My first thought is just some lime green scrapbooking paper/cardstock and trace a Mickey on it. I feel like a remember a template for the LGMHs somewhere on the Googles, but it was years ago. But it would be best to be waterproof, so perhaps laminating? I always felt bad taking the paint samples figuring the store likely has to buy them.

I found some lime green Mickey heads on etsy.com -- they're made of resin, so they should be fairly sturdy -- a bit small, but they might work on a key chain or as a purse decoration. Hmmm... time to get creative. People on etsy are selling die cut green Mickey heads, but I don't need a package of so many at once!

I made a new thread so that everyone can join in. I created this template, just print it off and write in your user name :) Disboards LGMH.JPG

I still have mine from years back. I printed it on green paper and laminated it, punched a hole on one corner so I could hang it off my purse with a small ball chain. There are templates all over google.

I still have mine from 2008! We used to get them from hardware stores that sold Disney paint; Home Depot was one. They had color cards for individual colors shaped like Mickey heads. I think they eventually figured out that they were disappearing for craft purposes rather than paint samples! At least, I haven’t looked recently to see if they’re still around.

I think I might have my old lime green Mickey name tag. I will have to check.
I usually have a lime green ribbon on my bag, but will add the Mickey head. :teeth:

Okay, help the uninitiated! What is the significance of the lime green Mickey head?! I want one now and I don't even know what it's for, lol :P

Because of the color of the DIS Disneyland California thread, which is green rather than the blue over on the WDW side. We would make tags for ourselves, esp. the big meetups like DIS Divas, and attach them to bags and lanyards to identify ourselves to each other at DLR. :thumbsup2

Oh well that's fun! We won't be there until next year, so I'll miss out on this go, but maybe I'll sneak a Mickey head onto our stroller handle.

Question though. Which part of the thread is green? They all look like the same color to me (light blue and like a pinky-peach). I'm probably missing something really obvious.

I am wondering the same thing! Except its all navy blue for me with some grey/silver. I don't see lime green anywhere!

I wasnt around but Im sure some of the long timers here will confirm, but its possible that when the forum had an update a few years ago, some of the section colours were changed. Im guessing before the update, the original colour for the California board section was Lime Green

Lime green was for ALL the disboards.....wore it for many years and met many Disers on both coasts.
Then it just seemed to disappear.
Sadly, other social media sites have been using the lime green color for identifying their groups when they travel to Disney properties. So it's sort of been abandoned by many here on DISboards.

That's too bad. I don't do social media at all.
I guess there are just so many colors that stand out

The last DCL cruise I was on, I saw a fairly large group with tags on their lanyards with a lime green swirled Mickey head. I asked several of them who they were on the DIS. I basically got a deer-in-headlights look, before I explained that I saw their lime green Mickeys and that's an identifier on the DISboards for others who post there. I was informed their FB group gave them the link to the Mickey head and told them to wear it onboard so they could all find each other. :rolleyes1

Yeah, I know, sad.....

Well the template BadPinkTink made says "Disboards" right on it, so that should help with the other groups!

I think I lost my lime green Mickey head around the time of the 60th anniversary 24 hour party. I'll have to make a new one...though chances are that I won't make it to opening of SWGE since I'm chaperoning a grad nite at a competing park the night before. It's always a fun accessory though. I had forgotten about it.
