The Pursuit of Disney Magic (June 7-14, 2008) ~ UPDATED 9/30 pg. 191

That is a great pic with Darth Vader! You look like a kid in it!

Wow, about the Benadryl! I can't believe he fell asleep on TGMR! :rotfl: That's some strong stuff!

Great update! I'm looking forward to more! BTW, I have already decided that I am making an ADR for Boma for my birthday next year. Your 1st installment totally convinced me!

Hurray for pictures! I love you TR Jackie... and I can't wait for the next installment!

Jackie you look positively giddy in your picture with Darth Vader. I love the picture of Connor by the fountain. You are nicer than I am, I would have made David get back to the hotel by himself. Ok maybe not if he was a sleepy as Charles sounds like he was, but I would not have wanted to take that round trip bus ride!

Just read the first 2 installments, sorry I skipped the preTR, and it's great so far your kids are so cute and what a lovely wife you are taking your DH back to the hotel. Great photo with Dart Vader, my DH would love to go to SWW :)

Jackie... way nicer than me. I think DH would have traveled via bus back by himself! That is not a quick round trip- you really were trying to travel without a huge plan!

The starwars thing would have scared my girls... those stormtroopers scare me! Great picture with Darth Vader!

Awesome installment! I'm glad that you and the kids had such a great time, and you got your picture with Darth Vadar. You know he's related to Tink and I, right?:lmao:

Aww...your first crush was on Han Solo.

Now you love Indiana Jones.

Am I sensing a pattern here? :::coughcoughHARRISONFORDcoughcough:::;)

I didn't want to make rope drop, so we strolled slowly over to the bus stop, taking a couple of pictures along the way.

Adorable picture of Connor at the fountain.

Need I mention that Han Solo was my first crush (at six)? Nah, you could probably have guessed that one.

I've always been Han Solo girl myself. All my friends went for Luke :confused3

I kept my secret well. ;)

Impressive! I would have had to talk about it!

We had decided to eat breakfast at the park, so we strolled over to the ABC Commissary. Everyone had bagel breakfast sandwiches. Charles was awake for that.
:lmao:

After this ride, I convinced Charles to head back to the hotel to sleep and return later when he was rested. I debated putting him on the bus and leaving him to his own devices to find his way back, but then visions of him in his Benedryl-induced coma riding the bus all day guilted me into going with him. Back on the bus to return Charles to the hotel room, and back on the bus to return to DHS.

As a few others have said, I would have said "good bye and good luck." Charles is lucky to have you. ;)

We found Darth Vader ...Then, it was our turn (only about a 30-minute wait). I probably shouldn't have been grinning this big, but I couldn't help it. I was getting my pic made with Darth Vader!!! :yay:

Yippee!! :woohoo: I know this is one of the things you were most looking forward to!

What a good installment! It's like getting to go all over again!

You look so happy with Darth Vader. Did you see the Indiana Jones Mickey at the Indiana Jones cart? I soooo regret not getting one. I did take a picture.;)

DISCLAIMER: I am not really such a sweet wife. I had an ulterior motive. When I pulled the camera out to take pics of Chelsea and Connor on the bus, I noticed I had the wrong lens. It was the "I-can-see-into-your-living-room-from-five-city-blocks-away or the if-I-were-Jimmy-Stewart-in-Rear-Window-I-could-see-the-contents-of-your-murdered-wife's-handbag" zoom lens. I wanted the regular one. Also, I was worried that Charles in his comatose state would lose his wallet with his KTTW and debit cards. Ordinarily, I would have pinned a tag on him like Paddington Bear (Please look after this man) and hoped for the best ;).

:darth: made you look SO happy!! That's awesome!

He did! As you can see, I have gotten over my fear of him.

Jackie---first of all, I SO desperately want to go back already!! LET'S DO IT!!! ;o)

Great first installment---sounds like you guys had a very relaxing first day so far!! The picture is GREAT!! Can't wipe that smile off your face at all, could we?!?! So far, SO GOOD!!! Keep 'em coming!

It was my Megan smile!

You are one good wife! I think for sure I would have left him to fend for himself and potentially snooze his way around the World on that bus! You get points for this! I guess Charles + Benedryl is not the best combination huh?

Cool pic with Darth! I have a pic of my BF and I in college at Disney on Spring Break with Chewbacca. It is one of my FAVE pics of all time! Gotta love that Star Wars stuff!

Can't wait for more!

Allyson

I :lovestruc Star Wars stuff!

There was no more Benedryl for Charles on our trip, I can assure you!

Cutest picture ever, you look so adorable with your Darth Vadar Glory. :goodvibes You look like you were trying to get as close to possible while maintaning some self control.

Thank you! I was!!! Also, I was on a natural high from watching him be all Darth Vadery with all the guests.

We had the Imerial March as our wedding march (you know, the song they play after they introduce you as Mr and Mrs X).....:rolleyes1

Great pic with Darth! You look excited.

And so cute about the kids.

I know what you mean about the robes. We go to the ren-fest here every year, and it is in August, yet you will see people in full garb. I don't know how they do it. I would die of heat stroke.

I love that you had the Imperial March as your wedding march!!! It was my ringtone on my phone for quite awhile!

I was dying of heat stroke, and these looked like real woolen Jedi robes!! Ugghh!

your hubby sounds like without medicine. My dad can fall asleep anywhere..lol. I really need to work on my trip report since I got back when you guys got there I am a week behind you getting mine up. Can't wait to read more

When Charles is tired, he is down for the count!

Let me know when you start your TR -- I would love to read it!

I'm a horrible shopper too...maybe Connor and I can shop together sometime...he has his own credit card right?

