The Port Report: Frumpin Around the World with the Bathrobe Princesses :) COMPLETE

That's too bad that you guys were disappointed with the dinner at Crystal Place, it was one of our favorites when we were there.

I can see though how everything added up to make it a not so great experience, but luckily you did get to meet all the characters.

Looking forward to more

Yey another update :goodvibes
It's a shame you didn't have a really great time at Crystal Palace, but you have to have a few lows in a trip to see the amazing good times, especially the fab times earlier in the trip :goodvibes The photos from Wishes are really good from that angle, proves you don't have to be on Main Street to see them :thumbsup2
Looking forward to the next instalment popcorn::

Great job!
I'm along for the ride!! popcorn::popcorn::popcorn::

Thank you! I'm glad you're here!

Great update!
I love how they take pics on SM now. I saw some people taking some real funny pics on it.
I have never been to 'Laugh Floor'. After reading TR's, I'm hating that we never went to it.
The girls look like they had a fun time in the robes while you were catching up on your nap.

haha I know! I need to think of some creative poses for next time because it's a good photo opportunity. And oh you HAVE to go to laugh floor! Your kids would love it! It's really an adorable attraction :) And yes, I'm sure they did! It's always fun to spend some time around the resort in bathrobes...

hi! i'm new to disboards and your trip report is the first i read! you girls look like you're having soo much fun! i can't wait to read more! :)

That's such an honor! :) I'm so glad you found us!! We had a great time, and I can't wait to share more with you!

Hello Jess dear. :) Great update! I look so angry in the pic with Tigger cause I was mad I missed Eeyore. But then Pooh cheered me up. BTW my food of the day is called a Passion Fruit Tart. And yes you were right about whose dessert/dinner plates were whose. :thumbsup2 I felt so bad for little Vick, but trying to watch Wishes while doing a character meal/buffet is just insanity. Never again for dinner there. I'm sticking with breakfast and maybe an off-time lunch if I'm really craving my food of the day again. :lmao:

Hello! I'm so glad you're on top of these updates... I don't even have to tell you that I made them anymore! haha. I know I am sorry we couldn't find you in time. However, it all worked out. Thank you for the corrections! And ugh what a chaotic time. We still had fun though! And yes, I am satisfied with my breakfast option from CP. LOL prime dinner time is too crazy.

Yes, it's unfortunate. Maybe if we would have had a reservation at a different time it would have worked out better... but it was just too much at one time for us I think. However, at least the food was good! And the character situation was sorted out eventually. :)

Yey another update :goodvibes

Exactly :) It really wasn't too bad... I've experienced worse times at Disney. So I'm thankful that was the major low of the trip. And thank you! Yeah we could see the fireworks pretty good from that porch... although watching Wishes and eating at a character meal at the same time doesn't work out too well... as we discovered. There are other areas like Frontierland and such that offer different views, but they're pretty good as well.
Thanks for reading! :)

I'm sorry that your Crystal Palace experience wasn't quite so magical. We have dinner reservations there in July, but they're earlier (4:45) so hopefully it won't be too chaotic then.

Jess, I love your sweatshirt! Did you just buy it during this trip? I really want one.

I love the lemon picture! Funny story: when we were younger, my cousins and I used to dip lemons in sugar, put them in our mouths, and have races around my backyard. We were weird kids. :rotfl:

Your pictures with the characters are adorable as well.

Sorry to hear CP was not a good meal. Lunch at CP has made my short list of ADRs for our next trip. My boys love the Pooh characters, so hopefully, it wouldn't be too bad if we did lunch instead of dinner.

At least the food was good. So often, it's the other way around with character meals and the characters and great and the food is just okay.

I'm sad to hear about the fact that CP is busy. We have reservations in May for about the same time, but Wishes will be at 10pm and we'll likely be seeing it the day before our reservation.

The pictures were SUPER cute though of you with the Pooh characters!

GREAT UPDATE!!!

We thought the characters at CP were slow to start with but we saw them twice so I guess they picked up the pace. We thought the food was okay but would rather go to Chef Mickeys for food. Our ADR was at 4:30 which was for sure less busy than at 5:30 when we left!

Just thought I would stop by and add my thoughts to your amazing TR.... Thanks so much for sharing this journey with all of us! You're doing a wonderful job and the singing exploits are simply one of my favorite moments EVER in a TR... (though I'm a fairly new poster, I've been lurking around the Dis for quite a while....)... how original and random... and what an outstanding memory for years to come!

Completely looking forward to more updates!

No, I think you'll be safe with your reservation at that time :) The food is so good and I'm sure you're going to enjoy it! It's just bad at busy times... yikes. :scared1:

And aww thanks! Yes I did actually! It's a 40th Anniversary sweatshirt. I love it... it was my favorite style of sweatshirt they had out of all of them! I hope they still have them in July... I feel like they would :)

And hahaha that's so funny! Vickie always puts packets of sugar on her lemons at restaurants and eats them... so I've started doing that too! It's really delicious actually haha Lemonade in food form LOL. I love your story.. I totally would have done something like that haha

And aww thanks! I love those winnie the pooh characters!

