The Saga of our Disney Dream home - It's about time!

That fridge is amazing! I'm glad the inspection went pretty much as anticipated. Don't like house surprises.

::yes:: Yard pics, yard pics! And tiki bar pics.

Excellent news! :thumbsup2

I'm glad you will get to see it. Maybe yiu might even get to stay with Olga next time.

OK yard pics it is! We just came from there for a pool inspection. Things are moving along.

The results of the termite inspection are in: there is about $5,000-$6,000 in repairs that have to be made to the siding and a few other places by the seller. The wood make contact with the ground, and that's not good unless you are a termite!

Hopefully, she will do it and that will erase one of the items on our long list of "things we have to do when we get some more money."

Hi Fran! :wave2:

Glad the seller is going to repair the termite damage! That's a big chunk of change you won't have to worry about!

Darn hungry little buggers! At least the seller gets to take care of that repair for you.:thumbsup2

Hi Fran :) thanks for the update. Bummer about the termites, hopefully the seller will pay for it.

Greetings Fran! Looking forward to meeting you :-) great you got the information about the mites now. You sound like you have some wonderful people on your team :-) I can't see the vendor has an option but to cough up for the repair leaving you two with a shorter list like you say!

Hi Fran! :goodvibes Thanks for the update.

Alison, I wanted pictures of the windows. :rotfl2: :rotfl: I love me a window - especially those ones in the dining room! :thumbsup2

But backyard like Jenny as well. :goodvibes

So excited for you both.

Alison, that fridge looks amazing.. What a neat idea, how well does the door seal? Seems very interesting to me.

Fran, glad the inspection went well, hopefully the seller will take care of that. When I bought my first house the owner took the cost of repairs of the price of the house. It was harder on me at the time b/c I had to pay for the repairs, but was nice in the mortgage, not having to pay the original amount.

Thanks for the update Darlin'!

Dang termites! :sad2:

Can't wait to see it. Even DH is curious. :thumbsup2

That's cool! I can't wait to show it to you. One week after that it should be ours!

I think we'll have to tent the place before moving in though. I don't want to have to go through that while we live there! Been there done that!

I think they are required to.

Actually this is part of the home buying process in the US. You must have a termite inspection, and an appraisal, they recommend the house (what we did last week) and the pool if you have one. Did that Tuesday.

I'm pretty sure the door seals very well. It has a latch and everything.

I'm still a little jealous over that walk in fridge! Putting it on my futures list. Pity my DH! It's a looooong list. :lmao:

Termites, nasty buggers they are. So thankful that your seller deals with that stuff! We didn't have a separate inspection for the house and the pool. Our guy did both at the same time. He was also our handyman. He wasn't the best at being a handyman, but he totally rocked it as a home inspector! (Yes he was a licensed and bonded home inspector, but he humored us by taking care of our handyman jobs for us. He passed away in April and I still catch myself trying to recommend him as a home inspector.)

Can't wait to see the official "It's our home" photos!

Yeah, we had to tent at our current building a few years ago. Awful business, so we'll do it there before we move in.

It will be a while for the official, "It's our home photos". But hopefully I'll have some, "here we are along the way" photos. It's going to take a long time to go through our boxes and decide where everything goes! :rotfl2:

Glad you made it over here YoYo!

Paula, I think you requested pictures of the Cul De Sac. Here they are.

So by popular request we now have pictures of the yard.

This is the area near the garage and lawn area.

Looking back at the garage.

The doors you see on the left lead to the kitchen and family room area.

Looking out toward the grassy area.

I took these so I could remember how tall the wall to the street is.

Next to the grassy area is a vegetable garden.

As you pass through the gate (see pictures above) you get to the part of the yard with the pool and Tiki Bar. But looking back at the other side of the yard…

[Continued from Previous Post]

Now we have reached the pool and Tiki Bar.

Here is Fran sitting at the Tiki Bar.

We have a Barbeque, refrigerator and storage back there.

And behind you is the pool.

And the Jacuzzi

We asked that the patio furniture be included in the price of the house.

The pool has this really nice water feature, but evidently it cools the water in the pool, so you don’t want to use it if you are heating the water. It has a black bottom, so the seller told us there is no need to heat the pool in summer months.

This is the door to the master bedroom, so we can just go from our bed to take a morning swim.

There is one more area for me to share with you. The fern grotto is behind the pool house off one of the bedrooms that we will use as an office or library.

That’s it for now! Next up will be the windows for Lisa!

Love, Love, Love....All of it!!!!

What a beautiful home!!!!!!

(sorry, I'm late catching up on all the updates) :cool1:

If that Tiki Bar doesn't scream I'm coming to visit nothing does. :lmao: Perfect venue for your 50th! :woohoo:

It's phenomenal. Truly. I love the Long Beach houses and plant life. This house is a winner!

I agree with tenting before you move. It's a colossal pain otherwise.
