The Power of Matching T-shirts: TR is over!~ 9/20

LOVE IT! I would love to get on some of those rides with no one else around... time for flash photography!

I love your pirate attire.
The P&PP looks like a lot of fun. I wish they'd have them in the summer.
I cannot believe you sat through IASW again :scared1: You're a good friend.

Did you ever find out why the show wasn't the full show? That's rather weird!

No, we didn't, which is why we concluded one of the CMs got injured or sick. :sad1: Technical difficulties they probably would've announced, but they can't tell a whole bunch of kids that Mickey or Minnie is throwing up/broke a leg.

Very cool piratey costume! :thumbsup2 I am assuming Nevi and Melneth were princesses with their pretty dresses?

::yes:: Though I must say, on the ferry there was a woman who had a seriously cool pirate costume. It really looked theatre grade. Need I say I felt inadequate? :rotfl:

I loved the Pirate and Princess Parade when we saw it in April -- the swordsmen in the Aladdin bit were very cool!

I agree! It was very well done, IMO.

A certain pirate? I know some people who might be very excited about that! :rolleyes1

Ohhhhhh pirates, can't wait!

Evil. Evil, evil, evil, evil, EVIL!!!!!

Don't you know I have to work today?

Couldn't you have thrown me a bone here? Well, I guess the photo counts, but I'm  , Jiri!

Come on! How many days before you update?;)

:rolleyes1 Guess I'm taking a lesson from CP, Jen, and LL! :rotfl:

But my withholding will last only until Saturday. :thumbsup2

Oh to bad Mickey got sick! I actually do love that hippo. You all look very nice dressed up for the party.

Thank you!

I don't know why but that just struck me. I can picture the three of you...well, Melneth and Nevi's faces are completley obscured by large whatnots and doodads from photobucket...but I can picture the three of you whirling around guiding the animatronics along and it just tickles my funny bone.

It's certainly a moment that stuck out for me! Seriously, it'd be so cool to go on all the Fantasyland rides with no one else so we could shout advice to the animatronics and wooden cutouts to our heart's content. :goodvibes

It's when they're doing the hula. And you have successfully managed to damage my whole perception of that set of dolls.:lmao:

Glad to have ruined it for someone else! :rotfl:

I love your Pirate costume! It look so awesome! pirate: Is it wrong that I want to go to Disney when there is a P&PP??

You should! It was sooo much fun! :thumbsup2

I can't believe you rode IASW twice! I think one time is my limit per trip because even I, lover of all things Fantasyland gets just a tid bit annoyed towards the end.

We must all make sacrifices for friendship. ;)

I love the costumes. I wish we were there during the P&PP. I'd really like to see that parade in person (assuming I could convince DH to go... he thinks the parties aren't worth the money :sad2: ).

The three of us agreed that we got our money's worth. :thumbsup2 The parade and fireworks were excellent, and it was wonderful to be able to go on so many rides with no wait. We thought it was money well spent. :thumbsup2

LOVE IT! I would love to get on some of those rides with no one else around... time for flash photography!

Strangely enough, I didn't think to take pictures then. :confused3 Guess I was too hyped up.

But there are some rides where I know flash photography is prohibited at all times. When I was at the Louvre I did take a picture of the Mona Lisa (hey, everyone else was doing it!) but I guess I have more respect for Disney... which just seems wrong.

'Course, I was younger then, and more rebellious. ;)

The P&PP looks like a lot of fun. I wish they'd have them in the summer.

It's so popular, I am sort of surprised that they don't. Maybe we'll have to start a lobby.

I cannot believe you sat through IASW again :scared1: You're a good friend.

I think so! :rotfl:

But in Melneth's defense, she joined Nevi and me on the majority of the thrill rides even though they're not at all her thing.

We also debated the gender of the costumed characters; Nevi hoped that the male characters were truly played by males. "I wouldn't be surprised," I said, "if the smaller characters, like Mickey and Donald, are played by females. Have you seen how skinny their legs are?"

A friend of my brother's, who worked at Disney, advised that most non-face characters are played by small (5'4" ish) females and that (obviously) the male face characters are played by men.

"Peter Pan was male," Nevi said, and I agreed that yes, the Peter Pan CM was male. But I also noted that in the play, traditionally Peter is played by a female due to all the aerial work.

