the return of Captain EO???

so i was reading on another forum and i heard that they might bring captain eo back for halloween season, anybody else heard anything about this??? That would be so awesome

I don't know anything about this but if it does happen that would be awesome! I loved Captain EO when it was running and the last time we went to DL I saw HISTA for the first time and didn't really care for it all that much. EO was much more entertaining!!!

I think it is guest-generated rumors. People seem to have this notion that since MJ died, Disney should bring back Captain EO. I don't get it, but that's the logic.

For many reasons, I don't see Disney doing it, but of course, that's just my opinion.

I read about it too. I doubt that they'll bring the film back to the Park, but if they did I'd definitely go see it, loved that movie as a kid!

I have thought about this and I wonder if the memories people have of this video are better then the actual film? I remember it seeming aged and boring at the end of it's run and I wonder if they can update it enough to not seem super dated if they did try to bring it back?

I remember seeing that for the first time in 1995, nobody was in the theatre but my parents and I. And it was dated to the point it was funny. But I'm sure if they did bring it back it would do very well since everything Michael is more popular since he died. Mice Chat had some interesting points about all the hurdles that would need to be cleared to bring it back. And that was without even checking on the condition of the film in terms of if it's deteriorated at all.

Well, to put another 2 cents in, I love Michael Jackson, and don't care if it's dated, I loved it then, and would love it now.

Also, I have fond memories of EO, because my mom and dad (who is now gone) took us to Disneyland for the first time in 91, and I remember my dad being AMAZED at the 3D stuff.

So, even if it is dated, for me, it's the nostalgia of that magical trip that would make it fun to see again.

i love it, i always watch it on youtube, and after michael died, my girlfriend got it for us on dvd and i have already watched it a 100 times, it is way to funny to take seriously but the song and dance at the end is epic, thats why i think if they brought it back just for the holiday season it would be great, because some people have not seen it, and it is a epic movie.

Another vote for bringing it back for a limited run. Halloween would be a great time to do it!

I so beyond agree with you here!!!!!


My main issue with EO is the 3-D. If they bring a straight video YAWN! While MJ fans would like that, I mean you can watch a old movie anywhere. If they bring the old style 3-D back, it would give people headaches (like it did in the old days) and just look bad in compared to the new style 3-D.

I think if you are going to bring something back from the yesterdays, bring it back better, shinier and in a good way with something new to show it deserves to be back, not slap it up in a old way cause it is the current hip cool thing.

EO is even more dated then HISTA and that thing is BAD!!!!
