Hi everyone
First time on the boards
We've booked the sheraton world resort 30th nov - 14th dec.
Anyone got any comments, or advice ?

We were VERY impressed with the Sheraton World. We've also stayed recently at the Sheraton Studio City and the Sheraton Safari. I think the World is best, followed closely by the Studio City. The Safari is OK and has a great location and pool.

The rooms at the World were very pretty and looked like they had new furniture and drapes. The pools were awesome.

I take it you stayed in the tower if there was new furniture.
How was the view ?
I'm thinking of upgrading to a tower room.
What were the hotel restaurants and bars in the hotel like ?

We did stay in the tower on a Starwood Preferred Guest floor. We had an awesome view of the SeaWorld fireworks and the park. We saw "Shamu Rocks" at the park, then dashed back to the hotel and made it to the room just as they were starting. It was great.

We were there only one night, so we didn't get to try out the restaurants.

Can you tell me a bit more about the starwood preffered guest floor ? Is it only some people who can go there ?

The Starwood Preferred Guest program is the program that lets you earn points toward free stays at Sheraton, Westin, St. Regis, and W hotels. It's great -- no blackout dates. I think you can register for it at www.spg.com. Many (but not all) of the Starwood hotels I've stayed in have special floors or rooms for Starwood members.

I'm going to enroll as it will be good for the next time we go.
I've been on to the link that you gave, but I can't figure out how you earn points. Can they only be earned by staying in their hotels ?

We earn Starwood points through a special American Express Optima Card. It's earned us several free nights at the Swan and Dolphin!!!
