sorry to hear about your mom; she is in our prayers! Glad to hear it was not a stroke and she will be OK soon. Great finds at the disney store...now I really wish I had talked Danny into going to the mall thrusday when we were out there or Friday afternoon when we went to MS. Hope the hat comes in soon!

Thank you Connie. I was so glad it wasn't a stroke too. I am hoping to go back to the mall Tuesday, depends on how my mom is doing. It has been so cold here the past few days I don't even like the idea of getting out in it. My leg did great without the boot, well I walked well without the boot, my leg has been hurting today and I am trying not to take too much pain medicine.

My mom and I were thinking on going May 14-22nd-- and we are wondering what the crowds are like-- and what the weather is like-- if you can shed any info it would be greatly appreciated now i am going to go catch up on your PTR! Thanks Christie!! She is doing better. I got to take her home Tuesday. I am going to go over there today and see if I can get some stuff done for her, and help my sister get their house cleaned back up from where the furniture had to be moved for the paramedics. My sister has a bad back and she can't move furniture without some help. I will take Tyler with me and he can move stuff.
The treehouses do look awesome. I looked at pix of them Monday night and they look like somewhere I could live.....

I am so glad to see you back, missed ya on here . This will be our 4th trip in May. The crowds are manageable because most schools are not yet out, the weather is USUALLY pretty good. Last year was bad because it rained on us the WHOLE week we were there. It is hot, but not August hot. The mornings and evenings are usually warm with the temps in the upper 60's low 70's and the daytime highs in the mid to upper 80's. If you go May 14-22nd we will miss each other by 2 days . We were able to change up times on a few of our ADRs May 2008 and 2009, so the restaurants were not booked solid.
I hope you get to go so we can plan your trip too

After much talking and number crunching, I made the tough decision to change our plans for our May trip.
When the AP rates came out I was ecstatic with the discounts because we were going to stay at the Poly for 6 nights and renew our APs . Now as most of you know Dale doesn't get into the planning of our trips, he usually just leaves it all up to me, that way he gets to go have fun without all the work of planning the trip . Monday night ushered in a NEW day for Disney planning at the Whatley home front. I was going on about the plans and the cost and so forth, and.....now sit down....Dale starts participating in the conversation . When all was finished a new plan had been hatched and it goes as follows.

We will be staying at CBR in a preferred room, May 24th-May 30, adding the DDP, renewing our APs, getting a rental car, having a second trip around Christmas 2010, and here is the clincher for me I GET A CANON REBEL FOR MY BIRTHDAY .
I really wanted to stay at the Poly, but to be able to have everything else I had to make the choice. I still had the ressie I had made in October for the Pop with the pin, so when I called to change to CBR I thought I would have to cancel and start all over. I was lucky and got Brittany and she was able to change it over from the pin code to the AP code and from Pop to CBR with out too much to-do. Well, when she quoted me the new price it was $189 more than I could book it online . She asked me if I had the AP pin I had used online and I told her no because to book online you didn't need the pin. SOOOOOOOOOO after a little searching, I found the AP pin here on the Dis and when she entered it the rate was what I came up with and she applied what I had already paid to the new ressie .
I reserved the rental car and made another ADR. I like to use rental cars to save the wear and tear on our cars. AND I ordered my camera . My birthday isn't until March, but I couldn't wait .

Here are our new plans

Pick up the rental car at 8:00pm Sunday, May 23rd, after I get home from work. Load the car and try to get some sleep .

Hit the road around 4:00 or 5:00 am on Monday, May 24th. Arrive at CBR around 1:00-2:00pm get checked in and hopefully our room will be ready and we will likely take a nap, spend a little time in the pool and then head to Tony's for our 6:55 pm ADR. And spend time in the MK.

Tuesday, May 25th
'Ohana dinner at 5:30pm

Wednesday, May 26th
Le Cellier dinner at 7:15pm

Thursday, May 27th
Chef Mickey's breakfast 8:05am

Friday, May 28th
Grand Floridian Cafe dinner 5:30pm

Saturday, May 29th
Kona dinner 7:30pm

So far those are the plans, of course they are subject to change .


More plans to come as "The May Trippers" decide on our big gathering.

I like your new plans...sounds like a good plan and you get to add so much more. We like the car rental idea to; but, our problem last year and probably again this year is that we usually end up at a total of nine days and the breaks/specials in the cost is usually seven days and the two extra days

Connie, the funny thing is Dallas didn't want to stay in a pirate room. He said the decor is "ugly" I was very surprised.
You are right about the car rental. Last year the extra day we added was like $45 and you don't get a break if you take it back a day early, they actually want to charge you extra . I reserved a Dodge Charger and Dale was thrilled about that. I reserved one for our 2007 trip, but we decided to get the Magnum because it had more room.

I finally found some time to sit down and catch up on your PTR. I'm glad you didn't end up having to have surgery on your leg. Your plans look great! I would gladly switch from a deluxe to a mod if it meant that I got a second trip and a new DSLR!! I am dying for a new camera. And to visit the World during the holiday season! We are thinking of going in Dec 2011.

Gotta love the changing of the plans dude!!! I second guess myself all the time, except for these dang treehouses. Ironically enough, CHRIS wants to go there too!!! I've NEVER heard him say that before!! I found a walkthru video on you tube the other day, and they just look awesome. I SOOOOO hope we can get one!! I keep hearing about wait lists and such!!! Anyways, can't WAIT! Also...I can always meet anyone over there on a weekend, I'm only 45 minutes away!!!! of course, if ya'll go to the KSC, I'm only about 7-10 minutes from that!!!

I'm so excited that the Christmas week I am looking at is the same as everybody else .
The 30th falls on my weekend to work, I will be off the weekend before and the weekend after......lol. That would be great though, maybe we can do it another weekend. I am hoping to get my camera in the next couple of days and I will be a picture taking idiot .

Glad you're here . Thank you Julia, I'm glad surgery wasn't needed either. I hate the idea of anesthesia. Thanks on the plans. My plans are always subject to change, but as soon as I get that camera in my hands I will be dancing . I love having the APs so even if we weren't able to stay on site we would already have our tickets so it makes more than one trip more feasible .

You may have to give me some tips on how to use the camera. I talked to a sales rep, from where I got the camera, and he was already trying to sell me more stuff to go with the camera and asking me if I had any questions. How could I have any questions when I haven't got the camera?

Girl, you know how I am about changing plans . Isn't it great when the men do get involved with the planning? I think Dale is more excited about the rental car than the trip . I hope you get a treehouse too. I saw pix and now I am going to have to go on and look at the youtube video of the walk thru. I hope you still have the plans to meet us on may 29th.
