Okay so this is my second review, we are at POP for my DH and DS4's Birthday Weekend! I am posting from my cell phone so bear with me as the food porn posted will be iPhone pics ;). So the three of us checked in today, no dining plan this time because I forgot to add it and it was to late by the time I tried but I will spare you the details on that one! If there are weird words written in here blame it on my phones autocorrect!!! (not me, duhh!).:rolleyes1

First up...

POP Food Court

We went to the food court for an early lunch. Pretty Borin first meal if you ask me but here goes.

I got the vegetable Sushi. I forgot to take a pic but I snapped a pic of the label, haha I know that's not what you want to see. It was interesting but good. The roll had pickled Ginger in it which is kinda strange, I've always had the Ginger on the side as a pallette refresher. It was okay though. Just meh, you know what I mean?

Dave had a Bacon Cheeseburger that he said was delicious. The fries at pop were actually pretty good too. I didnt get a great pi because he was Ina hurry to eat it. You can see in the pic that he was picking it up as I was trying to snap a pic for my DIS friends!

David had the chicken nuggets which my DH ordered him the adult portion :/. Oh well, he ate one and some French fries. I could tell he liked it but wasn't that hungry. He is asking for a snack now so we may go grab one and I'll have a pic for ya.

P.s. Navigating photobucket on a phone for the first time is not easy!:rotfl:

Looking forward to the rest! Thanks for taking the time to do this on your trip. I cant imagine doing this all on your phone!

Woohoo! I have reader number 1! I actually like Doing the report on the trip, I'm not real big on downtime and DH is a fan of afternoon naps.

While DH was sleeping David decided it was time for a snack. So we hopped on over to the food court. We decided to share a cupcake. We got a chocolate cupcake with buttercream frosting. The frosting was a bit crunchy like it had been there for a while and a little too sweet but the cake was very light and moist. David really enjoyed it!

And then the damage...

Can you guess whats for dinner?

This was my first time eating at Earl of Sandwich. *The line was so long we considered going somewhere else, but it went super fast. *

I ordered the Cannonballs Sandwich, which is basically meatball parmesan. *It was good but I wanted to try DH's Full Montagu! *I tried it and liked it a lot better. *The grass is always greener on the other side right? *We ended up trading the second half of the sandwich so we both ended up with half of each. *We also shared a bag of salt and vinegar chips, nothing unusual but yummy.

David had the Grilled Cheese which looked amazingly cheesy and melty. *He was tired and grouchy so he didn't eat much but DH and I both tasted it and it was really good. *It had a good Swiss flavor and I think cheddar.

Ok now on to the highlight of the meal (besides the Montagu). *Dessert! *We got 2 Brownie Sandwiches. *One with Chocolate ganache like filling. *And one with a vanilla buttercream. *The one with the ganache was AMAZING! *It was also very rich. *We each took a small bite of the other but shared the Chocolate one. *It was easily enough for all of us to share, especially after the sandwiches!!!

This picture just does not do this dessert justice!

So excited to read these reviews :) We're doing the QSDP in a few months & I am still looking for new places to eat at!

Those brownie sandwiches sound amazing!

Thanks for the reviews.
Youre welcome! The brownie sandwiches are relish! You really have to try one, make sure you save room because we really didnt!

I'm looking forward to your review! Enjoyed the last one! :cool1:
Thanks, glad to have you!

So excited to read these reviews :) We're doing the QSDP in a few months & I am still looking for new places to eat at!
This is really our first time doing any QS places so I wanted to try some interesting ones but were getting pretty full and already skipped lunch!

ETA: I don't know where all of the *'s came from in this post! :confused3

We decided to do POP again for breakfast. *During this breakfast we realized how much we were missing our TS meals on DxDP. *:(
It is super crowded in the QS locations but even though it didnt take that long, I was still missing my nice sit down meal where there was no rush and just relaxation as someone brought my food to me! *I kinda feel like there's not that extra rest time with QS between parks and what not. *Okay I'll stop rambling and get on with the food!

I had the breakfast wrap. *It was pretty good, eggs were fluffy, tortilla was soft, bacon was good. It came with breakfast potatoes that were a little soft but had a lot of good flavor. I would get it again if I was having a QS breakfast.

