I can honestly say that I have now heard something totally new on the DIS boards. I thought I had heard every rumor, backstory, myth, special, secret, tip and 'you can only find that info here on the DIS' there was - but never EVER did I hear anything like this.

Note to self - Self, don't roll meatballs with your nose at Tony's - it won't get you ice cream, but it WILL amuse the waitstaff. . . . .

I have never heard this rumor. The one I have heard is if you are there for your anniversary the server will make the DH roll a meatball to the DW. It is not the meatball you are to eat. DH heard this and forbid me from making a reservation there to see if it was true.

Also, I've been cruising the boards and other Disney sites for a few years and I DO remember reading it somewhere -- I wouldn't have done it if i didn't think it had a meaning behind it. Anyway, enjoy the photo, lol.

To make a long story short:
Just returned from a wonderful 7 day Grand Gathering split stay at CR and AKL. Had ressies for 830 at Tony's Town Square in MK. Ordered the spaghetti with meatballs, made sure the server was watching me, and proceeded to roll the meatball across the plate with my nose to my g/f. The server must have thought it was cute, she offered to photograph it.

I assumed all was well. Until I realized I had not received my free dessert! Paying for the ice cream made no difference to me, but I would have liked a little Disney magic. I've read/heard a lot about pulling this famous re-enactment of Butch and Lady which is supposed to yield a freebie of some kind. Surprised, I asked the gentleman at the front check-in desk if he had heard of this; he had not. He turned and asked several servers if they had heard of it, and they had not either.

In conclusion, rolling the meatball with your nose at Tony's may have scored points with servers and CMs years ago, but today it stands as a myth. =[

Someone mentioned it sounded like Tony was saying Pooch instead of Butch.
Well, for years I thought Butch was calling Pidge the B-word! You know, female dog! I thought maybe it was acceptable back then when the cartoon was made, since b**** is an actual word before it became a bad word.
