The remainder of the 2008 schedule is out

Sorry. I told you I read it somewhere :lmao:

Now, how do I convince my friend that it's worth the extra $350 each to do the repo?

Well, there you go......no summer 7-day Caribbean cruises for either the Magic or Wonder in 2008. :sad1:

I'm with you, I so wanted an eastern carribean in summer of 08' and would have booked it as soon as it was out. Very dissappointing. Riviera cruises don't thrill me in the first place but approximately 460.00 pp airfare for our family of five just to get there make it a definite no go.

Does Jetblue fly to/from your area? I often see specials on their website for $99 flights to California. Just thought I'd share.

There are only 3 Eastern Carrib. for the remainder of 2008 once the Magic comes back from California. :sad2: We really wanted an Eastern next time and unfortunately those three dates don't look like they will work for us. Maybe we will start checking out other lines as well or just wait until 2009.... :sad2:

Don't count on it. Rumor (and I stress RUMOR) has it that the Magic being away from the Carribbean during the summer is going to be an ongoing occurrence until another ship is completed and based in CA. That takes the Magic out of the Carribbean til at least 2010:sad1:

The 5 night Magic on 9/1 is Port Canaveral, Castaway Cay, Nassau, Castaway Cay and Port Canaveral.

I am new to the DCL- so forgive the possible stupid question..;)

If the above is a 5 night -- how does that work, since the last day at PC you are getting off the boat - so that's not a "night".. so i am only counting 4 nights:
PC
CC
Nassau
CC
Then last day at PC you disembark correct?? What am i missing ? :confused3

My best guess would be that there is a sea day tossed in there somewhere, but I have no solid facts to base that on.

So if the summer is bookable on January 31 when will the Fall available for reservations?

also we have a cruise booked for this October. If we wait until the cruise to book to get the discount will it be the same price as booking when the dates first come out? or better?

We're out too! Guess we'll wait until 2009. I was hoping for something spectacular/different for their anniversary year. They've done this before. Just gives me more time to save, and work on my patience!
Have fun planning to those of you who will be on board in 2008:sail:

Mon - PC (night 1)
Tues - Castaway Cay (night 2)
Wed - Nassau or at sea (night 3)
Thu - Nassau or at sea (night 4)
Fri - Castaway Cay (night 5)
Sat - PC

I remember reading that it was pretty chilly in June on the '05 Mex. Riv. cruise. Can anyone else add to that? I know we've been in LA in late May early June and only brought 1 pair of pants, (Hey it's sunny California!!) and really froze at night. We're shooting for Aug., so it should be pretty awesome by then.

To be honest I'm disappointed. Our wedding is in Disney on May 20th and we were hoping to spend a few days there and then take a cruise out of Port Canaveral. I guess not though :( Oh well!

I always check onboard and the cruise that I booked when the rates first came out are always lower even with the discounts.

I can tell you that Acapulco in July is hotter than Hades! I don't think I'll be able to interest my DH in going to Mexico/Central America in mid-late August - no matter how good the prices are for the repo.

:thumbsup2 The DCL website now offers more information with the dates and estimated price for the 7-Night Mexican Riviera cruises and 15-Night Panama Canal cruises. Look to the left on the Home Page and click where it reads "Go West! Mexican Riviera Cruises. Read More" Bon Voyage!:cool1:

????Where are the rest of the 2008 dates/itineraries(Fall/Winter) everyone is talking about????

Congrats to all who where hoping to see this announcement of the Magic heading west. I'm sure there are many of you who are very happy today..... :cool1: I'm just not one of them. :sad1: With starting prices of $1599 per person for the 7-day Mexican trip, I don't think we'll be flying to CA to do that one. DH wants a veranda so I would guess prices would be well over $2000 pp for that.
I was so hoping that DCL would do something different with the Wonder to make up for the loss of the Magic in the summer time, especially if this is going to be an ongoing trend. If we wait until they build another ship to make the 7-day Carribean, at least one kid will be off to college by then. Who can afford college tuition and cruises??:scared: I'd consider Princess Cruise Line, but I don't think the kids want that (neither do friends who we wanted to travel with).
Okay - time for me to stop grumbling. So sorry if I sounded as if I were having my own pity party.