DH went with the western omelet, also served with a side of potatoes. *He also liked the potatoes but said the omelet seemed like it had been there for a while.
IMG_9010.jpg

DS chose what else? *The Mickey waffles of course! *He loved them as always. *This was served with your choice of 2 sausage patties or bacon and he got sausage. *It also came with an apple sauce. *David ate the waffles only because he's a picky pain in the butt. ;). All was yummy according to him. *The sausage was ok and the applesauce is in my purse!

Those potatoes look yummy! I think I may need to try out bkfast one morning there when we are there. Only 11 more days till POP! I love that hotel and I love the food court.

OK I totally remember your last review! Are you not vegan anymore (well, that is obvious I guess! LOL)? :)

Either way, thanks for the QS reviews!! LOVE that it is live!!!

As a matter of fact, I am no longer vegan. I wasn't sure if I should go in to detail or not but I was vegan for 4 years. Then about 3 months ago I started having really bad health issues and was diagnosed with hyperthyroid and hypoglycemia and my Dr insists it was caused by my soy intake. Im not 100% comfortable with regular food yet but I need to get healthy. I'd prefer to still be vegan though.

I know this doesn't count as QS but since we are not on any DDP we decided to take on the KITCHEN SINK! Insert scary music here (dum dum dum).
So we went to Beaches and Cream for dinner.

I started with a cheeseburger with a side of french fries. It was good, not unbelievable but i didn't need it to be, i just wanted a good burger which it was. I was happy with it and the fries were good too. I didn't eat many of
them though because I wanted to save room for dessert.

DH had the Roast Beef Sandwich. It was more like a Philly Cheesesteak. It was great. I liked this better then my burger. Are we seeing a pattern here? I always seem to want what everyone else has! Poor DH!
IMG_2507.jpg

David refused food. He was really grouchy and said he just wanted a cookie. I gave in since were on vacation and all. He loved it and ate it all with the exception of the bite I took for DIS research purposes ;) and it was quite good, not too crunchy, not too soft and just the right amount of chewy and chocolate chips.
IMG_3627.jpg

On to the Kitchen Sink! We asked for it without the pineapple topping and replaced the coffee and mint chocolate chip with butter pecan and rocky road. Only problem was they gave us the mint chocolate and once it started to melt the whole thing tasted like it. It made DS throw up (literally). I didn't think he would dislike it or react to it that way especially since he only had one bite. I don't like it either and barely ate any sink because of it. I was also disappointed that someone ordered the sink before us because no one seemed to care about our "presentation". I saw the big family come in and had a feeling they were going to order it so i tried to rush through my burger but was too late. Oh well, what can you do? Better luck next time I guess but it had me wishing I had ordered the no way Jose.
IMG_1701.jpg

I will still go back to Beaches despite the sink, I'm just not sure I would order it again. I think I'd prefer just a sundae with my favorite toppings to it. It does have an interesting flavor because when you bite into it sometimes you have no idea what you just ate. Like tastebud confusion!!!

Hi Jess I'm Lorianne and I lurked on your last Dxddp report! Your report is what convinced me to go Dxddp instead of just regular ddp! :goodvibes

I too was Vegan for a long time (16 years) and had a lot of the problems you just described but they couldn't put a finger on the reason why. I'm also diabetic which was a whole other issue with being Vegan and my iron levels were in the toilet and my CFS was a constant misery. So, in 2006 I went back to eating just vegetarian and that helped some but not a lot. I slowly added in some meat protein and I almost immediately felt better. I still have to be careful not to eat a lot of ground meat because it causes me stomach issues but I eat some red meat now, a little pork, and a lot of poultry.

They are good! I wad pretty impressed with the selection POP had for breakfast. Have fun on your trip!

Oh I am sorry to hear that about your diagnosis. I have HYPOthyroid and I honestly believe it had a lot to do with soy as well. I was not vegan, but I took Soy Lecithin for a long time (to prevent clogged ducts/mastitis when breastfeeding) and shortly after that was diagnosed. I try to avoid soy now but still have it sometimes.

Anyway, I hope your health improves just from the food changes, that would be an easy fix! Unfortunately, mine haven't and I have tons of other hormone issues now... so you are very smart to change your ways as soon as you discovered the problem! :)

Looking forward to more reviews! Brave to take on the Kitchen Sink!!!

The vegan talk is very helpful as I have been furiously reading up on the vegan threads here on disboards. I am about two months in at an attempt to be vegan and will be going to WDW in August, so the information has been very helpful. I am concerned about the soy issue as I have upped my soy intake and I have had thyroid issues for about 10 years now. Any additional info would be helpful!
