This Pre-Trip Report was almost non-existent, because our trip wasn't in our books until August 29, 2012.

This Pre-Trip Report was almost non-existent, because our trip wasn't in our books until yesterday.

My parents took me by surprise a little, because I was asking whether or not we would be going this year as we always do.
Their response, was "maybe," then "no," to "let's not talk about it now," back to "Maybe," and then "No." So I was surprised that they said "book it."

So we booked flights and a Disney World package yesterday, August 29, 2012. I will post chapters as they come.

Only 17 more HOURS!!!!

ME.
Unemployed College Graduate. Favorite Character(s): Stitch and Tinkerbell.
Favorite Ride: Tower Of Terror. Favorite Princess: Belle.
Favorite Restaurant: Raglan Road. Favorite Park: Hollywood Studios.

My mom and I have been going yearly to the world since my High School graduation present in October of 2005. Since then we have stayed in only 3 hotels: Caribbean Bean Resort, All Star Music, and Pop Century. Caribbean Beach Resort was a high school graduation gift. In my opinion, I did not like CBR because it was too much time on the buses going to port to port in the hotel. All Star Music we did not like because the layout sucked and we ended up getting the farthest room away from the main terminal. We have come to love Pop Century. It has an amazing layout and we have gotten pretty close to the main terminal w/o even clicking on "preferred room," on disneyworld.com.

Woo hoo another November dis-er!!! We'll be there nov 12-23rd with a three day cruise thrown in there. We loved the CBR! We haven't been there since 2004 though. Luckily this trip we get to stay at three of the hotels on property. I look forward to reading more. :thumbsup2

Trip Plans

My life revolves around Disney World...literally. I'm in NJ and ever since HS, my mind just focuses on our next Disney World Trip and nothing makes me happier than a week at Disney.

countdown.png

Our trip is in 73 days! OMG! My mom and I are hoping to lose some weight prior to our trip, starting today (Memorial Day). When I got my Disney World package completed, I immediately went to do ADR's after a few phone calls to see bout "Be Our Guest" which no one was too helpful. I later learned that "Be Our Guest" is scheduled to open November 19, 2012, only one day after we leave. (pooey). (more About ADR's LATER)

Our Trip is planned for Monday. November 12, to the morning of November 18, 2012. We were heming and awwing over when to go Disney because the 2nd week of November is Jersey week, and then the 2nd of December my parents leave for a cruise (without me.) Then there was the thing about what hotel to stay at.

popart.png

We always stay at Pop Century since 2007, but this year I wanted to stay at Art of Animation (who doesn't?). But unfortunately the price for Art of Animation for us, would be enough for another trip. So we are staying at Pop Century.

pop.png

The reason we picked the morning of the 18th to leave is that we could not find a late flight home on Saturday since the only late flight leaves at 6pm which meant that we would have to leave WDW around 2/3pm which would not allow us to get a park in. We try to get parks in all the days we are at Disney World. So we picked November 18, 2012. I know that weekend is the start of Thanksgiving but hopefully it won't be too crowded.

During the week we are there, there are hardly any Extra Magic hours at night, but plenty in the morning which we are NOT a huge fan of.
I'm really angry about no nightly EMH...

Belle is my favorite princess too. :goodvibes

Looking forward to reading along!

So glad you are here TarzansKat, looking to see how many followers/posters I have at the end. :) There is going to be a surprise at the end of my PTR. hehehehe.

Advance Dinner Reservations or "ADR'S

We picked this time of the year to go to Walt Disney World, as you probably know the FREE dining promotion is being offered. YEY. Booking the trip only 73 days in advance does not really give us many of the better restaurants to choose from such as Ohana. However we did manage to get all of our favorites. :)
Here are our ADR's.

First Dinner = Raglan Road in Down Town Disney.
1_Raglan_Road_Exterior.JPG

We like this restaurant. We like the bread and vinegar they have. We have tried a few things on their menu. Such as Kevin's Heavenly ham, which in my opinion, was only okay. The potato's w/ apple were good. The best thing for dessert is the bread pudding. Yummy. They give you a LOT of it, so we normally will take it back to our resort for the next day.

My menu pick will probably be the Lambo Italiano I believe I had just the lambo last year, which was good and very filling, and dessert will be of course the bread pudding (which I used to not care for but now i do...for some reason).

Second Dinner = Yak and Yeti and Animal Kingdom

DAK_YakYeti_071207_goldhaber.jpg

This was our NEW restaurant last year and NEW favorite. Last year my mom and I had the duck which was VERY good and Extremely filling since you get half the duck w/ some veggies. This year however I really want to try the Shrimp. But still have my eye on the duck. hehehe. Of course for dessert we will get the Fried Wonton's. hehehe.

