I stumbled across this message board a few weeks ago in preparation for my upcoming trip to the World. So far, it has cost me:

$90 - New Chaco sandals
$37 - Overland Donner bag
$110 - Maclaren Volo stroller
$95 - Keen Newport sandals for DH
$0 - Lime green mickey heads from Home Depot
and countless hours of lost productivity due to my COMPLETE ADDICTION to these boards.

Anyone else running into a similar problem?

It didn't cost me more ,but just time! LOL! I did byuy a new stroller, but it was a cheap one and DIS boards didn't persuade me to buy it. But they did help me find a cheap one. But alot of suggestions were for expensive ones, even though I said I didn't want to spend much.

This trip probably cost me the least of any. I decided there was no need to buy new things when I had enough already at home. DH did get a pair of shoes ,but he needed a pair.

Oh, the Budget board gets expensive around the holidays. They can save you so much money on the great deals that you can go broke trying to take advantage of them all.

As for the pre-trip expenses, oh yeah, if you grab all of the DIS approved goodies for your trip, you can lay down some major bucks....even on sale. Personally, I love the LGMH's from Home Depot.....because they are free. Otherwise, I am not a CROC kinda gal. My feet require New Balance or some sort of a slide on sandal with lots of squishy support. I was able to pick up a couple of cheap faux PotC messenger bags on clearance at Walmart of $4.88 each! They are wicked awesome. I was also able to snag a couple of beach bags on clearance that are beachy on one side and pirates on the other....again $4.88 and the perfect size for a towel and a change of clothes!

I have purchased t-shirts at Walmart and Disney patches and have created some really cute shirts just for the trip. I have to say that I am really tickled by the shirts. I put all the patches on them today and they look really cute! I am particuarly fond of the screaming Pumbaa face shirt that I am going to wear on my 40th because it will reflect my inner thoughts. lol But, the shirts cost less than $10 each and for a Pooh-sized person, a Disney shirt for that price is just such a deal!

Anyway, I am looking forward to wearing my LGMH's, my Team Focker Watcher lanyard, and my cheap, but extremely cute Disney wardrobe. The value of the DIS is really not able to be calculated because the company of my fellow DIS'ers is priceless. Maggie

Let's see.....Crocs for myself, two kids, and Mom (husband refuses). Everyday Mineral makeup-first read about on these boards. Baggallini.
Uh.......I've developed a Dis boards buying addiction!!:rolleyes1

Hmmm, let's see. . .

Crocs - $17.95 (thanks to budget board for discount codes)
Lime Green Baggallini - FREE (thanks to a GREAT friend I met through the DIS)
Team Focker Watch Lanyard - $1.80
LGMH from Home Depot - Free
Everyday Minerals makeup - $45 (just like above poster, I found out about it through the DIS and LOVE it!)

So far, not too expensive for me, but I am sure as I edge closer to my May trip, that will change! :rotfl2: I love the DIS! :teeth:

I lurrrv the DIS!!!

I paid $19 for an Ultimate Guide that led me here and to me that was soooo worth the price. Otherwise I don't know how long it would've taken me to find it here.
Am planning on buying Crocs (estimating $20 with a friends store Discount)
An embarrassing :scared1: amount in Disney pins off Ebay for trading.
Trip Plans to attend MNSSHP (which was not even a thought before DIS)
Trip Plans to attend pirate: Pirates & Princesses princess: (which was not even a thought BD-before DIS)
Trip plans to attend MVMCP :santa: (Which was not a thought BD)
A few too many ADRs (2 extra), ending up not being covered on DDP and have to pay OOP.
Wanting a :cake: after seeing the birthday cake thred while at WDW for birthday.
Countless hours on computer doing research :surfweb:

Knowing about the DIS though.....PRICELESS!

Wait until you start hanging out on the DVC forums...then add $15+K for owning a piece of the magic...then you have to add-on $5-10K to another resort so you don't have to wait to get your resort of choice...

:lmao: :rotfl2:
