The Scrapbooking Vacation Rules Trip

The Team
Tony :driver and holder of all travellers’ cheques
Theresa :navigator and chief scrapbook shopper
Maddison :2nd in command of scrap book shopping
Callum :owner of the RED hair

Sat 29th and Sun 30th July

None of us slept very well as the beds were much smaller, the blankets barely covered the bed let alone usl and the air con was rattling away right next to our ears all night. Our expectations have risen hugely now we have been indulged at the Sheraton.

I got up and fetched some coffee, juices and Danish from the complimentary breakfast for us while Theresa finished off the packing.

We checked-out and went to the Golden Corral on 535 (opposite The Sheraton) for a proper breakfast. We tried to call home but the phone card didn’t work so I text pete to say he would definitely need to bring our car to get all the bags in.

We had a game of Crazy Golf at The Hawaiian Rumble near The Golden Corral and Callum won.

Next we drove up to Waterford Lakes as it was on the way to the airport and bought some more scrap book stuff, as Jo-Anns had a sale on Theresa bought a cropping bag for half price. It is a bit like a slightly oversize hand luggage bag with one of the pull along handles built in. (We now had 7 items for the hold.)

It was really hot so we had lovely smoothies and some free coffee samples from Barnies and then bought some mags. and books for the flight from Barnes and Noble.

The fuel warning light came on, on the way to the airport but we made it without having to buy anymore.

We met Emma and her family in the airport and they told us they had had a lot of rain which surprised us as we had seen hardly any.

The flight left on time and the films were Ice age 2 which was good and one about dancing that none of us can remember the name of .

We were worried about the weight of the luggage (remember the half a tree in scrap book paper :lmao: ) but we were about 20 kg under our double baggage allowance so that was OK.

We landed on time but the queue and wait for the luggage was huge so we didn’t get to Peter until 10.30.

When we got home the living room and dining room floors looked amazing (it was like walking into a new house).

When we unpacked, we found that the American customs had opened one of our cases and when they had closed it they hadn’t wrapped a carton of coffee properly and it had gone everywhere. This would not have been too bad but unfortunately that bag had also got damaged and water had got into it and made everything wet. We were going to put in an insurance claim but we managed to washout all the coffee from the clothes and the case would not have come to £50 which is the amount we would have had to payout for the excess so we didn’t bother.
