record as we ride the Segways or just keep both hands on the handle? Five months can't pass by fast enough.

(Obviously, we’ll plan something else to go here – maybe La Nouba? Maybe DisneyQuest, minus all the virtual reality games that made me nauseated when we visited back in 2005? Maybe an early night? Maybe standing right outside the closed Adventurers Club yelling “Kungaloosh, you *******s!” at the top of our lungs?)

Oh my goodness, this had me cracking up! :rotfl: I've never had the chance to experience the Adventurer's Club, but it was on the top of our list for the next trip and I'm feeling totally slighted. Maybe the DIS petition will make the head honchos at Disney reconsider...

La Nouba is incredible - I highly recommend it! :thumbsup2

Kungaloosh!

I am subscribing, you are a very good writer, which could explain why you have 2 books.....:lmao: , We will be there the same time as you. Dec 6-16th. But we will be at the All Star Movies, if we had no children we could probably do a deluxe, but my DD spends too much $$ in the gift shops, so we do value!!! We will also be at MVMCP on the 9th.

Where've ya been, missy? Well, we're 100%, flights booked, rooms reserved confirmed! Yea!! I think we'll be doing MVMCP on our last night (the 9th). So, officially (:yay:), we'll be at SoG Dec. 3-7 and YC Dec. 7-10!! :santa:  I'm a Christmas FREAK, and I couldn't be more excited!!

Love, love, love your guide!

OH NO! They shut down the Adventurers Club! Marching along, we’re not adventurers, because they shut down our club! Stinks! Sucks, even! Boo! Phooey! Grumble! Etc.

WHAT??!?!?!?!??!

How could they do that!? I thought they were keeping just the Adventurer's Club open and closing the rest!?