A la Mary Martin. :goodvibes

There he is!

There I am!

We headed back to Adventureland, because I wanted an encounter with a certain pirate before the fireworks.

Oh the places I could go with this.
But I won't. ;)
Thank you and you're welcome!

And oh yes. A certain pirate.

Oooo. Such a tease!

::yes:: I figured as much. Though isn't the average female supposed to be 5'4"?

There I am!

Dang it, I should've waved and shouted "Yo, Tink! It's Jiri, from the DIS!" :rotfl:

Oooo. Such a tease!

I try.

Well, not really. In this case I realized that what I'd initially planned to write on ended up being kinda short, so I extended a bit, but then felt I didn't have a proper ending and/or hook, so tossed that in there.

'Sides, after CP, LL, and Jenn, I felt entitled. :rotfl:

::yes:: I figured as much. Though isn't the average female supposed to be 5'4"?

I think so. That or a smidge taller. I think 5'4" is the tallest they can be, though I'm not positive. I could be totally making that up.

I've also heard it's the most excruciating job. Apparently it's HOTHOTHOT in Pooh's head! Hence all of the "breaks" for Minnie to "powder her nose".

Dang it, I should've waved and shouted "Yo, Tink! It's Jiri, from the DIS!" :rotfl:

I totally would've been like, "Yo! Jiri! What up dogg?"

Then I likely would've dislodged myself from my float and tried to accost one swarthy pirate.

I have never, ever envied the poor CMs who play non-face characters. If I get too hot (and lock my knees :rolleyes1 ) I am of the fainting sort. I'm 5 inches too tall for such a job, but if I weren't, I seriously think if I had to be out there in the heat of summer, I could potentially traumatize scores of children by fainting.

But I have thought the "powder her nose" (and one other excuse for a certain pirate that will come up in the next installment) and such also enable the CMs to get away from the lines of kiddies without making them feel the character doesn't have time for them.

It's just as well, then, that I kept my mouth shut, because of course TK would be upset if there were no pirate left over for her. ;)

That's an easy compromise for thrill rides.

Yes, we do have these types of discussions.
I understand. I have those conversations, too. Sadly, with myself. Leo's not into character gender discussions yet. ;)

But the parade was set to start at 8:30, so we booked it over to Frontierland so we could watch it from its starting point
Yay! This is my favorite WDW parade ever! :yay:

If I were an unpublished poet rather than an unpublished novelist, I might try to come up with some meaningful and lovely bit of verse to describe it. But I am not an unpublished poet, so I will not.
Perhaps a haiku?

And oh yes. A certain pirate.

I know! Disney+money maker=no brainer. Or so I woulda thunk.

:rotfl: What about Gramma, though? Or Char?

Perhaps a haiku?

Hmm...

Lovely parade pix
Begin with evening-light shades
And then get darker.

You asked for it! :lmao:

So, curosity got the best of me and I followed your TR link from V's. Bad V for not sharing! :rolleyes1

I love your writing style - so similar to V's. In fact, I'm having a bit of punctuation envy over here. ;) But I'm hopping on board, with my run-on sentences and typo's. Hope you don't mind. :teeth:

Alright.

I don't care if it's 630 am.

It's Saturday.

Where's the update?;) ;)

:welcome: Thanks for joining! Yes, V and I do share a love of the semicolon. In the traditional usage, not just to make this guy ;)

Run-on sentences are certainly welcome here! TarzansKat, Tinkerbellarella and I have a running contest to see who can come up with the longest sentence (though it takes place on numerous threads). Anyway, thanks for joining!

:lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2: Not that we are impatient or anything!!!

Sheesh! Your 6:30 is my 4:30, you know. I was still in bed and actually asleep when you posted that.

But the update needs to wait. Until after chores. And I think I need to do some pic editing on Photobucket. And then actually write the installment.

I do promise, though, that I'll get it taken care of before going shoe shopping this afternoon. *hugs $10 DSW Rewards Certificate* :thumbsup2

I'm going to DSW today too!

My dog ate one of my favorite Teva flip flops the other day, so I need to get a new pair. I think I'm going to save this pair for Disney though. And it just happens that I received a 5 dollar off coupon for my birthday month! :cool1:

Can't wait for the update! popcorn::
