The Planning Journal of Jenny & James (GOOD NEWS pg3)

Jenny,

We do have a lot in common! You live in the same town as I do and you are a teacher. I will have to give you any stuff I dont end up needing. We are flying out of BWI so I will let you know how the dress traveling goes.

I tell all of my single friends they should do online dating. If nothing else it keeps you busy after a breakup. My maid of honor finally listened to me after a year of being single and now she is dating a guy and they are already talking marriage.

It must be crazy for your family, planning two weddings in one year! Where is your sister getting married? My sister and I have gotten really close since I started planning my wedding. Good luck with your planning! If I can be of any help let me know.

I have a lot to update and more pics will be coming soon. My week long vacation at home in PA was productive. I bought flowers from Michael's and made my bouqets. I designed and printed out my custom guestbook. Selected BM dress (different from what I had planned). Wrote the wording for my invitations, programs, and RSVPs. Waiting for daddy to e-mail me my files and some pictures to share with you all.

I modified the look of my monogram. I was undecided between the monogram and using a castle image so I did some math. :teacher:

This is the BM dress we chose. Similar to what I had in mind but a very nice design. Will make a nice cocktail dress if my sister wants to have the length altered after the wedding. (the hem looks horrible in this picture):

And here is a sample of my guest book pages:

More pics and planning info coming soon!

I just noticed I am creeping up on the eight month mark . . . that's freaking me out a little . . . but in a good freaking-out kind of way.

I need to gather my thoughts and gather my questions so I can post a thread asking for some help with what to expect.

Jenny

PS: Daddy sent me the pictures of the bouqets, door hangers, and some other things I made last week. Unless my sore throat has me sleeping the day away I will have the pics posted tomorrow.

I love everything!! You are getting married 2 months before me!! My 8 month mark is in July!! I can't wait.

Thanks for sharing everything.

How nice to be using the veils as a something borrowed with your sister... I love your dress its so beautiful

You look amazing in your gown and I think sharing the veil is so special. I love your guest book and monogram, too!

As promised I am sick in bed and sleeping the day away . . . but I have strength enough to post here on the DIS.

Here are the flowers I made for myself:

Daddy pointed out that when you turn the hangers are upside down it looks like Mickey ears. Here are my doorhangers (not yet personalized):

First let me say what a doll you are! You have such pretty eyes! You look great in your dress-- with the exception of the proportional size difference with the one in the photo and you!

I LOVE those flowers-- you said you did those yourself? Amazing! Where were you when I was planning my wedding? haha.. I love the 'boutinwhatevers'-- thats completely somethign I would say-- I laughed out loud!

I like your new monograms too-- very very cute!

Things look great-- cant wait to continue reading this thread :)

My DF and I actually met on Match. And as they say...the rest is history.

Great journal! I love your monogram... :goodvibes

The shoes (comfort over style for me):

Ok, I had these exact shoes b/c I HAD to have the all-enclosed, clear Cinderella pump...my advice is I hope you aren't doing a lot of walking! LOL They don't give at all, so if your toes hit the front of the shoe, you will have sore toenails at the end of the night! You might want to practice walking in them...a LOT. I wore white thigh-his so my feet didn't get really icky sweaty, just a thought if you were thinking of wearing stockings or not.

Were I to do it again, I'm sure I'd wear the same exact shoes and live through the discomfort though...LOL It took me forever to find these shoes...

Eeyore's Tailfinder: If they wedding stress isn't making me crazy I shall be thinking about you on the 4th. But just in case the stres is too much I wish you a very happy birthday in advance! :bday:

Maggimus: Thanks for the compliment. Making things gives me something to keep busy with so I don't feel like I am wasting valuable wedding preparation time. And might I add I only spent $30.00 total to make those. It's the bargain not the creativity that motivated me. And when you are ready to do you vow renewal at Disney I'd be happy to help. ;)

Swmhc: CONGRATULATIONS! I so love hearing another success story. :woohoo:

I have some severe back problems and can't risk getting sick on my wedding day because I want my shoes to be "cute." Thanks for being the voice of reason in my head. :chat:

UPDATE: I am past the 8 month mark and have heard NOTHING from DFTW so I will spend my lunch break making another phone call. I have run into a big snag financially as I will be taking a good bit of time off for surgery in three weeks. I could have really used the money to make some deposits and pay off some wedding expenses. DF insists that this wedding will happen in Disney and my faith and trust is in him. I've been going through a wedding slump but managed to get a few more projects done that I will have to photograph for you all. I haven't even lurked on the boards the past couple of weeks as this wedding slump has been making me sad lately. Maybe this is a rant or just me letting some of those yucky feelings ooze out. The wedding just seems impossible and that is the best way I can describe my feelings.

Thinking about you all and I'll keep you updated! :grouphug:

Awww Jenny! Keep your head up! And have faith in your DF and stay strong! Boy do I know what a wedding slump feels like. Planning for a wedding can be stressful....at times it seems impossible (financially and for other reasons). You just gotta stay strong in believe in what you want!

Sorry to hear about the slump. Everyone hits wedding planning doldrums at some point, just focus on getting better. You'll be in a more promising state of mind later.

Best of luck.

As promised a wedding update . . .The wedding slump is weaker and I feel like I am getting somewhere. Yes folks, that means there is good news.

*DF and I have decided to have a Catholic ceremony in a Catholic church before we get to Disney. It just works for us and our situation. :thumbsup2

*I'd like to thank the federal government for being so kind to me this tax season. I will be able to make the deposit to DFTW. :woohoo:

*Spoke to Diane at DFTW and she informed me that the contract could be signed May 6. :yay:

*Received five e-mails and I am now preparing my room block (great rates), guest list, wedding website, and some contract information. I feel like a bride again. :bride:

Jenny

Good for you!!! I'm glad you are happier now:)
