Are you Pooh or Baloo sized and have riden Expedition Everest? Could you please let us know if you fit, how was the ride, any conserns etc etc...???

Thank you for any and all info.

I am a pooh sized gal, and I had a teeny tiny problem with the lap bar going down far enough. The CM told me to stand up, then pull the lap bar down, and I was fine. I'm short, so leg room's not an issue, but once the ride started, it was great. I loved it!

Thanks for the link... :thumbsup2

Anyone else with experience??? Thanks

I'll post my husband's weight, because he's bigger than me (and not here to stop me). :rolleyes1 He's 5'8" and 260-ish and he didn't have a problem. In fact, he didn't even mention it.

I would like to hear any comments also.My dad is Pooh sized even though he has lost 148 lbs so far and I DO NOT want him to be embarrassed. He is bigger than the size 46 pants referred to in the other thread.Anyone bigger than that that has ridden it??

Check out Deb's WDW At Large pages over at allears.net. The link I gave is to the AK page. Several comments on EE over there.

Note also that there is a test car near the gift shop, so you can try it out without getting on the actual ride, if you're still not sure.

My daughter and I went to the World to give Everest a ride during the AP/DVC preview. I'm a large mammal and I had not real problems. I tip the scales at about 320lbs and stand about 6'2". I carry most of my weight in front of me and I was able to enjoy the attraction, comfortably.

The first couple times on it I had no issues. I sat down and then pushed down the lap bar and it clicked right into the locked position.

Later in the day I did have an issue when I tried to do this. So I stood back up and as I sat down I locked down the lap bar and then sort of slid in under it.

I'm a pretty big boy and had no real problems. I saw people larger then me riding Everest. As you are probably aware, Disney does a pretty good job of accomidating us larger mammals.

Go, get a fast pass and enjoy the ride. I'll be back down in July to ride it again.

Have fun!!!!

Now I'm even more confused if I'll fit. I read all the comments and went over to Deb's website and read more.

Taking a look at the picture shows it's a pretty wide lap bar. I can understand how they are suggesting you stand, push/(they say pull) the bar down and then you kind of squish yourself in and under the bar.

How easily and securable is that for those of you who have done it? And how comparable is it to the Space Mountain lap bars?

Now I have some anxiety - I'm going with my brother and his family who are all normal weighted and they are planning on riding it a ton.

I'm a bit confused why Disney of all parks wouldn't of taken us Pooh-sized people in consideration. I know Cedar Pointe doesn't but Disney has been pretty good in the past.

Help - please add comments and keep this thread going. Please!

I am 5'4", about 300 pounds, and wear a women's size 24-26. I carry most of my weight in my middle. I rode EE at the passholder preview in January and again this past weekend. When I rode the first time, I could not get the lap bar to go down and a very nice castmember asked me to stand up, helped me push the lap bar down and then asked if I was okay with it (as it was pushing into my stomach somewhat). It was somewhat uncomfortable, but I really wanted to ride, so I said it was okay. He said that the lap bar has to go down to the first "click" before it will latch.

This past weekend, I rode it again and had to remain standing, push the lap bar down until it clicked, and then slide my stomach under it. I had read on the boards that there were some rumored changes made to the lap bars so that they did not have to go down so far to click, but I could tell no difference in the bar from the ride I had in January. I rode twice this past weekend, and though the lap bar is uncomfortable for me, it is not uncomfortable enough to keep me from riding - it just presses in tightly on my stomach when I ride.

Hope this helps!

Susan

I had the same issue, normally I have no problem with lap bars only with belts (I'm wider than thicker). However on EE I had to stand press the bar against my legs and sort of slide under it. I was surprised that I had an issues as I never had before. I want to ride again but am a bit concerned about it not working... I wish the test car locked so that you would know and had a button to "unlock" the lap bar.