Oh no, you'll like it. Kristen likes going there for lunch so I'm sure it will be better :) I love Crystal Palace haha I feel bad that I didn't enjoy it this time. But there's always off days for everything.

And yes, the food is delicious. So I'm sure you will enjoy that! And the characters are super cute! So I'm sure you'll enjoy it!

That's good. Yeah it might be a little chaotic checking in and such.. along with the character interaction.. but not having Wishes in the middle of your meal will be a BIG help. Because that just made everything a little all over the place.

And aww thank you :)

Thank you! And oh thats really awesome you saw them twice! And oh I've actually never been to Chef Mickeys for dinner! Actually.. I haven't been there since I was 10! I'm gonna need to try it. I think I will on my next trip... but I have to decide between breakfast and dinner. And oh yes. Those early/late times are so much better than like prime dinner hour.

Aww this is so nice! :) Thank you so much for your kind comments. And hahaha I'm so glad we made one of your favorites, whether you're new or not that means a lot! It was a great memory! Thanks for finding us and reading along! We're glad you're here :flower3:

Chapter 11 - The Bathrobe Princesses
January 15th, 2011

Yes, in this Chapter you finally get to discover why we are "The Bathrobe Princesses." It's not really an ordinary story... It resulted due to our craziness, sense of adventure, and a little Disney Magic, of course.

So let us begin!

Finally all caught up.

Your pictures really show how wonderful a time you girls are having! i'm really enjoying reading it and getting energized just seeing you all having so much fun!

I watched your YouTube video after reading the background and you guys are hysterical! I love your singing and love the voices in the background who clearly are enjoying it too!

Chapter 16 - Post-Dinner Confusion
January 16th, 2011

After our chaotic dinner experience, we headed to Main Street.

dsc0592b.jpg

Vick was still not feeling very good at all. Actually, she was feeling worse. So, Mother took her to First Aid. Poor thing was so sad. :( The Magic Kingdom is her favorite park and she was so upset that she didn't feel good enough to enjoy it.

While they went to First Aid, Kristen and I went to Main Street to catch the Main Street Electrical Parade at 9 o'clock.

dsc0596j.jpg

So we found a really good spot on the curb and sat down!

Mother texted us and asked us if we saw any paramedics on Main Street. We were like... no..? Apparently, this crazy guest BURST into First Aid and started yelling at the cast members to help his wife. She was apparently suffering severe back pains and she was on Main Street. He claimed she couldn't move and he needed help immediately. The cast member asked him a few questions so they could act on the case, and he got SO frustrated that he stormed out of there and didn't come back. It was super sketchy!

So after hearing about that little episode, we were still waiting for the parade. So we took some pictures...

dsc0601u.jpg

And then some more...

dsc0609.jpg

And then some more....

dsc0604h.jpg

And then it was about 10 after 9 and there was no parade going on. So we asked a cast member what was going on and they said that the only showing of the Main Street Electrical Parade that night was at 7. Oh. So... we missed it. Darn. Mobile Magic lied. Oh well... I guess that's another reason to come back!

So, after that confusion we decided to walk around. We ended up going to Tomorrowland and came across another common Disney mystery.

dsc0615m.jpg

The Tomorrowland Terrace Noodle Station. (**note this is before they changed the name and enhanced it a little bit) We just don't understand why it's never open. It is one part of Disney that will never make sense to us.

dsc0612r.jpg

It is a perfectly good place to have a functioning restaurant... but it remains deserted day after day.

dsc0614ph.jpg

Oh, Noodle Station. You just confuse us.

dsc0613rg.jpg

So, we walked through Tomorrowland and got to Toontown.

dsc0618e.jpg

We decided we better grab one last ride in the Barnstormer before it was rethemed. So we hopped in line.

dsc0621f.jpg

dsc0627.jpg

They played cute Toontown Music that Kristen really liked. I think she's gonna miss that frump music a lot when it closes.

dsc0628e.jpg

So we got on the Barnstormer. And then we got off. That is like the shortest rollercoaster in America. However, it is fun to pretend that you're really into and and scream. And that's what we did. I'm pretty sure we were the only ones.

dsc0626o.jpg

Look at that intensity !!!

dsc0630.jpg

What a thrill !!!

There is nothing worse than feeling sick when you're in Disney. :sad2:

I have an aversion to buffets during the busy meal times. I can handle a normal restaurant, because I don't have to dodge in and out of people, but buffets can be rough, so I can totally understand how your meal at the Crystal Palace was less than ideal.

That's too bad that she was feeling so awful at her favorite park, hopefully whatever it was went away quickly.

The Tomorrowland Terrace restaurant thing always puzzles me too, it just seems so weird that it's closed more often than not.

Love the pics in toontown:goodvibes

So sorry to hear that she is still sick. That was so weird about the guy screaming for help and then not sticking around to get it!

Too funny about the parade -- were there others waiting around, too?

