The Pursuit of Disney Magic (June 7-14, 2008) ~ UPDATED 9/30 pg. 191

Finding oneself back in the Real World after a satisfying jaunt to Disney World is often accompanied by a case of the Disney Blues. In order to combat said case of Disney Blues, it is important to bring back loot.

So says my mom! :rotfl:

For you viewing pleasure, the Souvenir Hit Parade or the Best of the Best!!!

Here are our Poohs that we drew at the Magic of Disney Animation. Remember, that Chelsea got frustrated and refused to complete it.

UP NEXT: FINAL THOUGHTS!

Those are lovely souvies! I like all your drawings of Pooh--and I see a Hidden Jackie in the silhouette of Chelsea and Connor! :lmao:

Chelsea's caricature is also adorable. :goodvibes

I can't believe this is your penultimate TR post (aside from replies, and unless you decide to stretch out your final thoughts into two or more... :rolleyes1 )! I've said it before and others have said it before and I'm sure we'll all say it again--but you will be starting your PTR after this, right? Right?!?!?

Thank you!! Yes, I did see the Hidden Jackie when I was posting all of the photos. :lmao:

Yes, there will be a PTR started when this one is all finished. :goodvibes

Can I just tell you how much I love this piece? Where did you get it? Were there more that matched?

It's my favorite souvenir -- it is stamped handpainted in Zimbabwe. I found it in Mombasa Marketplace which is the gift shop in the Africa section of Animal Kingdom. Here is the outside of the building:

There was also a pitcher, a large bowl, and maybe a mug.

You just SOOOOO made up my mind to DEFINITELY get silhouettes done of the kids at DL! It is so precious. Did you have it framed there or did you bring it home? If you brought it home, how did you keep it flat? And the caricature is so perfectly Chelsea!

Thanks for sharing, CP!

Great souvenir pics!

You got some wonderful things on this trip. The silhouette is such a wonderful idea!

I don't want your TR to end!

you got some great souvis... can't wait for your final thoughts too, working on mine as well.

Love the pics of the souvies---the ornament you got we got back in 2006 and it looks so AWESOME on the tree!!! Reflects back all that light and makes it so beautiful!! You will LOVE it! Don't have much to say, but just wanted to say "hey!" Hope school is still going well for you!!! Hope to hear from you soon! Jen

If you find one, let me know -- I will totally volunteer to be your research partner -- I'll keep the lab notebook and everything! Think we could use it as a thesis for a doctorate???

We need a support group or something -- oh, that's the DIS, isn't it? ;)

I am trying to think of things to do that will help each month go by -- themed parties, movie nights, day trips! I haven't got very far, because everytime I start daydreaming about WDW. I am incurable!

They give grants for a lot of weird things. We could sure try!

The Dis is a good place to hang around. There are good people here!

That's what we do. Whenever we all get together, we have some kind of Disney theme going. Brooklynn's Monsters, Inc. birthday party will be this weekend, and we're going to Disney on Ice in September, so that'll help the wait until November.
From November to July - that's another story.
And not a good one.
We're planning to do Playhouse Disney live in March, but other than that, it's just a long, long wait.

Oh, yeah, we are having a new baby Diser coming in April. I guess that could help the wait! :)

Connor did a great job on Pooh!

You'll have to get two soaps next time - one for display and one to use.

I love the pajamas!

I so need to buy that soap!!!!! My bathroom is mickey and it would match perfectly!

that is some good stuff you got there.

i like the soap and key chain especially.

Chelsie's characature is great! I think it's the best I've ever seen!

I love every single item!! The caricature, silhouettes, soap, pjs, pottery (now I really need to shop in AK!), magnet, ornaments, star wars pins... everything!!! Every item is a perfect reminder of your magical trip. :goodvibes

Love, love, love the souvies!

Chelsea's pjs are soooo cute. Do they come in adult sizes?;)

I love the Mickey soap from Basin, and am totally intrigued by the little animals from Mexcio. I would LOVE a splash of color like that sitting on my kitchen counter!:goodvibes

The caricature is SO cute! I wish we had done that on our last trip. We thought about it once in the lobby of POFQ but there was quite a wait. It is adorable!

And the soap, love it! That just might make me try and fit DTD in somewhere this trip! Way to go, messing with my itinerary a week out! LOL!
