can someone please explain the world series, what happens if you win the al for your coast, what the hell is a wild card?!?

The top teams in National League and the American League go to the playoffs, whoever wins the American League and the National League go onto the World Series together. I think it's 3 or 4 wins against the team you're playing, and you win the World Series.

The Wild Card is a play-off spot. It's given to a team in each league with the best record (wins and loses) out of the teams in their league who haven't already been able to go to the play-offs. Very rarely does a Wild Card team win the World Series. It's only happened like 4 times... and one of those times was the Red Sux (2004, I think). Of course, getting the Wild Card is great- but then again everybody totally hates you if you end up winning the WS (like what happened in '04 with the Sux. For WEEKS there was constant booing and it really sucked for them, haha)

Yankees are going to the play-offs, even if it is on the Wild Card. Unless they lose every game until Sunday. Then we won't be. I doubt that will happen though...