We go on Goofy's Barnstormer each trip -- my DDs love it! Can't wait until it reopens.

Your castle pics are wonderful!

Oh I know :( Poor Vickie! And yeah that is a very good point. I'll probably remember that for future planning.

I know :( But yes by the next morning she will be okay again!
And haha I know right?! I only saw it open one time... on President's Day. Which was after this vacation. So strange LOL
And thank you! There are many more toontown pictures to come!

I know it was so strange! I don't know what was going on. I guess it will just be a mystery forever.
And aww yes I know it's a fun little ride to go on! It was my first rollercoaster. It's a classic and I'm glad they're not getting rid of it!
And thank you! :)

I love Vickie's pink tie dye sweatshirt! Do you know where she got it?

Hahaha well it's actually from the kids' section  She just got an extra large. I can't remember exactly which store she bought it at but I do remember I saw them in a shop on Main Street and there were some in the World of Disney Store at Downtown Disney.

That sounds like a very confusing night, between the parade not taking place at nine, the guy wanting medical help and leaving, and the Tomorrowland Terrance Noodle place, which is one of Disney's greatest mysteries.

I never got to ride on the Barnstormer, but hopefully, it will still be around in some form after the refurbishment is done.

Chapter 17 - A Tribute to Toontown
January 16th, 2011

So, after our wild ride on "The Barnstormer," Kristen and I decided to take a thorough evaluation of Toontown, considering this was our second last time in it FOREVER. Sad, I know.

So, we began at Donald's Boat. I never actually went in this when the water was on. I guess my opportunity is gone. Nevertheless, we went inside to just look around one last time.

dsc05271o.jpg

Next, we wandered over to "Toontown Hall of Fame." This is one of the places of my childhood. I used to recommend everyone I knew, who was going to disney, to go here to meet characters. And I used to visit it on every vacation since I was like 8. Or maybe earlier!

dsc0634dk.jpg

And I LOVED the "County Bounty" gift shop. It was so cute. I just liked how cheerful it was in there.

I found this cute shirt that's based on Toy Story. We took a picture of it for our friend Natalie because she loves Toy Story a lot!

dsc0639n.jpg

I love Mickey and Minnie (: This was actually my facebook default for the longest time and so many people liked it haha. I guess Mickey and Minnie are just attention drawers.

dsc0640b.jpg

Kristen took a picture with them too. So cute!

dsc0641u.jpg

So then we almost hopped in line to meet Tinkerbell and Friends... but then we didn't feel like waiting. So forward march!

We went over to Mickey's Country House instead!

dsc0664ol.jpg

Mickey's Bedroom.

dsc0643tv.jpg

Mickey's Rec. Room! They're playing Mickey Ping-Pong! And of course Donald is losing. LOL poor thing.

dsc0646t.jpg

The result of Donald and Goofy trying to decorate a kitchen. Yeah.... What a mess.

dsc0651a.jpg

Mickey's Shopping List (I think he needs cheese?)

dsc0649m.jpg

Now for the backyard... Pluto's Dog House! So so so cute!

dsc0653h.jpg

Mickey Pumpkins! These were always so cool to me.

dsc0655.jpg

"Please join us in the Judge's Tent..." I don't believe I ever did that. How sad. And if I did it would have been forever ago... I don't remember. At least Mickey will still be in other parts of Disney! I would miss him if he ever went away.

dsc0657y.jpg

Mickey's Garden. How creative. Mickey Tomatoes are the best. (even though I don't like tomatoes... Disney just makes al types of food look good.)

dsc0658b.jpg

Character Topiaries! Adorable.

dsc0659ts.jpg

And then we left.

After our adventure through Mickey's house, we wanted to take a picture of the Toontown Train Station sign. So, we went through "Toon Park" Playground to get a good view. There were little kids every where!

So, we took our picture.

dsc0665j.jpg

And then on our way out, I was like "Yayyy I'm a child!" and started running out of the playground to get back to the sidewalk. And while I was heading out, a little kid JUMPED right at me from a platform on the playground. I was like... "SORRY!' and kept running. Kristen was like "You almost killed a child!!" I think he was okay... but it was a shock to both of us. LOL It was really amusing. And Kristen got in on video.

Our next stop in Toontown was Minnie's Country House. I want a Minnie Mailbox at my own house!!

dsc05272l.jpg

Just Chillin' at Minnie's.

dsc05274e.jpg

Some nice artwork.

dsc05281o.jpg

Kristen decided to take up pottery.

dsc05284ps.jpg

Tea and Cookie Time!

dsc05292p.jpg

Minnie's Fridge... I love refrigerators (: Isn't it just so fun to look at food?!

dsc05295m.jpg

Mickey's Birthday Cake!!

dsc05301bp.jpg

Just relaxing in the Sun Room.

dsc05305rf.jpg

And the best part... Minnie's Gazebo! I just have always found this so precious.

dsc05307b.jpg

So, in conclusion... Toontown - you have been very good to us! And we will miss you greatly! Thanks for all of the memories (:
