The Pursuit of Disney Magic (June 7-14, 2008) ~ UPDATED 9/30 pg. 191

Hey Jackie!!!

Lookin' forward to hearing about this trip. Loving the updates very much. I love love love the passports and wallet.

I am no teacher by trade, but ever since homeschooling, I have had the NEED for organization and some sense of order. I am FAR from OCD(possibly the opposite), but do love to have my VACATIONS in better order than school at times! I am looking forward to planning our cruise in more detail by the end of the year. (I WAS first in college for early childhood education but decided they need a HIGHER salary for all the PARENTING they do, and so it was not in my heart to do!!, (I wound up in the medical field). I truly admire teachers, you and policemen(most of them) deserve a lawyers or doctors income. You raise and protect our families. Thanks!

Winkers has the healthiest sense of humor I've seen!!! She is HILARIOUS! B/t your PTR and Jordans TR, I am always crackin' up.:lmao:

I am DED over you showing the Last Crusade in your classroom. And making the comparisons between yourself and Indy. Ah, the Indy-fication of impressionable young minds. Start 'em early I always say!!!

Congrats on 19 days! I'm getting really excited for you!

That calls for some

That storm was pretty bad last night. We came out of dinner about 6:45 last night and the sky was black. Then it started to hail as we drove home, it was a short storm tho by us at least. yea for the teen count down! :)

Today marks the official start of the Teen Days!!!

18 days!

if you have been reading along you know I have a phobia about tornadoes.

I don't even live in a region that sees many, if any, tornadoes and I have the phobia too. For earthquakes as well. I think that's the only thing that keeps me from seriously considering moving to San Diego. I've never been there but people tell me that if I go I won't ever want to leave!

:flower3:

14 days for us!! I am so excited!! I know you are too!! I sure hope we run into each other!

And we Tivo'd the first 3 Indy movies last a week or so ago. I adore them but my kids had never seen them. We have started watching the first one and they seem to like it. I want them to LOVE it! LOL! I can't wait for this latest one either. My parents are big fans, they are going Thursday to see it. It is DH's birthday on Thursday and as much as I would love to take him that night we have a concert to attend for our oldest dd. Harrison has aged soooooo well hasn't he?

Allyson

Connor loves them -- Chelsea watches them. Harrison has aged very well! I can't wait to go see the new film -- it could be horrible and I would still enjoy every minute of it!

Yikes! I'm so glad the tornado missed you! Only the male species could act like nothing is happening with a siren going off!:rotfl:

My ds in 8th grade has watched all 3 Indy movies this year in history!

I was shocked that they were sitting there as if nothing was going on! :sad2:

That cracks me up that Evan watched them in history! Because they are so historically accurate and all -- not! ;)

Thanks for all the compliments! I love teaching which makes the salary a little more bearable! As long as I can still afford my Disney vacations, I am all set! ;)

Hey, I figure part of my job as a teacher is to make sure they have the same reference points as the rest of us -- in my world, that includes Indiana Jones!

That storm was pretty bad last night. We came out of dinner about 6:45 last night and the sky was black. Then it started to hail as we drove home, it was a short storm tho by us at least. yea for the teen count down! :)

It was so nasty and I wasn't expecting it at all -- I am usually a weather junkie and know hours in advance if something is headed our way -- not yesterday. :sad2:

Have fun on your trip. You come the day after I leave FL

I can't wait! :goodvibes

I hear that San Diego is lovely as well -- the earthquake threat though -- .

I hope so too! Maybe at DHS on the 8th!

Wow--just two weeks!!! Hope to see EVERYONE there!! There are so many of us that will be there at the same time!!! One big Disney Party!!:cool1:

:cool1: :dance3::banana: Lovin' the Disney Party! :banana: :dance3: :cool1:

I'm lovin' the Disney party, too! :cheer2:

Homeschooling has made me into a more organized person. Although , right now i am in denial mode. I don't even wanna think about it. I have friends that are planning the year already and i usually am. PLus they are waiting on me for some classes we are doing together. So I am giving myslef a summer break then getting back to planning.

I truly beleive and mean what I said about teachers and policemen. I admire your efforts and love for the job-there is no other way it could be done, which is why I got out of it in college. I thought it was what I wanted to do, but realized(thankfully early on) that I didn't want to help raise someone elses kids. I say that even now as a homeschooler. I can teach my own, and maybe my DN5, but no one else. A doc I work for asked me to homeschool her son(I have known other homeschoolers to make up to $1000 per month to do it) and I had to turn it down. It is one thing to take ones own kids education into thier own hands and another to take another childs. I don't think any amount of money is worth that stress, esp if they are hard to teach and hard to deal with. I KNOW my kids, what they like and dislike and how to deal with behavior issues. I think it is a fine line these days with disciplining someone elses kids, on top of teaching. I admire a teachers disposition to be able to deal with other peoples kids so well, for the most part-to love them and help them.
I think my children will thrive and be successful people in society one day. My goal is to have it on thier hearts that being a mom is just as good a job as being a lawyer, doctor, teacher, or nurse. I want them to have the education to choose either way-have them college bound.
I was taught that college was the only way and girls can do things better than boys, but that was not on my heart. I guess i needed more options so that is what i want to give my kids-then direct them in the way they are gifted.

Sorry for ramblin'

Lori

HAPPY INDY DAY TOO!!! Wow, it feels like a national holiday! ;o) Enjoy the movie those of you who will be seeing it today. Since it is Mom's bday, Mom wins out over Indy--but I believe hubby and I are going out on a DATE on Saturday to see it!! WOO HOO!!!

15 DAYS 15 DAYS 15 DAYS UNTIL I'M BACK AT THE MOUSE'S HOUSE!

Hey Jackie,

There was this guy looking for you late last night at the midnight showing of the new Indy movies. I dunno, something about cuddling and a fear of snakes:
