Derek, I know those glory days seem like a million miles away right now, so take this from someone who's looking at those days from the flip side of parenthood.....Drink in everything your living now.
These days with your babies will be the days you look back on and wish you had back in a nano second! Take as many pictures as possible because you'll never have to many, even if you shot off a 100 already.
And always remember....these days of babies won't be around for ever, in fact....they will be over before you know it, it just doesn't seem like it right now and I totally understand that feeling. Stealing some time with your honey every once and a while will help with this.
My oldest baby is about to graduate this June, and I can't believe (and yes I know everyone says this, but until you live it you won't get it) it's all happened so dang fast! < allowing self to cry about it for the first time> If I can still see the screen to type....and then having a ten year old who's body decided to go into hyper over drive and not stay my baby girl....I don't have anymore babies to hold onto. DRINK IT IN Derek, before long you'll be at my end of raising kiddos and thinking back and saying to yourself..."These were the glory days and I didn't get enough of it.....I just didn't get enough." In this season of my life I think a lot about the song by Stevie Nicks (or for you younger ones Dixie Chicks)...Land Slide

Tracy, I'm somewhat late to the party but wanted to pass along a personal as well. I'm glad that I somehow inspired you to join the fun (I never really read DIS before joining but only heard about it from Wendy).

You'll have to join Jordan's Peeps (http://peepfest.ning.com) to become an "official" Peepster. I'm hoping that the Ning site can be a place to plan out future Peepfests and other gatherings.

Chapter 11. Is it cold out here?

When we last left you, Rosie, winkers, djay, blue and family were visiting with Wendy and Derek. Friendships were forged. Derek was infected. We had a great time visiting with friends and family.

Saturday Night, February 6th.

Blue and family had left a bit before us to head to the MK. Winkers, Djay, Rosie and I headed to the MK bus stops which aren't really that far from the BLT except the bus stop for Pop happens to be the FARTHEST stop and they don't let you cut across. They even have a CM standing there so you don't try to cut across the roads....

On the way to the bus stop, we're talking and all of a sudden we hear a rustling and a laugh. We turn around and Winkers apparently had fallen, or almost fallen, in the bushes. No one pushed her. She didn't trip. She just walked into the planter and kind of starting falling...I don't know if she can explain it, but she must just be listening to the rest of us talk and not really pay attention to where she's walking...Thank God she wasn't driving a cab.

We catch the bus and we plan to meet up because Winkers has her gifts for us. We plan to meet at......

I can't remember if I went back to my room, but we all met up at Petals. I took a picture of the pool, notice it's empty. It was COLD--for Florida. Cold I say. I don't think you can see the steam coming off the pool....
Sorry, not the best picture and I hadn't even had anything to drink yet.

Winkers gave Rosie and I gifts..so nice. I just felt like a schmuck not having anything to give. I thought about getting stuff for them during the trip, but it would've seemed like an afterthought gift...if you know what i mean. I ordered my first official beer of the trip.

Self: Remember less drinking this trip.
Evil Self: Ha! You're on V-A-C-A-T-I-O-N....Let it rip...(drinking that is)
Self: Nope...no more than 2 drinks tonight.
Evil: Ha!

There were two things that happened while we were sitting there. First off, I noticed I had gas--a lot of gas. A LOT! I kept having to back up and do my business, fan my behind, clear the air and walk back to the table. We got on the topic of gas...Surprise. I had said that changes in elevation cause gas--like when you go to the mountains or get on a plane (which I was just on)...Winkers, Rosie and DJay just started laughing at me. Their favorite saying, "So when you stand up--that's a change in elevation?" I replied, "Yes". Has no one else heard that? Anyways....I was extra gassy and kept having to poof.

Second, it was cold and getting colder. When it gets cold..the headlights go on and I just had to keep warming "them" up:

Rosie, Winkers and DJay left to head to bed. I grabbed one more beer. Drunk story? Sadly--nope. After Petals had closed, I did my nightly walk around the resort. My first walk around Pop. I was loving the cold air. Crisp. Still. Perfect.

I walked out to the Bridge to No Where, otherwise known as the Generation Gap Bridge:

I took another picture of the Hippy Dippy Pool because..there were people in the pool...

Rosie:

I washed up. Hopped on the germ infested bedspread and turned on the weather channel. I had to do my Tuesday Typhoon Lagoon Check. Forecast for Tuesday still 70-72, showers in the PM...still looking good for TL

What a great first full day....I had no problem falling asleep that night....
