The Saga of our Disney Dream home - It's about time!

The resort is great :-) be cool if when you came through the front door you had a recording of ghost host claiming there was room for one more ...

I wanted to call our house Hogwarts but Jo not having any of it lol. No sense of adventure...then I tried Tatooine ..again nothing!

I can see how living in a pub could provide benefits. Now if this pub were the Rose and Crown I would be in heaven :-)

:lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

We would love this. We may not stay with them next time round as we have been discussing that they may join us at Aulani. With it being holiday seasons I really want to stay at VGC next year.

I hope your house inspection went OK.

Corinna

It would be fun to have you all over (provided we are actually moved in!) I am looking forward to get back to entertaining in my home again!

How was the inspection? Ooh naming is fun :)

It went OK, just really loooooooong, it was 4 hours!

Update both! :teeth:

I'll do my best!

HOUSE! HOUSE! HOUSE! :flower3:

Well since I already have photos uploaded to PB..... :rolleyes1

Was scrolling through the boards and the title of this thread caught my eye. WOW, what a beautiful home! Congrats, may you both have many years of happiness. You know it is a Disney home even on the outside, the tiki bar is reminiscent of the pool bar at the Poly::yes::.

Thanks! I hope that we love and enjoy this home and have many happy years entertaining here!

Oh my! I go AWOL for a few weeks and you two go and buy your dream home!

Congratulations!

I'm so excited for you both. I was getting a bit worried though, while I was reading this thread from the top.

May you have many wonderful new memories in your new home. I hope your home inspection went well. That walk in refrigerator has me drooling. You will love having a walk in pantry. I don't know what I'd do without mine.

Happy packing! :woohoo:

Thanks! I know it all happened really fast. This place was way to cool to not jump on it. Fran kept telling me we needed to look further and I couldn't get past how perfect that it was as is. She wants to add a second story for the Haunted Mansion room, but we'll get there.

You only have to wait 40 seconds between Dis-posts. :thumbsup2

And of course, it doesn't take me any time to compose the text.... :rolleyes1

I can't wait to hear your plans for the house.

Plans at this point are only for the necessary improvements. However, I did take measurements and we will start figuring out furniture!

That's funny! Fran had suggested La poquita Gatita, the little cat house, but I suggested that we keep working on a name.

Good luck to you! I'll be watching for updates.

Thanks! and :welcome: glad to have you on board!

Lol re the little cat house. Le maison de chat..( my french is rubbish lol )

So I'm going to tell you all about the walk in refrigerator since that seemed to the most curious item on everyone's list. As well as mine!

This is the refrigerator.

So I went and stood inside the fridge and took these pictures. The shelves are like industrial shelving and some of these pictures are looking out back towards the small windows of the fridge.

Basically, this fridge is a room with an air conditioner set to a very low temperature. I would love to stand in here on hot days!!!!

All the pictures that I have posted are pretty much a panoramic view of the fridge from where you can stand. It's not like it is a huge fridge, but you can stand inside it. The best thing is that when I have to make food for 40-50 people, I can easily put it in my fridge. I'm not a caterer, but I sometimes play one on stage. With our current situation of two apartments, I have been known to fill our second apartment fridge with food for a catering event. It will be so nice to have a place to put trays of food when I am cooking for a crowd that isn't in the garage or somewhere remote.

Next up, not sure? Pictures of the yard? The storage? I took some really weird pictures in the inspection.

Which by the way went pretty OK. He found lots of stuff wrong with the place, but nothing we didn't know about or that was horrible. A lot of it was weird, some of the way they refitted plumbing, but nothing detrimental to our moving in other than what we already knew.

However, we do have our work cut our for us down the line as we will want to eventually fix the weird stuff. I am just singing the song (to be sung to the tune of Battle Hymn of the Republic). We-ee-eee can do that later, wee-ee-ee can do that later, we can do that later when we have more money so we won't end up going broke!

Great photos of the walk in fridge! Do you act I am guessing? Cool! :-)

The fridge reminds me of when in my youth I worked when at college at Mcdonalds. They have fridges and freezers you could stand in. Much larger though like rooms really. They were nice on hot days particularly when you were taking your dreaded turn working the 'fries' station. I still have the burn scars. But I would eat from the floor in that place. They had us there till 4am scrubbing every single component clean. Very hygienic.

Looking forward to next instalment!

Yup. No doubt about it. That walk-in is really "cool".

I'm happy for you to post anything you want next.

:dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

The seller accepted our offer!!!!!!!!

:cheer2: :cheer2:

Woohoo!

As you can see I'm late to the party... I'm always late to everything. I've been wondering how you went (but I've been in a sinus haze and wondered lots of things in my drugged, fogged state) :)

Pineapple Paradise and Serenity Farm are lovely names! Where we lived as a family growing up our house was called The Olde Smithy because in the 1700's it was an Old Smithy :-) we were forever finding old horseshoes in the garden. It was quite dangerous sometimes with the nails for our beloved family cat!

I've always dreamed of living in a converted church or stables. I also want to live in something like the Bennett girls lived in before they were 'penniless' after their father died.

We have a converted old schools in England. They are magical. I think must be like living in Hogwarts lol.

Congrats!!!:cheer2::cheer2:

I couldn't see all the pics but from what I could see the house looks AWSOME! It's beautiful I love it all especially those windows in the dining room.

I would love having that fridge. Every summer when I go pick fruit I have to put it all out on the dining room table, and take up every inch of space. I would much rather put it all in the fridge.

Love that fridge! What a clever idea.

What a fridge! My cousins back East had one similar to this and was amazing.

Do you have names for your homes in America or just numbers? I was wondering if you were going to name it like Villa AliFran or The Haunted Mansion....

My DH named our house when we moved. He loves watching British mysterious and loves how houses always have names. So, he insisted that our house had to have a name. Highland Manor, yes he uses it when he orders things to be shipped. Fine, USPS screwed up once because they didn't read below for the house# and street:confused3.

To make it official, I had a wooden sign made with the name and date established (our settlement date), for our porch.

I'm not sure I would eat from the floor anywhere! :rotfl2:

We'll see what I can do I have lots on my plate now! The good news is that after we have our lunch, the seller said we can go look at the place!

Woohoo!

I don't even know who the Bennet girls are! :lmao:

Hogwarts would be cool! :thumbsup2

The windows in the dining room are one of the awesome features! I can't wait to post more pics now that we are back.

I know! I think I'm going to love it too. What a great fridge!

It's definitely awesome!

What a fridge! My cousins back East had one similar to this and was amazing.

I hope they enjoyed it. I plan on enjoying this one.

Yes, that is what I think too :thumbsup2

I'm not sure I would enjoy living in Hogwarts. The idea of not having my own room and ghosts in paintings isn't all that appealing! :rotfl2:

That's cool and funny all in one thing. I will name the house, but not ever use it other than in conversation.

I hope to be back to update this report soon, we were at the D23 Expo this weekend. Now that we are back I will update more promptly! :teacher:
