Day 4- the sun returns and off to Epcot we go. Made another switch and made a PS the night before for lunch in Canada.

Breakfast- the usual from Bellview Lounge.

Lunch- Le Cellier, this was an unplanned restaurant for us but what a pleasant addition. Had a 1:00 PS, watched Off Kilter before heading in, waited 5 min. and seated at a nice table.
Very friendly and helpful waitress from Quebec.
DH and I shared the cheese soup, DD tried it and loved it too! Of course Pretzel bread was awesome!
DH- Prime Rib French Dip
self- same
DD- kid's steak meal, smores dessert
DS- kid's grilled chix. breast meal, chocolate mouse dessert
DH and I shared Canadian Club Cake
Overall a very good meal. The kids desserts was unbeliveable in their presentation, too cute to eat... almost. This was one of the kids most favorite meals. If you haven't been here... go!

Dinner- returned to MGM to try and see Fantasmic as it was rained out the night before. Got fruit bowls from Annehiem Produce (really good stuff there) and hot dogs inside Fantasmic.

Day 5- weather turned very cold (in the upper 50's, gray and windy). This was our most disappointing day of food, nothing lived up to our expectations.

Breakfast- Chef Mickey's IMHO this is overrated and we would not return. They tried to seat us way in the back in that raised area but I had read here not to sit there so we asked to be seated elsewhere and the hostess was not happy. We were offered a table right below that area by the kitchen or take the original. We took the lower table, it was not much better. We felt out of the loop and no atmosphere there (can't see the monorail). Character interacation was ok, napkin dance did not thrill us (no characters around during it) and the food was fair. Not a great experience, enough said!

Lunch- MK snacks

Dinner- Had made a last minute PS for 5:00 Tony's Town Square. The day was very cold and the restaurant was very crowded. Tried to seat us in front of kitchen doors when other table open, asked to be moved, we were. Food here was marginal, would not eat here again-ever!
DH and I split a salad with feta cheese, best thing we had here.
DH- spaghetti and meatball (said meatball was "nasty")
self- NY steak (recommended by server) it was tough, not good.
Kids both had pepperoni pizza , did not like the sauce on it.

Thanks for your reviews. I think we're in the minority on Chef Mickey's, but we haven't eaten here in many years and I don't see what all the hoopla is about either.

Boy, I miss the breakfast at Tony's Town Square - stopped serving several years ago - it was awesome, haven't tried other meals though.

I'm sorry that you didn't have a good experience at Chef Mickey's. We haved never had breakfast there but have always had fun at dinner there. We did once get seated in the raised section and you do feel a bit isolated up there but every time they did the napkin twirl one of the characters (usually Minnie) would come up there and ham it up with the kids (and my brother in law who she seemed to be quite enthralled with lol).
As for Le Cellier, we've eaten dinner there and loved it.
I have a very stupid question to ask but here goes anyway...Is the french dip sandwich sliced not necessarily paper thin but not thick? I ask this because I love french dips but I like to be able to actually bite into them. Recently I ordered one and it came out with this huge, thick hunk of meat (which was tough) in between 2 buns. I tried to bite into it but I would have had to act like a pit bull to get a bite so I ended up having to cut it up with a knife. I asked the waiter if that's how they normally were and he said yes and acted like I was nuts.

Epcotgal8,

It was not paper thin shaved meat and it certainly was not a thick slice (I have trouble with that too!) it seemed just right to me. It came with sauteed onions (I opted out of those but DH loved them) and canadian white cheddar which was very good but not overpowering. We both had it with the "warm potato salad" which was really roasted redskins.

:D

Thanks for the info Vicb! I don't need paper thin, but if I order a sandwich I'd like to be able to eat it as a sandwich and not look like a cavewoman!