:lmao: He wishes he did -- all I heard all week was how he wished we would get dreamed the shopping spree.

The first set of replies is on the previous page with another disclaimer :). I hate when that happens!

There is no try. There is only do or not do. :yoda:

:thumbsup2

:rotfl2: And we did!

:lmao: Loved the foreshadowing and example bit!

And an update every other day? :worship:

The foreshadowing was for you! :thumbsup2

I am going to try!

I love the Darth Vadar pic. I am not a huge Star Wars fan but I married one. :( So it is big part of our daily life;)

BTW your kids are too cute! ::yes::

-Becca-

Thank you! They tend to be a handful!

Sounds fun!

It was!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Uh, Jackie, I think YOU may have been the only one with any doubt to that point! :rotfl:

But YAY for your OCD! 1 post every other day! :cool1:

Great pix, btw!

:rotfl2: Thank you!

Benedryl coupled with breakfast -- it was lights out for Charles!

I hope you enjoy Boma as much as we do!

Hurray for pictures! I love you TR Jackie... and I can't wait for the next installment!

Thank you!

Friday morning will be the next one!

Ok maybe not if he was a sleepy as Charles sounds like he was, but I would not have wanted to take that round trip bus ride!

I was giddy -- supposedly as I was gathering up our stuff, Connor was just standing there in awe of Vader. Vader finally had to shoo him away. I wish I had seen it!

Welcome!!! Thanks for coming over!!!

They had so many Star Wars characters for photo ops and Stormtroopers patrolling -- it was heaven for SW fans!

Jackie... way nicer than me. I think DH would have traveled via bus back by himself! That is not a quick round trip- you really were trying to travel without a huge plan!

The starwars thing would have scared my girls... those stormtroopers scare me! Great picture with Darth Vader!

Yeah, the whole no-plan thing lasted through Sunday. Sashaying around with no set plans so did not work for me!

I would have been terrified at Em and Hannah's ages, too!

Thank you! Yes, Harrison Ford is my actor's equivalent of a No Way Jose!

Adorable picture of Connor at the fountain.

I've always been Han Solo girl myself. All my friends went for Luke :confused3

Yippee!! :woohoo: I know this is one of the things you were most looking forward to!

Thank you!

Luke is so not eye candy in my book! :lmao:

It was and I did it!

What a good installment! It's like getting to go all over again!

Thank you!

I did see it, and I didn't buy it. As soon I got home, I wished I had. Next trip, maybe.

Aww, thanks! I'm honored!

This just makes the story even better!

:lmao: He wishes he did -- all I heard all week was how he wished we would get dreamed the shopping spree.
:rotfl2: Oh that's my kind of boy!

Saturday morning, I was up. The kids were up. Charles was up. Charles was playing a video game.

WHAT??? We're leaving for WDW, and he's on the computer??? Unshowered and unready???

Let me explain.

My husband is a gamer. He's played World of Warcraft, Lord of the Rings, and now he is hooked on a new one called Age of Conan. He claimed he needed to level before we left.

Hmmm, ask him if he's tried Puzzle Pirates lately. It is decidedly not anything at all like WoW, but I have played this game for years. So, I am a little bit of a gamer geek too. For that matter, you should try Puzzle Pirates too!!

PM me if you are even a little bit interested... for more info.

I remember Disneyland back when they had ticket books, and then they had the stick/pin on all-ride passes (which would always get blown off of you on Space Mountain). So, I always nod knowingly when someone refers to something being an E-ticket.

Anyway, cool that we were both there at the same time ;-)

great update~ I am laughing so hard at the thought of your DH asleep everywhere! Your kids are soo cute, I love that picture of Connor by the water fountain! We loved seeing all the stormtroppers too, although we didn't see them at RD we saw them later on in the park... :)

Passing under the entrance, we saw them. STORMTROOPERS! I don't know who was more excited -- Connor or me! I had tears in the corners of my eyes, I was so giddy!

Here's the one on the left:

Here's the one on the right:

Here is their group shot:

We just stood and watched them for awhile. Their little routine /QUOTE]

Did you happen to hear what the Clone Trooper on top of the building, on Hollywood Blvd, was saying as people walked by?

You look like you were a bit closer up in the line, so maybe you passed by him earlier than we did? From the looks of your pics, we were standing directly behind you about 10 feet at the turnstiles.

Jackie---I SO love the details of the real reason you went back!!!!! TOO too funny!! You always keep me laughing!!! And thanks for the shout out to Megan's smile--too sweet! Jen

You are soooooooo funny. I can't help but laugh out loud. :lmao:

I want to get rid of my husband to whenever we go to the world. He is such a party pooper. Wants to leave early from the parks, won't let me go into any of the stores. Charles & DH should hang out by the pool and let us be happy in our world. :offtopic:

This just makes the story even better!

:rotfl2: Oh that's my kind of boy!

I figured that I had accidentally painted an unselfish portrait of myself -- it needed fixing. ;)

Connor is my shopper, that's for sure -- and if he has money it just burns a hole in his pocket.

Yes, definitely interested in hearing more about Puzzle Pirates!

The fact that you had ulterior motives for going back with Charles just makes the story even better! :lmao:

Of course, I don't know why I bothered since I only took one picture (the Vader one) with the regular lens. I guess that was worth it, though!

Thank you!

I kept wondering what other people were thinking when they saw him asleep at 10:00 in the morning. :scared:

Isn't that crazy that we were so close!?

I didn't catch what he was saying, what was it?

Sounds like an excellent plan! Charles has a low tolerance for the parks to begin with, although he did get with the program pretty well by the second day.
