The Revitalization of the DIS Collectors Board: A Proposal

OK, folks. We all know it has grown too quiet around here lately.

Yes, there are <i>other</I> message boards about pins . . . but this is the <b>first</b> one ~ the <i>original</i> ~ <b><i>the granddaddy of them all! </b></i>

The pinpals who post here have friendships that run <i>way deeper</i> than pins.

Here is the place where I could find understanding for my addiction and general support when things in <i>real life</i> just aren't going too well.

<center<b>***So How Do We "Recapture the Magic?" ***</center></b>

<b>I'd like to propose this simple plan:</b>

1. Each one of us could try to visit here at least every other day, and <b>reply</b> to at least one post -- or start a <i>new thread.</i>

2. At least once per week, post a <b>trade request</b>, or respond to someone else's. <i>Remember: There are some long-time traders here that have some wonderful hard-to-find old pins. </i>

3. Try to fit pin chat back into your life, at least twice per month.

4. And then I tell two people, and <i>you</i> tell two people, and <b>they</b> tell two people, and . . . <i>Well, you get the idea. </i>

Doesn't sound that hard, right?

So, since I count <i>myself</i> among the most guilty, I'm enrolling myself right now in . . .

Ok, count me in too. I read 6-8 different boards on DIS every day but don't post as often as I did in the past.
I promise as of today I willwork hard to become a faithful member of the DISCBURP Peggie

Thanks for starting this post and attempting to rejuvenate this board, Robyn!
I'll try to post more and I already come to chat as much as I can.
But, my question is, where are the pin chat hosts? There are no weekly announcements of the scheduled pin chats anymore.
"If you host it, they will come!"

I have been kind of quiet lately - and kind of sick, but I do remember all the wonderful things that have happened on this board. All the wonderful annoucements and also some sad ones.

I also remember how everyone here helped me raise over $1000 for the Cancer Society with the Peachident Pin.

I miss chatting with everyone. I will make the effort.

I look forward to hearing from everyone again.

We can all make this work.

I too have done more lurking than posting.

Although the day Fred was awarded his Scoop pin, I posted that same night. Only 2 responded. I have to admit, it was a tiny bit dissappointing.

Ahh, I'm over it. And still VERY proud of hubby, he done GOOD!!

February must be my month for nostalgia ! I've been scrapbooking a lot lately & have become reacquainted with a grammar school friend & "met" (over the phone) a friend's second wife (which I didn't know he had ).

So now I'm reading here & it feels like "old home week!" I am not into pins & collecting them as I once was. I have not kept up with what pins are out there, what pin events there are, etc. I still have some traders, but most are older pins. Maybe I'll post the list on the traders board just in case someone wants/needs something .

Count me in the guilty category. I read the boards every day but I can't remember the last time I posted. Shawn and I are even considering going to WDW without the kids for a pin event this year again....haven't done that in a while.

I knew if I complained long enough and loud enough to Robyn about nobody being on the boards or chat, she would get sick of my whining and get something going!