Third Table Servise = Coral Reef at Epcot

sign21.jpg

I say table service instead of Dinner because we are using our TS for LUNCH instead of dinner. hehehe. We decided lunch because we didn't want to eat at 8:45pm, which in our minds is rediculous. Coral Reef has an awesome Atmosphere: a HUGE Tank! We have eaten here before, where I got the king crab legs for dinner, and the chocolate volcano thing for dessert.
This year I am choosing: Coral Reef Lobster Orecchiette Pasta and the Chocolate Wave for dessert.

Fourth Dinner =Boma at Animal Kingdom Lodge

BOMA_1_998.jpg

This is our new restaurant for this year. We originally had reservations for The Captain's Grille at the Yacht and Beach Club but after seeing Negative reviews bout the waiter's I decided to give this a try after reading a lot of positives.

Fifth Dinner = Via Napoli

Via_Napoli_01_998x450.jpg

Today, 9-29-2012 I decided to change my reservation from Prime Time Cafe to Via Napoli. Via Napoli has the best dessert...Zapolis. Omg... I found a really good looking entre that I'm going to try which is the pasta and chicken dish. I know it's a little ordinary for Disney but i love the Zapolis. lol. The atmosphere is pretty good as well.

Our Reservation time is for 4:30pm. :)

and our last ADR is:

Sixth dinner = Kona Cafe at Polynesian Hotel

kona-cafe-300x192.jpg

We have eaten here once before and may I say the only thing that was good THAT time was the bread and butter? Last time we were here, we had the coconut crusted chicken which was part of the chefs experience or whatever they call it.

This time around I'm going to have the Oscar Tuna for the main entre and for dessert it's either going to be the Kona Cone or the White Chocolate cheesecake.

Wow! That's it's for my ADR's. For breakfast we usually eat at the Pop Century food court in which I usually get the French Toast...Yummy. For lunch we usually get a hamburger. The best hamburger we have found is at the ABC Commissary, for snacks we get either Ice Cream, Dole Whips or the Funnel Cake. You can't beat the Funnel Cake at Disney. Hehehe.

Your reservations are making me hungry. :lmao:

Looks like you've got some great choices, and I will look forward to hearing about them when you get back. Some of those places I've never been to. :goodvibes

I rate practically all of them 4.5 except boma cuz i never been and prime time cuz there's not too much to choose from. eeek. i might change the prime time adr to something else.

I had a Boma breakfast that was...not so good. I hate to give a bad review because I really believe it was an off day for the kitchen and I know there are some die hard fans on the DIS.

Prime Time is so much fun, though! I had a great time every time we ate there. :thumbsup2

We're there the week earlier (11/6-11/13). Looking forward to hearing more of your PTR

Day Plans

dayplans.png

Okay, now that the initial Vacations Plans, ADRs and EMH's have been established, on to Day plans. Although none of these plans are written in stone and usually do change, he's what I believe we are going to do. hehehe. First of all, I am highly disappointed  that there are hardly any EMH's for night time, as the morning emh's are not our favorites. Argh. The only evenings are the 12th and 16th.

:cool2: Day 1
 Day 2
:figment: Day 3

Our flight leaves NJ 7:10am

710am.png

and arrives at MCO around 10:30am.

1030am.png

With the time buses get to and from the airport we will be at our resort in time for lunch. Also now Art of Animation is part of the Scoop of Resorts to the Pop Century from MCO.

Funny thing is, that every year we go, Hollywood Studios is ALWAYS the first park we go to. I don't know why. I don't think it's on purpose, but it IS my favorite park. But normally we usually go to the park that has the least amount on the queue line at the park first day. Sometimes this is for the rest of trip.

Our dinner reservation for Raglan RD is 4:30pm so that will give us 2-3 hrs at the park of the day, which is either Studios or Magic Kingdom because the Food and Wine Festival is still going on at Epcot for that day. Argh.

After Raglan Rd, if we both choose the Bread pudding, we will probably make a stop back at the hotel to put the leftovers away.

BustoStudios.png

Then we'll and that maybe hope back on a bus to the Studios for EMH. Yey.
My goal is to go on the ToT at night at least once. Then back to our hotel for Zzzz's. lol.

Tuesday, November 13, 2012. Our mornings consist of breakfast at the Pop Century food court, which is usually the french toast with sausage and bacon, a coffee or orange juice. Afterwards we would head out to the park of choice. Having the park hopper we are able to hop parks. I was thinking either starting with the Magic Kingdom and ending at Animal Kingdom since we have dinner at Yak and Yeti at 4:15pm. I love eating right next to closing time, By the time we are done eating the park is closed/closing and we practically have the park to ourselves as we walk out of the park. Afterwards we will probably head back to Pop Century, being that there are no EMH hours except for the Friday ... Perhaps I will go for a swim in the pool at the resort or check out Art of Animation...

This day's EMH is Morning at Epcot...Just for those who wanted to know.

I saw you just posted on my PTR and saw you had your own. I'm leaving for Disney on Saturday, but I'm sigining up and will try to catch up when I get home.
