The Pre-Pre-Trip Report: MOVING TIME! 11/21 Pg. 19. The PTR has Begun!

Hi! I’m Leslie aka LL on the DISboards.

This is a Pre-Pre-Trip Report. The last two trips I’ve had planned to WDW have had to be postponed. (Canceled is a dirty word!)

First trip, I was supposed to go in late September / early October with a lovely group of DIS ladies and have mega DIS meets and good times. That trip was postponed because of the weight loss surgery I had on August 26th. I have the gastric band (realize band). I didn’t know if I’d feel up to traveling and walking around the parks, never mind how my eating was going to be 4 short weeks after surgery.

So I postponed September/October until January. Jen (jenjolt) was going to accompany me on that trip. We had a great trip planned. A wonderful itinerary with 7 versions, great ADRs and a dream resort of mine to stay at, Port Orleans French Quarter. Due to some financial things that have popped up, I’m just not able to afford a trip in January. My husband and I have been working very hard on paying down our debt this year and instead of whipping out a credit card to finish paying for January, I decided to do the grown up thing and cancel. I don’t want to ruin the progress we’ve had with our debt pay down. It was a hard decision but one I am very happy with.

I do plan on going back to Disney, hopefully in October 2010. I’m just not quite ready to commit to a PTR until I know that nothing is going to get into the way of this trip. *Fingers Crossed* Thus the Pre-Pre-Trip Report was born! I love to babble and it seems that a lot of you enjoy it too! I plan to continue to babble about my weight loss journey, the Holidays coming up and Disney for sure.

That's a great idea for a Disney planning book. Our emails back and forth planning our trips.

Oh my goodness! I am so out of it. I had no clue that you had to cancel your January trip. You are right, it is the responsible thing to do, but it still sucks!

I'm going to join in on this "ride" and live you through you as my husband still insists that "we aren't going in 2010!". Whatever.

ETA: Just saw your newest picture and you look FANTASTIC!! Almost like a different person. Marc is lookin' good too. I'm sure it helps to have someone by your side that understands what you are going through and working towards the same goal. :

Thanks on my newest picture! I am feeling good. I've started to feel thinner. Today while I was walking, my arms felt smaller and I just felt so good!

Not sure if I've posted on your PTR or TR before, but I'm coming out of lurkdom! I've followed ALL of your reports on the DIS. So sad to hear you've had to postpone another trip. You're a good girl, though, being all responsible like that. I wouldn't be able to restrain myself. I have a saying that I commonly live by (which is probably how I built up so much debt) which is: "Life is short. You could die tomorrow." And it's so true. Life is very short. Unfortunately, money is a huge contributing factor to why we can't live our lives the way we want. Who invented money anyway!?!?! There are times though when you just need a Disney vacation. You have my respect in regards to making the responsible choice. I do hope you can reschedule!!! I love your reports!!!!
